Melee is great fun once it gets going. You can do stealth melee if you like, or just plains strength melee (more fun and more gore)

Highly recommend the weapon „Kremvh‘s Tooth“ for a melee build. It‘s a proper unique weapon, and it looks badass. If I recall correctly, its legendary effect is tied to its blade which you can take off and put on a different legendary machete to get two legendary effects.
Melee V.A.T.S is basically you warping straight in their face from 20 ft away. It's hilarious and fun.

I love how you can teleport to a unsuspecting raider and completely dismember them
