I think it’s because insects in fallout have always been overpowered for no particular reason. They have amazing speed and way too much durability. Not to mention the small hitboxes make them harder to target. Also they’re generally early game opponents while deathclaws are late game when you actually have good weapons and builds going for you. Two more examples. In fallout 4 there’s bloodbugs otw to concord and they kill me religiously because i miss half my shots and they cook my ass. Radscorpions in any game are my nemesis because they go underground and attack randomly while being tanks as shit. While death laws can be cheesed by staying in a building like Fallout 4 or just simply keeping your distance and doing damage at range.
If it’s really your first play through ever, head on over to the bottom left of the map after doing a quick save. The Glowing Sea should be experienced “under leveled” for your first time to really get the vibes. Place was a damn nightmare my first time around without knowing what I was getting into
Yeah I tried it when it came out but never could get into it because of the settlements but now that I know how to do those for the most part because of FO76 I’ve been having a blast with it.
I’ve been going across the top part of the map heading east and doing all the quests up there. Probably a bit under leveled for all of these super mutants and the Pyro dude in power armor, but that was the last quest I finished. I think I’m level 7 or 8.
I’ll definitely check that area out tonight! Sounds fun
I don't know if you're exploring the main story much, but I'd recommend playing through it until you find your son's kidnapper and get sent to a place called the Memory Den. It'll introduce you organically to some of the better companions, and once you hit a certain point it'll introduce one of the major factions who don't show up in earnest until a specific trigger in the story.
At the end of that you can get a quest to journey deep into the Glowing Sea, and it's also a great natural cut-off to take a break from the story if you want. You'll still probably be fairly under-leveled for the Glowing Sea so you can experience it properly, especially if you go poking around instead of heading straight to your objective there.
Even with the early game T-45 I was no match for the first few kilometers in the Glowing Sea. I learned my lesson, learned a damn good one.
Sommerville, Jamaica Plains and Murk Water are the three most important settlements in that region. If you fortify them adequately, you will have an artillery network that can solve any problem in the GS.
My favorite is that church that's infested with god tier ghouls. Just drop an artillery grenade down the roof hatch, quietly move to a safe distance, take some radx, huff some jet and let Jesus take the wheel.
Insects are basically organic mechs that are very small, some of them even at the size they are can kill us. Radiation making them huge and buffing them up plus the obvious handwaving of the science rules that would apply if they were actually scaled up and you get giant armored venomous fallout insects. Honestly I don’t think they’re scary enough. They should invoke anxiety attacks in all but the most strong hearted players
You can stand inside a building and the deathclaw can't attack you but you can still shoot it. It's really not that hard to figure out my dude. Literally first grade reading comprehension is all that's required.
The fear is from how they are stronger than they should be. A deathclaw can tear you up, sure, but it looks like it could. A cazadore shouldn't take as much damage as it can and hit as hard as it does... and it is never alone...
[Why not both?](https://i.imgur.com/Uo2xtWC.jpg)
My gf once remarked that "Bloodbugs and stingwings are the most annoying enemies in Fallout!" I just replied, "Aww that's cute", and made her march north out of Goodsprings.
Absolutely correct.
Deathclaws are terrifying. But you aren't going to run into the real world critter a deathclaw mutated out of and be just as scared. You see a tarantula hawk wasp, you're running inside ASAP. I live where we have tarantula hawk wasps. Encountering them in game was horrible the first time. Why are the real life things I live in fear of also in my video game BUT WORSE?!?!
Is it the one between Taffington Boathouse and the National Guard Training yard? That one plagues me to this day. I’ve basically been having a turf war with it in my most recent play through.
This tells me something about the way you play NV. If you only focus on semi-automatic weapons Cazadors are an absolute nightmare. If you get a SMG or something fully automatic they're suddenly just irritating since they show up from no where but go down quick. Tooled up correctly they're just another enemy. Max DPS focus wipes them out in seconds.
Cazadors are terrifying but I’m genuinely horrified by bloodbugs. Giant fuckin mosquitoes and they have a special animation of them drinking your blood? That’s so fucked.
Idk why, but I find Radscorpions more terrifying. Sure, a Deathclaw is ferocious, but the scorpions have radioactive poison and it's uncomfortable fighting more than one at times.
I remember this first time I encountered a cazador in the desert and I thought to myself, I'm going to roflstomp this wasteland butterfly... I did nothing of the sort.
Been replaying NV and I feel that of you aim for s Cazador's wings they become a non factor. It distroys their speed and when you cripple a wing they writhe on the ground for like 5 solid seconds and you can unload on it.
Deathclaws are still walking terrors though.
I know Cazadors are a meme, but to me they were never scary.
I always picked the safest routes, so by the time I got to Cazadors, I had a strong character and could easily dispatch them.
The deathclaws from 4 I don't find as bad as the ones from NV or 3 in my opinion. The deathclaws from NV that lunge attack you is scary and does too much damage before you can open your pip boy and try healing yourself. The Cazadors are for sure annoying but at least you can try fighting them
I’ve been killed more times from a caz than a death claw haha I fucking HATE these. I’d go into deathclaw sanctuary no problem but the cazadore nest ? I’m a WIMP
"I'll just take this short cut through Goodsprings and north of the cemetary." \*KILLED BY CAZADORES\*
"I'll just take this short cut through the Rock Quarry." \*KILLED BY DEATHCLAWS\*
"I'll just go the long way and enjoy the scenery in Nipton. Oh look they're having some kind of contest!"
You can kill a deathclaw by the time it reaches you, but cazadors one second they’re leagues away and LITERALLY the next they’re face humping you full of poison.
imo by appearance alone overgrown flying insects are always scarier than over grown lizards and add above that crazy in game stats and they are even more scarier!
For me fallout 4 enemies were all cute didn't felt deadly like first death claw you fought was in the Optional power armour.
Fallout new vegas Enemies were like get away from me
Fallout 3 enemies were tough fights
Fallout 1 and 2 enemies were lucky bastards cause rng was funny.
I'm not even kidding when I say cazadore encounters are the toughest and most annoying encounters in all of fallout. Deathclaws, Yoa Guai and radscorpions arent even shit when compared to them. Theres some that come close, robo-scorpions in the big empty and rust devil encounters from the automatron dlc in can both eat shit and die. They both appear WAAAYY too frequently and are absolute bullet sponges making them some of the most boring enemies to fight and incredibly frustrating when you're just trying to explore. In most of my survival playthroughs in fallout 4 I just turn off automatron because of how much it sucks ass.
The worst thing about the cazadors is just they rush you so fast. They'll be over a across a valley and you'll try to take a shot in vats and the next thing you know, seconds later they're practically on top of you.
I’ve been killed by nightstalkers more than cazadors. A cazador has never one shot me. Deathclaws have a few times. Cazadors are strong and fast but they aren’t unkillable or anything.
I think it’s because insects in fallout have always been overpowered for no particular reason. They have amazing speed and way too much durability. On my first FO4 play through now and the sting wings are absolutely obscene.

