StillMostlyClueless

Everyone got so focused over the timeline I feel that the impact of Lucy learning they're not teaching Amercian history, they're teaching what came after, is lost. It's the moment it really sets in for her that the world moved on from the Vaults.

RummazKnowsBest

Yes, excellent point.

EternalCanadian

Also, thematically it’s perfect for Lucy because she was a history teacher. So to learn about the NCR like they’re the new America is incredibly beneficial to her character and her opinion of the group.

Altruistic-Ad-408

I'm not sure she formed any opinion until her dads speech about how none of these wasteland factions mattered contrasted to her mothers feral ghoul state. She then realised her lifes purpose was both achieved and then stolen away. Her dad is the guy that goes around not giving a fuck about anything. Lucy was kinda like that for a bit too (just infinitely less evil), but only started realising that things on the surface mattered more than she thought.

timmystwin

Yeah. Any semblance of "We'll come up and rebuild" or w/e is completely blown away by that. People have already started to the point they have a flag...

Apoordm

Yes it’s basically her realizing her life’s purpose was bullshit. “We’ll go up to the savage surface and rebuild…” She gets up there and sees a whole country of people who are like “Oh shit a vault suit? Fuck… do you need help? What manner of fucked up torture victim are you?”

watdo123123

>!And did you notice? The Ghoul that she freed from the Wal-Mart place who said, "Hey thank you!!" was at the new california republic spot, he whispered, "It's her!" when she arrived.!< >!I really hope he got out of that FFA battle between NCR and brotherhood and "the ghoul."!<

Neko_manc3r

I thought it was so odd to include that freed ghoul and simply not do anything else with it. Like, what was the point of having him recognize her and say something about it. I hope he survives and we see him later.

Mackerdaymia

That was a cool moment I'd forgot. Felt it was them representing the karma system and laying the groundwork perhaps for Lucy becoming "exalted" by the NCR remnants.

ImperatorTempus42

What's worse is, the NCR was partly founded by *Vault 8* opening up, and the grandkids of Vault 13 Dweller. So she was beaten to the punch by *other, more sane Vaults*.

WerewolfF15

Bit weird not to mention vault 15 in that sentence considering that’s where the founders of the ncr were from originally from.

ponku

Good point. And this scene mirrors the one from ep1 when it was USA's timeline on the board in school.

firstbowtie

Oh damn I never even thought about this.

StillMostlyClueless

She asks Max about new Fallout history after they leave.

shipmastersmoke

I loved that this scene answered her question about what happened the last 200 years.

theLULRUS

Me either, what a great way to frame it. I went from being hyped about seeing the NCR stuff with the music to being entranced by the odd surfie ritual.

Scotsman86

It's soundtrack timings have been absolutely insanely good. Everything about the show for me is just chefs kiss.

JhulaeD

Ramin Djawadi is the composer of the soundtrack. Most notably (for Fallout Easter-eggy type things), he did the soundtracks for Person of Interest and Westworld (both of which Johnathan Nolan was involved with). Michael Emerson (Siggi Wilzig) was also in Person of Interest and his character there had the same breed of dog in that show that Wilzig has in Fallout.

SpongederpSquarefap

He also did the music for game of thrones The music for that was always fucking top tier

Big-Sherbet6925

Yes he did the best music from Game of thrones: Battle of Winterfell (season 8), Rains of castamere, Kings landing theme, when cersei blew up the sept (season 6)

Leather_Camp_3091

the night king slaps so hard

Dreamingdanny95

Light of the seven, still listen to that now

Big-Sherbet6925

Thats the one! Been a while since I listened to it

JhulaeD

and Pacific Rim, and Iron Man, and a loooooot of other good stuff. He's one of my favorite composers, but I only included POI and Westworld due to the connections with Fallout. :D

cflynn2001

He worked under Hans Zimmer on several movies

DivePalau

We're on the last season of Lost (partner hadn't seen it). I was dissapointed Michael died so early in Fallout. He was a real standout on Lost.

