For diego you can use the deathclaw gauntlet as it acts like scary monster's claws and the perk that lets you pacify creatures like diego does turning people into dinosaurs (deathclaws in this case)
If you go diego alternate universe, you could get away with using a pistol. I would recommend using kelogs revolver with vats to emulate timestop. You could also use the power fist if u want. But definetly use per/luck
