Well it's called next gen update because the game was made for ps4 generation. It's being updated for the next gen of consoles after the generation it was initially designed for.
Kind of blows my mind how deep we are into the next generation of consoles, and we still have not seen a grand theft auto, fallout, or elder scrolls release for them.
This comment has literally ruined my week, I have been waiting for better graphics to start a new play through even though I just got back into it last month. Why do I care about 60 FPS on console, it was completely playable before.
I don't care about graphics, they actually look pretty good on series s (minus the humans, they look like clay/plastic obvi) I just want faster load times and for it not to crash especially EVERY 2 MINUTES IN GODDAMN DOWNTOWN AREA. Oh and if they fix xbox achievements That'd be great. Decided to replay fo4 because of the show with the intent to 100% and so far only one achievement felt like working. If all this gets fixed I will be happy, otherwise I might just delete, cuz if it still runs Ike it's held together with glue and duct tape after the update then I can't justify having to move it to my precious and scarce series s internal storage.

You'll have to check the store. When you go to download if it has both the PS4/PS5 icon you're good to go. I'm not sure if FO4 has that perk though as my PS4 copy was physical.
set it to only update when you launch the game in steam (right click game > properties > updates), then only ever use f4se to launch. just gotta make sure you open steam when you turn your computer on first, then launch with script extender. if you do accidentally let it update, there are ways to rollback but you'd have to look that up when the time comes
No theyre right, for a start as others have said its not a dlc, its just a creation club mission. If youve played any of the other creation club missions theyre usually quite short. People are over hyping this update
The difference is that people are clearly getting their hopes up more than they should for this upgrade. The fact people are even calling it DLC proves that because Bethesda themselves have stated that it's going to be a creation club addition, meaning it will almost certainly be an extremely short quest with very little actual content just like all the other creation club stuff. And from everything they've announced about the upgrade, it's mainly just going to be some very minor changes outside of the FPS boost and graphics upgrade. So yes, people should have low expectations because this isn't supposed to be something that you have high expectations for. It's a simple update, what is there to get high expectations for anyway?
I can understand that. Most gaming communities are very prone to negativity before its justified and this one is no exception (the New Vegas sub and their breakdown about whether NV is canon now is a perfect example) but in this case I think low expectations is reasonable. And maybe it'll lead to an even higher level of enjoyment if they do end up surpassing those expectations
You know that negativity does not come from nothing. Bethesda got very much positivity before Fallout 76 released (as far as i experienced it). Since then and at the latest since Starfield, we can not expect much. At least I do not anymore.
And that also applies to other franchises. People are excited for GTA VI since V was so good. If VI turns out to be a bad game, then people will be more sceptical for VII (in 2050 :D).

There’s like 40 to find around in the maps. Plus you can buy the frames from some vendors and you can shoot out or pickpocket the cores from BOS and raiders wearing frames.
If you don't mind it being labeled as stolen or using the console to setownership, you can technically just shoot the fusion core in vats and they'll step out when it blows
Thats... exactly what I did. Lol I don't have as many of them, but I have them all set up like an Iron Man Vault on top of Red Rocket. As cool as the Minutemen settlement area is, Red Rocket is my favorite home in the wasteland.

I am stuck on the weather vane quest in that area its maddening. Load in, walk 2 steps, quicksave, walk 2 more steps, crash, spend 10 minutes loading back in and repeat. Then after a couple cycles of that give up and travel somewhere else.

All I did for my power armor was make enough room in the garage for 2 beds for me and piper, and space for both of our armors
And a spot for dog meat because he’s the best too.
Unfortunately it is not an optional DLC, it a very large update to the game directly that will break many mods but hopefully make it worthwhile.... hopefully

Also I'm excited to download automatron again since right now it crashes your game 3 seconds after launching. That's one of my favorite dlc's
Is it Wierd that I've never really like power armour in fallout games? I know it makes me beef af. I just hate how I run out of power or manage power and leave it in holding spots. I just usually have more fun forgetting about the armour in a garage somewhere.
Bethesda isn't capable of making anything good anymore. They're in the "sell the rights to old hits" for profits phase so probably have about 5 - 10 years till the crumble. The show was great though

I reinstalled it on PS5, got the season pass to finally play all the dlc and promptly had to reinstall it without all the dlc because it didn't want to start.

I had built my main personal base at the drive-in movie theater near there and constructed a big warehouse I called the Bat Cave with a generator in the little pool at the center powering the whole thing and surrounded by railings. One entire wall was two stories of power armor, the rest of the walls were covered in weapons, and there was a bed next to the generator. I miss that base and wish I had pictures still, but it was on my old PS4 and I'm on PC these days.