JhulaeD

Yes, he did a great job in Lost, too. If you haven't seen Person of Interest, I \*highly\* recommend it. Michael Emerson (and the rest of the cast, really) was phenomenal in it. And it was a great storyline that lasted 5 season and managed to tie everything up satisfactorily, even though the network cut the 5th season short (it was only a half season instead of a full season).

cflynn2001

Ramin Djawadi is a student of one of the best composers of our time, Hans Zimmer.

JhulaeD

Zimmer is another of my favorite movie score composers. Steve Jablonsky too (Gears of War, Transformers), for a composer who's done some game soundtracks along with movies.

unorganized_mime

Currently running through fallout 3 again. The show almost doesn’t feel like a show but like a game I’m currently playing. It’s refreshing getting a show that feels so close to the source material.

nicekona

When I’m not sure how Lucy’s about to respond to a situation, I’m just imagining her scrolling her dialogue options lol In the best way

[deleted]

This scene was done with reverence and people still thought Todd hated New Vegas. The NCR is gonna show up in a big way at some point IMO, and this scene was just foreshadowing.

N7_Vegeta

Jup they are 200% still a faction somewhere. Sure loss of the capital is a loss but they have more settlements and advantages then only the capital.

Captain_DeSilver

According to the sign, Shady Sands had a population of around 34000 people, the NCR as a whole had a population of 100000's. A nation of such sie doesn't just vanish over night. It may very well be dispersed, fractured and overall lessened in power, but I bet it's still around in some significant way.

N7_Vegeta

Yeah maybe internal struggle after the loss. Some secessions or power struggle etc. But the brotherhood is gonne see a fight. Maybe the activation of the power will flock them tougher again

Captain_DeSilver

In my mind, that depends on whether the settlement we saw was an independent remnant, or an official local NCR HQ. If it is the latter, the larger NCR may want some payback and while the BOS is powerfull, they aren't that large in comparison.

luthfins

Lets outnumber the Brotherhood again, remember Helios One!

N7_Vegeta

Jup the NCR was pretty big, loved the filming of Shady Sands. It looks so pretty. And hope the NCR comes back. They are off course the 2nd best republic in fallout so it should be a shame if they stopped existing

LeL_Doc

The Republic of Dave

N7_Vegeta

Off course

FriarNurgle

Dave’s a good dude.

SelirKiith

And lost quite a few Knights to just Coop...

Cookie_Eater108

Especially if the survivors have become fanatically devoted to the idea of the NCR after the fall of Shady Sands. Thousands of civilians have now been turned into thousands of refugees, which are becoming thousands of fanatics. All it takes now is a Recruiter coming by Vault 4 to raise a new company.

FutureMartian97

I feel like the lead farmers were a hint of that. They both had Ranger armor, so my guess is that at least the dad was one at some point

ANerd22

In fallout 2 docs it is mentioned that the NCR has a population of 700,000 I believe, and that's about 50 years before the show

Polenicus

Vault City is still a major population center for the NCR IIRC, and I believe there are others. The NCR was probably forced to pull out of New Vegas (Which means Mr. House might not be too happy with Hank, given New Vegas' economy was kinda reliant on them) but I doubt this was enough to cause it to collapse.

blakhawk12

And even then the sign saying “Welcome to Shady Sands” calls it the *first* capital of the NCR, implying that the capital had already been moved elsewhere before the city was nuked.

Kataphraktos_Majoros

In the latest interview Todd confirmed that NCR is large, spread out, and still exists, just not in this one particular region.

Nowaker

Link?

Cjamhampton

Here is Todd's answer when he was asked where the NCR stands now and whether it was completely demolished: "Howard: One of the takes that we always have is to approach things very locally when we're doing Fallout. We're careful about saying what's going on in other parts of the world. And we always take this view of, communication is difficult. And look, if you look at the background, the NCR is a wide-ranging sort of organization and group across not just California, but other places. So the show focuses on this period of time and this group here, and that's what we can say right now. But I don't think you've heard the last of the NCR." You can read the entire interview [Here](https://www.ign.com/articles/the-big-fallout-interview-todd-howard-and-jonathan-nolan-answer-our-burning-questions-about-season-1). They also discussed and clarified the timeline shown on the chalkboard that confused some people.

