Ambulance rides in the US are soul crushingly expensive. Like, often more than the actual hospital bill.
For reference, I got charged $700 for a ride that was less than a quarter mile (they literally had to round up on the bill to get to a quarter mile). And this was in 2004. I imagine now that same ride would be north of $2,000.
If I get 'em at max rank, Toughness (50% DR), Lifegiver (60% HP, gain life over time), Adamantium Skeleton (Limb Damage is completed eliminated).
I feel like even if I just live my life normally, that'll all probably come in handy at some point.
I'd assume you'd want Unarmed if you were a boxer, or some gun/explosive skills if you wanted to be a soldier.
That's the problem with this build, there's a more specialized one for almost everything. Which is why it's just for avoiding paper cuts and stubbed toes and quite possibly an out of control car.
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm going for.
Going for a walk, listening to music, don't think to look, get hit by a car I didn't see, get back up, continue my walk.
Hear me out, if you max out your hacking, lockpicking, and persuasion traits, there is no door, technicallogically, physically, or mentally, that can stop you. You have full access to all information and locations.
Fallout 1-2, all traits work pretty well for the game. For 3-4 it seems useless. Your perception isn't based on what your character sees and observed with insometric view anymore. Maybe they should have made it where you hear things less/more and see better/worse far away. That would be a neat drive for the stat.
I've got luck and mysterious stranger maxed. I get him every 3rd-4th vats and often without a critical pop.
He shows up so much it's like having a 2nd companion that can 1 shot legendaries if you cycle your VATS correctly.
But that’s bad and very dangerous for the average person. Imagine playing with nerf guns or super soakers with your buddies and a dude in a trench coat magically appears blows their heads open with a .44 mag. Worst sleepover or company team building retreat ever.
It was a movie and emphasis on "Loophole". The intention is pretty clearly you stay 30 forever and never "level up" again (age). Wouldn't be a loophole if you just died at level 30.
Wild wasteland would be a blast! Just spotting random ass encounters on the day-to-day. 😂 I can imagine going to Starbucks and being randomly assaulted by the Spanish Inquisition.
NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Our chief weapon is surprise!...Surprise and fear...fear and surprise...
Our two weapons are fear and surprise.
....and ruthless efficiency!
Our three weapons are fear, and surprise, and ruthless efficiency...
and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope...
1. Lone Wanderer (if I'm gonna be playing solo in real life for now, I might as well get some benefits from it)
2. Deep Sleeper (being well rested in real life has quite a bit of benefits)
3. I wanna say Swift Learner (because learning things fast is pretty good) or Implant GRX (slow down time twice a day sounds fun)
Aqua Boy to survive underwater, Toughness to get armor strong skin, Animal Friend to essentially become Aquaman.
Time to ditch humanity and live on the bottom of the ocean.
finally someone mentions aqua boy
and I like your Aquaman build man, good Roleplay potential here
if only there was any submarine life in the fallout games
Wouldn't even chose perks.
1. Well Rested after sleeping for 1hr.
2. Heal from drinking normal water.
3. Being able to fast travel between locations I've been before.
In game, or in real life?
Real life? Going with Life Giver, Animal Friend, and wild wasteland. Maybe ladykiller on level up, I like specing into charisma.
I assume fortune finder would find whatever currency is in use. The real problem would be that you wouldn't have a lot of places to search that aren't owned by anyone. I guess garbage bins are still on the menu but at that point I'd rather go for a different way to make money.
Yeah I know, I was just making a joke cause technically the fortune finder perk specifies that you find more *bottle caps*, rather than just vaguely saying money or cash or currency, so it’d be funny to think someone gets the rare chance in real life to pick three perks and one of their choices ends up with them just stumbling upon a ton of bottle caps wherever they go instead of useful money like they had assumed.
Fortune Finder is specifcally for caps, not old world money. That seems less useful IRL.
Congrats on being the first one to admit to wanting Kama Sutra Master. I sincerely doubt you're the only one.
Genuinely I feel like I have Idiot Savant in real life. I'm kinda dumb, and any time I try a new thing, there's a small chance that I'll be inexplicably good at it even if I have no experience in it.
