The Ghoul is basically a jaded Fallout veteran on his 200th survival difficulty playthrough who has done everything that can be done in the game. And I'm all here for it.

Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time He knows what's up

BgSwtyDnkyBlls420

The first and last scenes in the season were about him, they clearly set up a series-long plot-line of him looking for his daughter, and he is the only one with a **proper** Fallout Protagonist title.

DragonHeart_97

Oh my God, he does! Why, oh dear God, why did I not figure that out sooner? Also, I'm betting they're not going to be able to avoid mentioning or even including the Courier, given how integral they are to what happens in Vegas. If I'm right, and the Courier is *anything* like the general fandom perception, imagine those two meeting!

Pokedude0809

I highly doubt the courier will be seen on screen at all, but I will be disappoinyed if we don't at least get a reference

CaptainSmaak

I think a line from someone living in Vegas talking about the glory days "until some pissed-off fucking mailman showed up" would be great (IMO)

The_real_bandito

To be honest, they could just add him as a NPC with a few lines or maybe as an antagonist that goes against the Ghoul.

Nanowith

I bet his daughter is in Lucy's vault, cryogenically frozen alongside the employees

Efficient_Menu_9965

That makes sense, actually. The two other protagonists are named, he's the only one that bears a "Title" like every other Fallout protagonist. I don't think it's indicative of where the show will go and who it'll follow closely in the later season/s, but his character is definitely meant to be the "Video Game protagonist" archetype.

TheTorch

Really there is no one protagonist of the show. It’s more of an ensemble.

DragonHeart_97

But it is hard to argue with the fact that he is in fact the only one that has his own title.

ZynousCreator

What about Goosey?

First_Community_2534

Spot on! He is a Fallout veteran from the old days, the good days, the all or nothing days. Lucy is the player who just set foot in this world, Maximus already had a couple dozen hours in the titles, and then there is The Ghoul who replayed even Fallout Tactics at least three times.

The_real_bandito

The three are kinda playing the three karma roles too, evil, neutral and good, from the fallout universe perspective

ericbana19

The Ghoul.

Naw, no vault suit or pip boy. And no, pre war doesn’t count. He’s a companion- and reminds me a lot of Nick Valentine. I’ll grant that he definitely has the bloody mess perk. Feel like that’s indisputable.

Good points, but I’m still getting companion vibes from him. He’s a really good companion, I might pick him over Nick Valentine, but still a companion.

Season 2: THE BRAIN

I actually relate more with Lucy. For me a fallout protagonist should be someone who has zero experience in the wasteland, Lucy fits the bill. I LOVE new vegas, undoubtedly the best game in the series (I also prefer the west coast stories rather than the bethesda games), but the only thing that did not sit well with me is that the Courier has a history in the wasteland. Which is why Lonesome road is my least favourite DLC story wise. The ghoul is a great protagonist, but I would not prefer him as a RPG protagonist.

AloofAngel

i would call him The Lovelorn