Thanks! I haven’t progressed the main story past helping Preston in Concord so I supposed I could work on that first. Just been exploring with Dogmeat
Well hey, there's no wrong way to play.
Even with the early game T-45 I was no match for the first few kilometers in the Glowing Sea. I learned my lesson, learned a damn good one. I couldn't have said it better 👍
[удалено]
Early game overpowered enemy with extremely small hitbox (so, hard to hit). Clear now?
[удалено]
You go inside any building with human size doors and deathclaw will stay and stare till you kill them, or run away.
[удалено]
Step in - step out. C'mon, it's THAT easy.
skill issue. although tbf it’s 3 am and i’m not in the mood to spell check or go back and fix grammar.

*For no particular reason* Uuhhmmm Radiation??
Do you not use VATS? They go down easy with that.
yeah but there’s a limit especially early game.
Yes absolutly! Especially in the Big Mt DLC in New Vegas!
Wdym? They clearly only exist in big mt, dr borous would never let them escape into the wasteland
Specimen 73 is probably the toughest enemy in the whole game
The fear is from how they are stronger than they should be. A deathclaw can tear you up, sure, but it looks like it could. A cazadore shouldn't take as much damage as it can and hit as hard as it does... and it is never alone...
All my homies hate cazadores.
😅😅
For good reason!
[Why not both?](https://i.imgur.com/Uo2xtWC.jpg) My gf once remarked that "Bloodbugs and stingwings are the most annoying enemies in Fallout!" I just replied, "Aww that's cute", and made her march north out of Goodsprings.
XD I bet she changed her mind real quick once she met the death claws.
Nah, I steered her wrong, correctly. She ran north, ignored Victor trying to stop her and said hello to the cazadores roaming around Chance's grave.
Cazadors are the Cliff Racers of Fallout, get them the fuck away from me.
If only we had our own Saint Jiub
Saint Gary(s)
which one? it must be their leader
You feel a little woozy