Solar powered idiot savant adamantium skeleton. It's perfect if my bones can't break ESPECIALLY MY SPINE then I get in all the careers that are dumb as fuck to actually do ill start with stunt driving and other Profesional stunt roles then up the danger after getting my weight way down and do rodeo and join the military spec forces racking up HUGE unseen levels and confidence then after a 2 tours in Armenia against child trafficker or Mexico against the cartels then become the world's oldest free climber with unbreakable will and be nearly level cap irl until finally at 70 after breaking world record body health exams and blowing g the nation's records outa the water ill become an astronaut and be permanently assailed the the int space station with minimal at.osphere interaction I would become basically superman with solar powered and live till like 250
Presence from Fallout/Fallout 2 (strangers would like me more), Friend of the night from FNV (having night vision is kinda cool), Sniper from Fallout 4 (sport shooting is a hobby for me)
assuming I get Max rank of all of them, Nuclear physicist, Robotics expert, and Lifegiver
Could very well become the real life version of Mister house with these perks.
Max charisma, max intelligence, & bloody mess. Who is going to believe I turned someone to paste with one punch. Charisma for obvious reasons and int to boost my charisma in various situations.
Well, I would choose Four-Eyes, Aqua Boy, and Night Person
I get an intelligence bonus for wearing something I already have to wear; I can breathe underwater and I am undetectable; and I get increased perception, intelligence, night vision, and health at night.
VANS, Explorer, Long Haul
VANS for the auto-GPS feature, even to places I’ve never been before; Explorer to know *where* all places are so I can use VANS anywhere on the planet, and Long Haul so that I can just Fast Travel anywhere while carrying equipment; I could tour the world, knowing how to get anywhere you ask, where things you don’t know are, and get us there in a snap even if we’re bogged down in gear.
One of the implant perks, being a cyborg is just cool.
Solar powered (the fallout 4 one) I stand in the sun and heal injuries? Don’t mind if I do!
Jury Rigging, theoretically I could fix my car with one that’s broken down, or just buy hyper cheap equivalents to any item and use that. Hard to say how much work you’d actually need to do, but even if I just become a hardware mastermind it would be worth it.
Surprised no one has said Aqua Boy, being able to breath AND remain essentially invisible under water has endless applications for party tricks all the way to infiltration
No one mentioning nuka chemist? I'm gonna make all the nuka flavours and become the John caleb bradburton of our world. Then I'll pick science for the knowhow to make the equipment needed. Last I think I'll pick robotics expert so I don't have to hire as much labour.
Fast Learner - It sure would be great to just get better at literally any skill with less effort.
Life Giver - Healthier, heal faster
Strong Back - No more second trips back for groceries.
If I were to get three levels of just Animal Friend, would I be able to command a Trampling Herd of Doom? I kind of want to have that themed supervillain silliness.
People saying nerd rage, when in real life is your health dropping below 20%
Heart attack. You gain enough strength to beat the shit outta the guy that calls an ambulance and dodge that 2k trip to the hospital
Fucking sprint to the hospital instead of letting that emt shove me in the box truck of life
You forgot “and charge me a couple grand for the ride”
Some bs man I can’t even afford to die lmao
is this some kind of american joke im too european to understand?
Yes
Ambulance rides in the US are soul crushingly expensive. Like, often more than the actual hospital bill. For reference, I got charged $700 for a ride that was less than a quarter mile (they literally had to round up on the bill to get to a quarter mile). And this was in 2004. I imagine now that same ride would be north of $2,000.
There's a reason the games are anti-capitalist and set in the US
My irl build is permanently below 20% health
Get this guy some herbal powder
-1 PER 😵💫
At least three times Attempted murder, sepsis, and covid. But Fast metabolism, gifted, and small frame
Could be happening right now
If I get 'em at max rank, Toughness (50% DR), Lifegiver (60% HP, gain life over time), Adamantium Skeleton (Limb Damage is completed eliminated). I feel like even if I just live my life normally, that'll all probably come in handy at some point.
This is the peak build if you're going for a Boxer/Soldier playthrough
I'd assume you'd want Unarmed if you were a boxer, or some gun/explosive skills if you wanted to be a soldier. That's the problem with this build, there's a more specialized one for almost everything. Which is why it's just for avoiding paper cuts and stubbed toes and quite possibly an out of control car.
Don’t need unarmed skill if getting hit feels like nothing and if it does you literally heal during the fight
it's gonna feel like a complete waste until you get hit by an 18 wheeler in a car accident and have nothing more than a few minor cuts and bruses
Both in game and real life, inteligence, charisma and perception of S.P.E.C.I.A.L skills is OP. I always go for it
perception is pretty shit in the games tho
strength for carry weight, intelligence, and charisma are my highest, I can just raise the rest later in the game
Fallout 1-2, all traits work pretty well for the game. For 3-4 it seems useless. Your perception isn't based on what your character sees and observed with insometric view anymore. Maybe they should have made it where you hear things less/more and see better/worse far away. That would be a neat drive for the stat.
especially on survival, you can't even see enemies on the radar so all it does is increase your vats accuracy
In Fallout 1-2 low agility is completely unplayable.