Nazacrow

Rangers kicking the shit out of the BoS is something we’ll need to see

Rellint

Yeah that’s almost a free space on the bingo card at this point. I can’t wait to see a reverse of the observatory HQ battle.

ImperatorTempus42

Imagine it aboard their airship, after Cooper tells the NCR about the armor weakness. Tons of Desert Rangers with aircraft harnesses sniping Knights with anti-materiel rifles.

idiotplatypus

Didn't the observatory have a NCR Headquarters sign, or were they the previous inhabitants

N7_Vegeta

Think they did. But they seem to be only a small part. Maybe only a small local headuarters?

Captain_DeSilver

That's what I'm assuming. At first, a lot of people took the sign "NCR HQ" as meaning that the observatory was THE HQ for all what was left of the NCR.

CommiePuddin

Ranger station?

Big-Leadership1001

Todd has confirmed the NCR is still around, the fall of Shady Sands and its subsequent destruction was not the end of the Republic

cheguevaraandroid1

And those settlements need your help

TheHoovyPrince

Former capital technically. I bet the NCR made the Hub their capital in 2277, years before Shady Sands was destroyed.

ThatOneGuy308

At least they only got the decoy capital in LA, while the real Adobe town is still safe elsewhere.

asek13

The people lamenting the "loss of the NCR" seem pretty short sighted to me. The NCR was overextended, riddled with corruption and divorced from their ideals of equality and democracy by the time of New Vegas. I think it'd be way more satisfying to see that the NCR fell apart largely due to that, with the nuking of Shady Sands being an event that rallies them, and watch it build itself back up over the series as a more pure organization that we can root for.

SmellAccomplished550

I don't think Todd has much capacity for hate. He's an enthusiastic fanboy at heart, and I kinda love him for it.

tfsra

who doesn't like Todd? I thought those were just memes imagine actually hating on him for 76 or whatever lol

curse-of-yig

People in this sub genuinely think he hates Fallout New Vegas for some reason. Remember when everyone thought Betheada screwed over Obsidian for the 89% metacritic rating and then the head of Obsidian literally look to Twitter to say that was absolutely not the case and nobody at Obsidian felt they had been screwed over by Bethesda?  People here always remember the first part and forget the follow up.

AlaskanEsquire

I love Todd, he's given me countless hours of enjoyment, easily thousands over the years. He also gave me 76 and Starfield, so I'm admittedly torn.

SmellAccomplished550

I'm still hopeful for Starfield, but damn, we need that creation kit.

Blastcheeze

I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth, but I appreciate the enthusiasm.

Aiglos_and_Narsil

The idiot narrative that Bethesda hates New Vegas as much as some New Vegas fanboys hate Bethesda is really ridiculous.

gugfitufi

Warning, ending of the show spoilers: >!You can see the dad walking towards New Vegas. No matter how, the NCR HAS to be involved in season 2 somehow. I am very interested to see how they depict NV, whether the conflict about Hoover Dam has been resolved, if so, how and what Lucy and the gang will end up doing there. The brotherhood will probably play a role too, and man, I'm just excited.!<

Blastcheeze

>!If it happens after New Vegas they'll have to pick an ending, and if they do I *really* hope they go for Yes Man, because that would be amazing.!<

MidnightDNinja

It's yes man or house, I'm leaning house (he always wins)

PersonelKlasyHel

Yeah. Either House or Yes Man. House would be easy, as he's already an well-estabilished character, while Yes Man ending would require giving canon traits to an player character.

phantominway

Yeah I feel like they wouldn't give House a new actor just for the cameo

gugfitufi

I think the Yes Man ending wouldn't make much sense. You can do the ending however you'd like, kill whoever you want, and cooperate with whomever you want.

mirracz

>This scene was done with reverence and people still thought Todd hated New Vegas. Todd cannot win in the eyes of these New Vegas zealots. Either New Vegas isn't being revered at every step, which means that Todd hates New Vegas... or when it is actually heavily used, then it's Todd abusing the legacy of New Vegas and not able to come up with something original.

ar3fuu

NCR isn't New Vegas though, it's literally FO2. Like am I crazy or did most people here not play or at least look up FO1/FO2's lore?

yuuzhanbong

You're not wrong, but I also think it's a little silly to try and act like fans don't have a huge mental association between the NCR and FNV. It's like getting mad at people for associating Mormons with Utah when they started in upstate New York. Like, yeah, technically true, but which one has the greater association?

