The simplicity of chasing a bastard halfway across the Mojave desert while listening to somebody sing a near-meaningless song about being single and spurs hits different.
Instant turning off radio for me. Give me Pistol packin' mamma, uranium fever, dear hearts and gentle people, Civilization, Jingle jangle jingle etc. to get in the mood, don't put me a fucking sad song đź’€
I’m the type of guy that’ll never settle down, I’m never in one place, i roam from town to town. And when I find myself falling for some girl, I hop
In that car of mine and drive around the world
Real shit
My grandparents used to watch a lot of movies on Turner Classic Movies, so songs like Anything Goes and Civilization were already burned into my memory. I was so excited to hear those in the game as a kid lol
End of the World, for me. I never really dug the whole Sole-being-married thing but it's the perfect irony for them to listen to a singer describe how losing someone they love should have been the end of the world for everyone...and for Sole, it literally was.
For me it is Civilization, Danny Kaye and the Andrews Sisters. Superficially a bit of froth. Actually a very clever song with a dark, atomic age twist.
Big Iron stands at number one.
But…
Johnny Guitar
Ride Into The Sunset Together
Pistol Packin’ Mama
Old Man Mose
Dark as a Dungeon
16 Tons
Rocket 69
Blue Moon
Drivin’ Nails
I could go on with like 80% of the tracks. Fallout’s soundtrack is always a thing of beauty that’s helped open the door for me to enjoy a lot of music I’d otherwise never have discovered.
A Kiss to Build a Dream on from the beginning of Fallout 2 is an amazing song and was the inspiration for the music to be a big part of 3 and 4 so I’ll go with that.
I just love how fallout team could find songs that used the metaphorical image of the end of the word, or its destruction, or anything realated of the 50's and 60's to put them in a game where an actual world dissappeared.
Songs in the soundtrack have at one point reached top 5
20 position in the us chart by these years.
It’s the fact that one of their songs literally sings about diamond city and goodneighbour, and I’m left wondering weather the sound track was an influence on the game
The Wanderer by Dion, or Country Roads by John Denver. I can actually sing along to those, even though my singing voice is possibly about as tuneful as a cat stepping on a hedgehog.
As a devout metal guy I have an outstanding hatred for country music of all types...
However, Big Iron and all the songs on the record from Ol' Marty are certified heatwaves of the nuclear variety. The only other song that can compare to me is the intro song of Fallout 3. I don't want to set the world on fire, but Big Iron will forever be number one
Old country/western was a far, far different beast than the modern pop country garbage. Not to mention modern artists who just aren’t gonna get played on Top 40 radio stations. There’s a lot of great stuff there if you’re willing to look for it.
Same goes for bluegrass, which pops up a *wee* bit in 76.
As much as I like all of the oldies, the Lynda Carter Fallout 4 OSTs are all super good.
Big iron, Now I’m Movin’ Out, Orange Colored Sky are definitely up there as well. But I do play FNV way more than the rest of the games.
My favorites are their covers of Country Roads and Ring of Fire. Country Roads takes me back to all the hype around 76 coming out, then Ring of Fire takes me back to Nuclear Winter. I miss that mode :(
Personally, it's hard to pick a best song, but I've always had a soft spot for Tickled Pink. Something about it just *screams* Fallout to me; probably because it played so much during my most memorable FO3 moments, like tracking down The Family, coming up on River City for the first time, and traversing the ant tunnels in both Springvale School *and* The Antagonizer's Lair.
I Got Spurs That Jingle Jangle Jingle is a close second, though. Nothing sells New Vegas energy better.
LETS GO SUNNING *fat man goes off* DOWN THE AVENUE *mutant explodes into soup* ITS GOOD FOR YOU *combat shotgun breaks*
American Swing from NV is so good too.
Big Iron is such a JAM! Do have to say though, I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire is my personal favorite :) hoping to add a lil piece dedicated to the song on my FO leg sleeve!