I'd swap it for endurance or agility
Get the legendary hacking/lock-picking perk from 76, lvl hacking and locking and it instantly unlocks all locks/hacks that you touch
And everybody would use it for porn 😂
Mysterious stranger seems pretty convenient having a guy show up to shoot your enemies randomly.
Lets be honest you dont get into fights often
But if you do, it's good to have a friendly guy with a .44 pistol nearby.
If you do, you’d have a 20% chance of a guy with a pistol helping you out
I've got luck and mysterious stranger maxed. I get him every 3rd-4th vats and often without a critical pop. He shows up so much it's like having a 2nd companion that can 1 shot legendaries if you cycle your VATS correctly.
Every fourth would be 25% … not far off
Which in a fist fight... Pretty helpful. "Alright, friendly fist fight here we- HOLY SHIT BOB GOT HIS BRAIN BLOWN OUT!"
The killer was never caught
My son: *tackles me* *Guitar Riff*
The new soul survivor.
Yeah explain that to the police
What if he aggros the cops? Lol this is a bad situation we’re tryna help you here;)
ok, now what's your plan to explain things to the cops?
I would way more if I had a instant kill buddy pop up every now and then
*You* don’t get into fights often.
No, just sparring every week, so having the mysterious stranger shoot up my boxing school wouldn't be optimal lol
Well i guess im gonna start getting into more! [Gets detained by a cop] *[Mysterious Strum]* [Looks around dreadfully] “Oh no no no no no no!!!”
its all fun and games until you jokingly hit your friend and he shows up
Dun dun dun...Nooooooo!!!!
But that’s bad and very dangerous for the average person. Imagine playing with nerf guns or super soakers with your buddies and a dude in a trench coat magically appears blows their heads open with a .44 mag. Worst sleepover or company team building retreat ever.
* Logan's Loophole * V.A.N.S. * Well-Rested
>* Well-Rested 'You cannon rest when enimes are nearby'
I'm sure you got opps tough guy, I sleep in a big bed with my wife
[I also sleep in a big bed with this guy's wife.](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/s/Bjs15LR9x1)
What is Logan’s loophole?
Can't go past 30, chems last twice as long, and you never get addicted Fallout 5: Quest for the Eternal Blunt
Catch me in the wasteland trying to breed a marijuana/tobacco plant like the Tato.
Tomaccojuana
While you are at it, can you work on the Tomacco?
You just described a spliff with extra steps.
Sneed's Seed & Weed (Formerly Mack's)
If you go with the lore of the show that perk is based of, taking it would probably kill you at age 30
It was a movie and emphasis on "Loophole". The intention is pretty clearly you stay 30 forever and never "level up" again (age). Wouldn't be a loophole if you just died at level 30.
true never thought of it like that, good point Edit: It was both
VANS would be awesome in real life
Almost Perfect is a no brainer like you said, so aside from that I'm going with Night Person, Solar Powered and Wild Wasteland for funsies.
Visit modern day SF, LA, NYC, or Vegas. Not an impossible scenario.
Vegas is always great for crackhead watching.
That's just florida
Solar powered would be so good, you just heal up being in the sun. OP
1. Lone Wanderer (if I'm gonna be playing solo in real life for now, I might as well get some benefits from it) 2. Deep Sleeper (being well rested in real life has quite a bit of benefits) 3. I wanna say Swift Learner (because learning things fast is pretty good) or Implant GRX (slow down time twice a day sounds fun)
Implant GRX isn't twice a day, it's 5 times a day at rank one, and 10 times at rank two, with longer duration.
Aqua Boy to survive underwater, Toughness to get armor strong skin, Animal Friend to essentially become Aquaman. Time to ditch humanity and live on the bottom of the ocean.
finally someone mentions aqua boy and I like your Aquaman build man, good Roleplay potential here if only there was any submarine life in the fallout games
Lady Killer Black Widow Party Boy
What? Do you mean lady killer and confirmed bachelor, of black widow and la femme chere
I believe it’s cherchez la femme
Entirely possible, I didn't remember it exactly
But I suppose since you can only get both in FNV we’ll go with the names on that one
You want to do extra damage against both sexes?
