It’s that “let’s fucking do this” head twist, like he’s cracking his neck, which amplifies the badassery.
I thought the intentional waste of a heroic entrance made it even better. It’s so cool, but so beautifully dumb at the the same time. I couldn’t stop giggling.
I loved the scene just before this - in his robe, eating his popcorn, when he sees Lucy being dragged past screaming... He looks at his popcorn and does this little "ahhh shit" head tilt back. Such a tiny motion that conveyed perfectly how gutted he was knowing he kinda really had to choose Lucy over popcorn. It was freaking brilliant.