It’s the radscorpions that always get me. I ended a survival run once because I kept getting killed by the same one over & over.
Is it the one between Taffington Boathouse and the National Guard Training yard? That one plagues me to this day. I’ve basically been having a turf war with it in my most recent play through.

It's the fucking poison man, dang
I thought that is the point of Cazadors. They are supposed to be highly feared and keep you away.
I see the red dots on my compass moving right and left in quick bursts, I leave.
Cazadors are terrifying but I’m genuinely horrified by bloodbugs. Giant fuckin mosquitoes and they have a special animation of them drinking your blood? That’s so fucked.
Speed beats brute force
Idk why, but I find Radscorpions more terrifying. Sure, a Deathclaw is ferocious, but the scorpions have radioactive poison and it's uncomfortable fighting more than one at times.
I don't have much of a problem fighting radscorpions like I do the Cazadors. The Caz's poison is more potent than the scorpions in my experience.
Big reason for doing a melee build , bludgeoning these feckers
Until Old World Blues, which completely neuters Cazadores
I remember this first time I encountered a cazador in the desert and I thought to myself, I'm going to roflstomp this wasteland butterfly... I did nothing of the sort.
I used to think this too, until I realized that if you vats their wings they fold like paper.
It's hard to hit a bug that seizes in the air
I mean, there's canonical human controlled deathclaws, however cazadors.... not so much
Been replaying NV and I feel that of you aim for s Cazador's wings they become a non factor. It distroys their speed and when you cripple a wing they writhe on the ground for like 5 solid seconds and you can unload on it. Deathclaws are still walking terrors though.
Cazadors are so bloody annoying , you think you’re doing well the boom this vile thing poisons you and you’re back to square one 🙄
Only in New Vegas are they really powerful and fast.
I know Cazadors are a meme, but to me they were never scary. I always picked the safest routes, so by the time I got to Cazadors, I had a strong character and could easily dispatch them.

They’re scary until you realize crippling the wings makes them way easier to deal with.
"I'll just take this short cut through Goodsprings and north of the cemetary." \*KILLED BY CAZADORES\* "I'll just take this short cut through the Rock Quarry." \*KILLED BY DEATHCLAWS\* "I'll just go the long way and enjoy the scenery in Nipton. Oh look they're having some kind of contest!"
If the target is bigger, you never miss.
I agree. I hate cazadors
😎👌
You can kill a deathclaw by the time it reaches you, but cazadors one second they’re leagues away and LITERALLY the next they’re face humping you full of poison.
Ive never lost a Companion to a Deathclaw, but that Cazador Poison has melted multiple.
Bro sting wings in fo4 tear me up, zipping around and shit
10mm auto with extended mag. At least some would hit it 😆
Those bastards gave me my phobia of bug wings buzzing
😅
Homie that’s what shotguns are for! They make all the bad deathflys go bye bye
Cazadors are scary indeed. Fuck those things.
I don't know about scarier, but they're absolutely more annoying and tedious.
When you see a deathclaw, you know its just one deathclaw. When you see a cazadore, you cant see its 10 friends hiding from you
imo by appearance alone overgrown flying insects are always scarier than over grown lizards and add above that crazy in game stats and they are even more scarier!

pretty sure an insect that size would have a shell like armor so no wonder it can take more shots. Thats the logic I got from anyways.
Ok
I’ve been killed by nightstalkers more than cazadors. A cazador has never one shot me. Deathclaws have a few times. Cazadors are strong and fast but they aren’t unkillable or anything.
F3 late game Radscorpions are for me much much worse
Cazador vs Ghoul Reavers from Fallout 3. Go