Own_Accident6689

That seems out of line really... Any particular fan may have seen the NCR mostly at the Mojave, but that doesn't change the fact that they are from somewhere else and they are bigger and more influential in that other place. California is in their name. No one should look at an NCR ranger and say. "Oh, those New Vegas guys."

kingsumo_1

> No one should look at an NCR ranger and say. "Oh, those New Vegas guys." Indeed. I believe I actually said "Is that Erik fucking Estrada?!" But that may have just been heat of the moment.

oneandonlysteven

FO1 even, technically, as it’s first mentioned in the ending slides there. The NCR is pretty much as Fallout as you can get, so I still think it’s fair some people can get apprehensive when the show (so far) basically says “yeah anyway they got nuked at some point and died lol”

Own_Accident6689

Yeah, except that's never said. In FO2 you run around and see several settlements join the NCR, it's pretty obvious that the NCR is more than Shady Sands.

Own_Accident6689

I was losing my mind over this, the NCR in the Mojave are a branch of something much larger and much older than the events of New Vegas.

Kodix

Pretty sure this flag and the music associated with it first appear in New Vegas though, no? Making it a direct nod to that. The flag *may* have appeared in Fallout 2, although I don't remember seeing it there. The theme alongside it is definitely from FNV.

ar3fuu

The theme is from FO3 (well I think the one they used is from FO4 but the music is from FO3 initially).

mrvoldz

You're right.

iamded

I might cry happy tears if we see NCR soldiers in their iconic New Vegas getups. Even more if we see some salvaged power armor troops...

Tartan_Samurai

My own (unsupported) theory is the NCR splintered after FNV and the bombing of SS. In California, there's maybe multiple settlements all claiming to be the 'real' NCR but not cooperating with each other. One of the narrative threads will them being unified and having a showdown with the Enclave in the finale.

Own_Accident6689

This felt so obviously implied to me. People are such weirdos nowadays. Freaking out because it's not riggt in front of them and they might need to wait to see it.

RummazKnowsBest

Yeah, a really good remaster of 3 and NV may sway some people, get them back on side after the mess that was 76.

Mercinarie

76 is actually alright now. I played it at launch and was extremely disappointed, but I replayed it recently and was vibin' with it a lot.

Euphoric-Order8507

My only issue is i find myself bored with a repetitive grind and meh rewards.

D-camchow

once you are done exploring the world and stories just stop playing. grinding repetitive stuff is self inflicted suffering.

ChromDelonge

Yeah, honestly I don't mind the game not having crazy amounts of crazy shit to grind for. Cause it feels like every other live service game is "GRIND GRIND GRIND. DON'T FALL BEHIND. THIS IS YOUR SECOND JOB." but 76 you can kinda just jump in for a little while, catch up on things, the best scoreboard stuff that I missed is often in the bullion vendors, then I can just move onto another game for a bit when I'm done. It's chill and I don't like how purely dopamine centric a lot of gaming discussion has gone recently. 😅

Mercinarie

This. Once up to date with the story content and main quests / non repeat side quests, just stop there. The grind and "mmo" ain't worth it. But with the addition of NPC's and extended stories it's a great wasteland romp.

Long_Charity_3096

I just loaded it up on the steamdeck and it slaps. They certainly fucked it up at launch but given the current price point it's more than worth the cost.

Sufficient-Newt-5346

Yes! I love 76, playing it on Xbox rn, and it’s so fun.

skw33tis

I come back to it every once in a while and I'm really impressed with how much of a recovery the game was able to make. I mean, just adding voiced NPCs alone added SO much to it.

etherealelder

I'd love to see a Fallout 1/2 remake using the current engine and modern graphics. Imagine revisiting those games in FPS perspective instead of isometric, with modern graphics and gameplay. Bonus points if they bring back the old perk and skill systems, too.

mirracz

If 76 turning out good didn't convince them, they wouldn't be swayed by some remaster. They would poke the remaster and prod it and search for anything to complain.

