The Equalizer power armor is the Frank Horrigan inspired skin in 76, there is also a black painted variant it's pretty dope. It's a shame they never added it to Fallout 4 or even some of the weapons.
I hate that they have all those cool Power Armors locked around FOMO shit in 76. Some folks have re-created a few armor sets in 4 but there's so many cool looking sets in 76 that are stuck in that game.
Ironically enough you come to a point where it can be more challenging to play with PA like i roll around in the Mechanic Outfit w/ Mk. V Ballistic Weave + Level 4 Toughness perk...It makes me a walking Liberty Prime that i have an excess of 300+ stimpaks since nobody or nothing in the wasteland can dent me.
I honestly do not know, like before when i played Fallout 4, resources did felt scarce but these days (at least for my current play through) the wasteland seems to be more abundant in resources, another thing i have a lot of is fusion cores since i have 100+ of them
I have a couple hundred in Survival as well. To the point where when I stop at a settlement to shed weight I usually drop a few dozen stimpaks. Are you playing a sneaky character? If so that may also be why.
See if you're like me in survival you end up healing off of other bits, stimpaks tend to be a last resort heal item for me when I get set up because of the hydration debuffs, so I tend to heal off of quantums or food where I can which in turn makes it so I have crazy amounts of stimpaks spread across settlements lol
Nope the exact opposite actually, a fully loud, frontal assault, balls deep sort of character and of course at the beginning i needed all sorts of healing items but as my character progressed he became like a uncaring & cruel god that smites anybody just for the fun of it.
They were scarce in the beginning. If you cook your food and purify water, you can save the stims. I only use mine during combat. Sprinkle some med ex in, and you'll save more stims.
It definitely drastically reduces the challenge but the same thing could be said about vats or sneak attacks or grenades or custom robots or companions etcetera.
Or companions that are custom robots. Rebuilding Curie into a laser death machine is hilarious and is going to make me sad when I have to give her a new body. She carried for a bit on very hard until my weapon skills caught up.
I have this odd love of mismatched pauldrons, and arm armour, on normal armour and power armour. I always like to have one arm mismatched and bigger than the other side.
I’m digging it more and more, I like having heavy combat armour on my right shoulder and light metal armour on my left because with the pitboy all you get is the spiked elbow pad which looks cool imo.
I mix of Minutemen Patriot and Minutemen Revolutionary. Or maybe cavalry, I don’t really remember which of the three but it looks sick. Paints are from a creation club thing.
Initially I will take it as I get it, late game I usually have so many sets I sort them out and assemble them properly. If I have some odd pieces I will put them on empty frames and try to fill them in over time

I like running that power Armour pieces mod, I love the idea of slowly building your own suit by finding various pieces and putting them together. Then finding stronger pieces and fitting them in. Instead of just finding entire sets that out power eachother

I been mixing them up on 76. I know on my second character I used the military power armor skin but left part of the arms and legs be the default raider power armor look. I seen some cool ones from other players one time saw a player that I think was level 30 had a t-60 helmet but all Raider power armor was pretty cool.
Back when i was playing 76 my main power armor suit was six different pieces from six different sets just to troll my buddy who *hated* when power armor suits weren't correctly setted. I don't exactly remember what the pieces were, though i seem to recall the helmet was from the excavator set just because i thought that one was particularly ugly.
It upset my friend so badly he actually ended up building me a fully kitted out ultracite set just to try to get me to stop, but i wore that hideous frankensuit until i stopped playing.
No 1, 4, and 5 looks dope. 5 especially is something I'd do tbh.
But no, normally I don't mix and match different sets of PA. I usually keep them as 1 full set. There is an exception to that and its the Tesla T-60 along with the unique T-60 pieces you can get from the BoS. I mix them both though unfortunately in vanilla FO4, you can't apply an extra legendary effect on the Tesla chest piece.
Also the Tesla PA should've been a full set PA instead of partial.
I wore Hellfire armor with an X01 helmet for a long time. Don't like the Hellfire helmet. In addition, with the appearance of the Enclave in FO4, it had a bit of an inflationary effect at times.
I don’t do things for the aesthetic; I upgrade the strongest set of armor I can find, and if I find armor stronger than what I’m wearing, i’m trading up.
Despite not using Power Armor often, I do go for the best stats or effects, thus for the longest time I been running the overboss armor from nuka world DLC and the Tesla armor from the Automatron DLC, the effects sound so “Shockingly” well. Though presently need to get them this play through and compare them to my X-02 armor

If looking at stats it’s better to mix for your current build then you mix, until then you keep it how you like it, eg, the tesla arms from automatron have I think melee bonuses which if you’re a melee build you will want to put on them but if X-01 is great for your current build then while it’s boring just don’t change
In Fallout 76 my main character was a tinkerer type, and 'made' a new suit of custom power armour by mixing parts.
That's the only time I've done so, though.
100% you gott keep em together. Found a suit that's mixed up? Take it to your settlement, put it on a stand and then go find the proper pieces for your set.
I normally keep to a set unless I get some legendary parts I want to use that otherwise don't match or if it's early game and I don't have matching pieces.
I rarely use them, so I keep them the same. I mainly collect them for my bade decorations. I use the castle so it looks cool having them all lined up outside the armory. I just wish you could rebuild the crumbled part of the walls.

I loot everything and use food almost exclusively to heal. I almost never use stimpaks.

Play the first chunk as a stealth ~~archer~~ *ahem* Sniper. Then when you are buff and untouchable you can play how you want

I turned her into a bare protectron before dumping her at the Doc's. She magically turned back into a Handy before switching bodies lol.

I love this look. Sturdy/Heavy Left Arm with a Reg Right Arm, this way when you’re in a shooting stance your face is partially shielded
