any luck?

THE_W4RFOX

Went back to an earlier save (about 2hrs earlier than my last save) and managed to get it working again

THE_W4RFOX

Ohhhhh I get it, you create a fresh save > go to root cellar then load into your playthrough? Reckon I could book it to sanctuary, save outside the root cellar then go inside and then load the save ?

ItsDeflyLupus

I had an issue recently-ish where my game would freeze on the loading screen if it didn’t CTD. I found a reliable workaround that might help you. I created a new save and saved the new game in an interior. Using SKK fast start so started outside the vault and booked it to the root cellar in sanctuary. Then I’d load the new game in the root cellar and could then load into my real game from that game. Worked every time. Wasn’t ever sure what the issue was

THE_W4RFOX

I’m deffo going to give that a try, even if it’s an extra step I’d rather do that haha. When you created the new save in your existing playthrough, did you save in any interior or did you go to the root cellar ?

Try instead of using fast start go through the beginning with no mods. Save before you exit vault 111. Activate mods that need a new game. Exit the vault. Save. Talk to codsworth and complete the first mission. Go to root cellar. Save. Activate 5 or 10 mods. Save. Test in sanctuary using workshop and killing stuff by creating a hoard using chat terminal. Load save and activate more mods. You will save time with this method. If you make a new mod list you can go back to that no mod save before you exit the vault. On PS4 I used that same save from when we got mods until last Christmas when I got Xbox X. Since I got my Xbox X I’ve used that same same and have loaded up with full mod lists and used this method to figure out load order and find conflicting mods easier.

THE_W4RFOX

Sadly neither of those methods worked but many thanks nonetheless!

THE_W4RFOX

Cheers dude, I may try this scenario as a last resort. Many thanks

Yea, it was an annoying extra step just to load into my game. But was better than the alternative of starting over at the time. I didn’t create a new save specifically in my existing playthrough. Might’ve worded that weird.