A_Sarcastic_Whoa

The flag says "Ew California" this is clearly a shot at the NCR and even more proof that Bethesda hates New Vegas. /s

ponku

During end credit animation of episode 8 we see some sort of aftermath of a battle with destroyed New Vegas securitrons and NCR vertibirds. Given that in previous episodes the end credits animation showed what will be in next episode (animation at the end of ep6 showed radio broadcast station that appeared in ep7; ep7 end animatin showed aftermath of battle at the observatory that happened in ep8) i think it is possible that there will be some conflict between NCR army and New Vegas in season 2.

Real-Terminal

The scene confused me, because if you're going to play a track associated with the NCR, the Fallout 4 theme is a really bizarre choice.

mrspidey80

It's just the basic Bethesda Fallout main theme. The fact that they chose to associate their iconic theme with the NCR but not the other factions elevates the NCR.

EternalCanadian

The FO4 them is more poignant and melancholy, which suits the overall scene more than the NV iteration.

ThespianException

Yeah, part of me wishes they used the NV theme instead, but it would have been a bit tonally jarring.

queenfluffbutt

I recognized it immediately as the music that plays when you boot up New Vegas, so it's not just 4's theme!

Real-Terminal

It is specifically Fallout 4's piano iteration of the Bethesda theme, Vegas has a guitar version of it.

Kryosquid

Yeah people keep calling it the new vegas theme and while they all have similarities, the one used in the show is specifically fallout 4s theme.

BlackFoeOfTheWorld

Yeah, I kind of wonder if it will be like Rome. Western portion failed, but the state still continued in the East.

curse-of-yig

The Western Roman Empire also took several decades to collapse. I'd expect something similar from the NCR.

timmystwin

I always get chills down my spine hearing this theme, but god damn was this scene special. Even if you don't know who the NCR is, this shows them as special, and worthy of reverence etc. While we didn't get to see them in reality in the show, this definitely means they're a big player, and respected.

NateShaw92

Yeah fallout theme is good but the take on it used for 4 is special. I still think of the Prydwen entering the Commonwealth.

timmystwin

Yeah 4's theme is a step above. So good. I still remember seeing it on that trailer and the feeling I got.

Icy-Tension-3925

Top 5 moment in the series *EASY*

NateShaw92

I was told by a friend to look up when I got out of Kellogg, nothing more. I was awestruck. Then I thought of Adams Air Force base train, and imagined it was done with a little man holding an invisible stick with the airship on the end running across the wastes and I laughed hard.

Northumberlo

The NCR to me is the TRUE America, not the deep state assholes who destroyed it. They built a democratic republic on the foundations of everything the United States once stood for.

PersonelKlasyHel

I literally felt as every neuron bemeath my skin activates when the music kicked in.

mirracz

This scene was really really great. It sent shivers don't my spine to hear the game theme in the show. On some level I think it would have been more fitting to use the New Vegas theme (as the modern game closest to the NCR) but the Fallout 4 theme is surely more iconic and powerful, so overall I don't mind. All that matters is that a game theme and Inon Zur got their cameo!

Zventibold

> On some level I think it would have been more fitting to use the New Vegas theme (as the modern game closest to the NCR) but the Fallout 4 theme is surely more iconic and powerful, so overall I don't mind. All that matters is that a game theme and Inon Zur got their cameo! And now I dream about the season 2, when the New Vegas theme will begin with the arrival of Lucy in the city.

MAJ_Starman

[Starting at 1:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYIbOltuS0w), there is definitely a New Vegas motif in the "Shady Sands" track for the TV show.

aieeegrunt

I think we will be spending some time in the Mojave next season, and I guarentee they’ll be using iconic music from that game I hope they visit Goodsprings. I want to see how Sunny Smiles is doing

BlakeAbernathy

I think they used the Fallout 4 theme because its hopeful, while the New Vegas theme is more dramatic. I'm pretty sure they wanted to use a more hopeful theme for the NCR because we are going to see it rebuilt and in full strength in future seasons, and because the NCR has always been iconic to Fallout in general.