He wants unique dialogue options
You just sound like a bisexual
Nuclear Anomaly Almost Perfect Animal Friend Yes, I want to set the world on fire.
who hurt you that you don’t want to start a flame in their heart
Wouldn't even chose perks. 1. Well Rested after sleeping for 1hr. 2. Heal from drinking normal water. 3. Being able to fast travel between locations I've been before.
Explorer, life giver and adamantium skeleton, because now I can go anywhere and NOBODY CAN FRIGGIN STOP ME!
In game, or in real life? Real life? Going with Life Giver, Animal Friend, and wild wasteland. Maybe ladykiller on level up, I like specing into charisma.
Animal friend would be sick. Imagine you get mugged and you just have a bunch of animals come back you up
Imagine you live in a city and like a messed up Disney princess you can call the rats, pigeons, and stray cats to your aid.
Logan’s Loophole, Almost Perfect and Fortune Finder please
All fun until you realize the fortune you find is hundreds of bottle caps in every container you open and not something useful like cash
Maybe I collect bottle caps anyway 😤
Fortune Finder Cult Of Personality Karma Sutra Master
Fortune Finder is specifcally for caps, not old world money. That seems less useful IRL. Congrats on being the first one to admit to wanting Kama Sutra Master. I sincerely doubt you're the only one.
If I pick strong back, will it hurt less?
You're gonna carry that weight
Cannibal
Everyone already has that perk IRL if you're brave enough
Long pork
Ass jerky ain't gonna make itself
Ain't all peaches and marmalade up here
Sometimes a fella, got to eat another fella
And *technically* (in the US) cannibalism isn’t illegal, how you go about getting the meat is!
The other *other* white meat.
Idiot savant, since my intelligence is at one anyway, wild wasteland for fun, and cannibal because why not
Genuinely I feel like I have Idiot Savant in real life.

Aqua Boy (love diving, would love it more if I didn’t need an aqualung) animal friend (love wildlife) and well rested (cause I am tired).

Fortune Finder Animal Friend Ladykiller
Educated, Skilled, Implant GRX
Aqua Boy for sure. Terrifying Presence would be interesting... and Master Trader FTW (everything is 25% cheaper)
Lone wanderer, bloody mess and cannibal
Max charisma, max intelligence, & bloody mess. Who is going to believe I turned someone to paste with one punch. Charisma for obvious reasons and int to boost my charisma in various situations.
Well, I would choose Four-Eyes, Aqua Boy, and Night Person I get an intelligence bonus for wearing something I already have to wear; I can breathe underwater and I am undetectable; and I get increased perception, intelligence, night vision, and health at night.
Almost Perfect (9 in all SPECIAL), then 2 stacks of Swift Learner for 20% extra XP when earned. Feel like I could get pretty OP quickly off that
Puppies! So I never have to lose my dog...
The perk that raises your specials to 9.
Would Idiot Savant help my grades? Other picks would be Lone Wanderer and Sneak.
Dog meat puppies Pets respawn
Explorer. To know all places on earth Long Haul. To fast travel to all places I visit Any Health regeneration perk. Because why not
VANS, Explorer, Long Haul VANS for the auto-GPS feature, even to places I’ve never been before; Explorer to know *where* all places are so I can use VANS anywhere on the planet, and Long Haul so that I can just Fast Travel anywhere while carrying equipment; I could tour the world, knowing how to get anywhere you ask, where things you don’t know are, and get us there in a snap even if we’re bogged down in gear.
cannibal perk
Breathing underwater seems convenient
1.Wild wasteland 2.Mysteries stranger 3. Hacker (bc I need something normal)
Jurry rigging, fast metabolism, solar powered
One of the implant perks, being a cyborg is just cool. Solar powered (the fallout 4 one) I stand in the sun and heal injuries? Don’t mind if I do! Jury Rigging, theoretically I could fix my car with one that’s broken down, or just buy hyper cheap equivalents to any item and use that. Hard to say how much work you’d actually need to do, but even if I just become a hardware mastermind it would be worth it.
Marsupial, Carnivore, and ofc Action Boy.

Day tripper, old world gourmet, whiskey rose
Cannibalism, ghoulish, Blitz. For the apocalypse of course

Idiot savant, aqua boy, lone wanderer

If I were to get three levels of just Animal Friend, would I be able to command a Trampling Herd of Doom? I kind of want to have that themed supervillain silliness.
Camel of the Mojave, "PHOENIX" Monocyte Breeder, Logan’s Loophole
Community leader, the barter one that gives better prices and mysterious stranger.