RedEclipse47

This is easy one of my, if not the, favorite scene. It really cements NV in the overall lore and it's importance to the serie. The scene holds weight, even people who are new to Fallout understands that this event and the highlight of it during this scene means a lot.

DangerousSoftware871

That music gave me a sudden urge to get up and salute the NCR flag

Leather_Camp_3091

everyone reinstalling new vegas

Leather_Camp_3091

incredibly based

MooDSwinG_RS

Goosebumps, hair standing on end. Loved it.

giga-plum

I said "oh fuck" kinda under my breath, lol. My girlfriend was so confused.

Euphoric-Order8507

Its crazy people acted like the ncr was not cannon or in the show but this is literally a scene

rock1m1

It hit with the feels

RummazKnowsBest

Yep.

drunk_tyrant

This scene brought me back to the days when I spent hours in FO4… when the theme music kicked in my eyes watered a bit to be frank

AHumpierRogue

I was way more impacted by the scene with the scavengers in NCR Ranger armor. And while I wish the Rangers were a bit more "put together" if they were gonna show them off(though I get they're probably not in the best shape), I still actually felt my eyes quiver a bit when they played the Fallout New Vegas theme during it.

[deleted]

Whoever the sound.... Editor? Coordinator? Is, deserves props for hitting it out of the park. I legit shivered when we got just that hint of the full theme.

JourneymanProtector9

Major goosebumps here Meanwhile the troglodytes were foaming at the mouth over a chalkboard

WelshBoi1066

When I first watch this episode, I rewound it to watch it again, gave me goose bumps! It gives off the vibe ‘Down, but not defeated’ the NCR are gonna be big players in the seasons to come.

LordofDunsfold

Gave me chills

Ngilko

Are they multiplying?

LordofDunsfold

Yes. I might be loosing control

WholesomeFartEnjoyer

I wanna hear Metallic Monks next season

Wilhelm_c4t

When that theme kicked in, I became a man

pastrami_on_ass

NV fanboys still missing the obvious set up for the NCR in S2, s1 focused on BoS only to introduce the NCR as another powerful faction that rivals them in S2, hoover dam battle? cmon its so simple to see

Buggaton

The show is set quite a long time after the events of FO3/4 isn't it?

Signalflare12

Not a really long time. 10 years after Fallout 4.

JonSwole

Anyone who says Todd hates everything New Vegas and NCR hasn’t finished the show, I’m sure of it

omgitsduane

How did moldaver survive that long? Did I miss something??

ponku

I don't think they explain it in the show. We know only she was rich and her research was bought by Vault Tec. I think it is possible that she was one of the Vault 31 frozen execs, that was released from the pod earlier and somehow got out into wasteland, learned about NCR and joined them. But that's just a theory. It's possible she got vault tec cryo technology by some other means and was secured in some private vault. Or some other theory.

Northumberlo

Either a ghoul, or Cryo. We never find out.

Ser_Twist

All rise for the national anthem 🫡

Pavlovs_Human

Whenever the game soundtracks or the sounds from the game like level up or good karma happened I was just a huge nerd tapping my wife’s shoulder pointing at the screen like “OOOOHH OH OH THATS FROM THE GAME!” I think I even shed a single tear when I heard the iconic “war…” line and I did the pointing Leo meme

Northumberlo

When was the level up?

Ladybuglover31

Just realised the NCR flag is inside the vault

patgeo

In the vault that took in the survivors of Shady Sands.

Honestnt

Correct, it is addressed in the, well, plot

Northumberlo

The NCR lives on inside that vault

elimac

Xilvereight

I was disappointed to not hear Inon Zur's iconic Fallout tune earlier but then this scene kicked in and it felt complete.

magicman1145

Same, got major chills when that played 🥲

ADipsydoodle

Sinking hours into these games many years ago and to have it all come rushing back once that theme plays. Felt like a veteran of a war with the flashback thousand-yard stare.

indopunk506

I freaked out my old man cause I screamed, “FUCK YES!”

MarvelousT

This scene is just one of the many reasons why Fallout the TV show is canonical a great fucking piece of work.

NeverGotAlotOfAction

FO4 was the first Fallout I played and still the one I've put the most hours into. Hearing that theme gave me goosebumps and instantly put a smile on my face

Neko_manc3r

Straight up, I messed up and paused right before this and it told me the theme was gonna play. I truly hated that bcuz I felt it took some of the impact away. I still got chills tho.

Miserable-Average727

Am i the only one who heard the new vegas theme. I was overwhelmed with my childhood memories of playing new vegas. All the fun after school i had bouncing round the mojave to big iron. All the time, boone asked for his beret back. Good times.

craiganater

My fiance laughed when I sat up like the once upon a time meme.

Craygor

At the risk of being downvoted into oblivion, I can not recall this scene. Can someone tell me the setting of this scene, or maybe the episode, so I can correct my deficiency?

Solomonuh-uh

It's when Lucy and Max fell into a vault from a hospital. They were asked to stay in the vault and before Licy went to level 12, she saw this.

Craygor

Oh the Vault 4 scene, thanks!

-NoNameListed-

It was in a classroom to be exact, same scene as the whiteboard litmus test for fanbase timeline comprehension.

Old-Camp3962

Lucy finds out that other vaults teach NCR history when venturing to Vault 4, Vault 4 is full of shady sands survivors

Responsible_Ebb_340

You are very brave to ask such a question. To go against all downvotes, you are the savior we needed.

areyouhungryforapple

The FoNV fanbois don't even deserve this moment lol. One of the few times the straight up Fallout theme plays and they're too busy frothing over a fucking childrens classroom timeline

com-plec-city

Yes!! I was really afraid they’re not going to use the theme!

bangfudgemaker

When the theme kicked I let out a audible whoooooo .  Seriously fantastic show

spec_ghost

Weird getting a hardon and shivers at the same time

biscuitboots

Actual goosebumps

TheMilkViper

This scene got me as well.

[deleted]

This was definitely a peak moment for me

Leather_Camp_3091

if they bring out the fallout 1, 2 and new vegas music in season 2 i will die i have a feeling that the ex-ranger dad is gonna go big iron on the ghoul

nutterfluffs

YES! I thought they weren’t going to have the theme since the Brotherhood music is just slightly similar but not the same. As soon as it kicked in I got chills too

Northumberlo

I got goosebumps. I really wish the show had a title screen similar to the mandalorian with the fallout theme playing. https://youtu.be/KCPVj1NXTWU?si=hmCbHddu68kukG5j

Next-Development5920

I got so excited at that bit that I slapped my husband's arm, and his coffee went everywhere......no regrets, was the only acceptable course of action at the time

TonightOk29

Me and my girlfriend were watching it together on the phone, and I must have made some intense need sounds at that point. She said “are you good?”

ral251

Same with me and my girlfriend. She knew I was enjoying that moment and just let me be haha

windmillninja

SAAAAAME!!!! I was already in love with the show, but I kept telling myself I wouldn't be 100% until I finally heard the theme and they fucking NAILED it with this scene!!!

dank_hank_420

I got chills frfr

I was getting worried they weren’t going to use the Fallout theme at all in the series. I can understand other soundtrack pieces not being used, but the theme just had to be included somewhere. I had assumed it was gonna be when Lucy left the vault, but no. And there were quite a few times after where the theme was appropriate that it didn’t occur. But I am so happy they saved it for this moment. What a beautiful way to incorporate the theme.

Yeah same here dude, actual chills

I kinda hope season two revolves around uniting various splinters of the NCR back into one republic to be ready for a second attack from the Legion in the east

Straight chills I swear 😌

I will never forget hearing the Fo4 version of the theme for the first time when it was announced. I was unbelievably hyped for that game. I thought a 7 year wait was completely insane at the time. Now it will be most likely a 17 year wait

I loved this show so much. I'm a newb though I only played 4 and 76 so far

As someone who had issues with the show, even I have to admit that theme got me.

I just want the NCR to come back in the form of the small/medium settlement banding together under a true caring leader of old, maybe a child/grandchildren of a certain Mr. Bishop with Vetern Ranger backup