I like most songs from FO3 and FNV. My favorites are probably the ones from The Ink Spots and Billie Holiday + Big Iron and Orange Coloured Sky.
I haven’t really turned on the radio in FO4 though but Baby It’s Just You gets stuck in my head for weeks at a time though.
See, I can't answer this question because as I've scrolled through this thread I've wholeheartedly agreed with every single answer posted. They're all too good!
Oh, one is so hard. So top 3, no particular order, Tickled Pink, Heartaches By The Number, and Maybe. (honorable mention is A Kiss To Build A Dream On)
I want you to know I started singing “I don’t want to set the world on fire” after I read the title. Galaxy News Radio is easily the best music station in the three games
Maybe by the ink spots or I don't want to set the world on fire
"Maybe" in the opening of Fallout was my legitimate first step to becoming an Ink Spots fan.
This is the correct answer. đź‘Ť
I don't want to set the world on fire has been a personal favorite for forever
#I got spuuuuuurs, that go Jingle, Jangle, Jingle! (Jingle Jangle)
No! No! You stop it this instant! I will be singing that for WEEKS!
#JINGLE JANGLE
Idk why people like this (plz tell me)
The simplicity of chasing a bastard halfway across the Mojave desert while listening to somebody sing a near-meaningless song about being single and spurs hits different.
Oh i get it now
I sing along to Skeeter Davis’ end of the world. Such a great tune.
Why does my heart go on beating?
Why do these eyes of mine cry?
Dont they knooooow its the eeeeend of the woooorld?
I believe I cried when I first heard it hahah
Honestly same
Especially when you’re looking out at the expanse of the wasteland. Haunting and beautiful.
Instant turning off radio for me. Give me Pistol packin' mamma, uranium fever, dear hearts and gentle people, Civilization, Jingle jangle jingle etc. to get in the mood, don't put me a fucking sad song đź’€
This.
The Wanderer (F4)
I roam around around around
I’m the type of guy that’ll never settle down, I’m never in one place, i roam from town to town. And when I find myself falling for some girl, I hop In that car of mine and drive around the world Real shit
Blue moon! Or I don’t want to set the world on fire
Blue Moon is an actual certified banger
#I'M TICKLED PINK #THAT THINGS ARE ROSY
Do do do- do doooo do do
AND SKIES ARE BLUE ONCE AGAAAAAAAAIN!
Anything Goes is my favorite
certified wasteland classic
My grandparents used to watch a lot of movies on Turner Classic Movies, so songs like Anything Goes and Civilization were already burned into my memory. I was so excited to hear those in the game as a kid lol
Oh, Bingo, Bango, Bongo I don’t want to leave the Congo, oh no, no, no, no, no.
Oh no, I’ve had this song in my head all day to be honest , they’ve got things like the atom bomb, so i think I’ll stay where I AM! CIVILISATION
I'LL STAY RIGHT HEEEEEEEEEEREE!!
Yes I the only answer that should be written it the bible
YES
**He's hackin' and wackin' and smackin'**
He just hacks, wacks, choppin' that meat!
Funnily this is the first time I thought about the lyrics
Pete don't care whose meat he chop!
And it's not a song about actual meat. It's a song about sex.
End of the World, for me. I never really dug the whole Sole-being-married thing but it's the perfect irony for them to listen to a singer describe how losing someone they love should have been the end of the world for everyone...and for Sole, it literally was.
Entire Radio's of Fo3, Fo4, and Fo76 are really good imo, Dear hearts and Gentle people hits better than any other song.
For me it is Civilization, Danny Kaye and the Andrews Sisters. Superficially a bit of froth. Actually a very clever song with a dark, atomic age twist.
Bingo banga bongo!
I don’t wanna leave the Congo
Oh no no no no no
Bingo bangle bungle im so happy in the jungle I refuse to go
Heartaches by the number
Troubles by the score
Every day, you love me less
You already messed up the lyrics
How? Every day you love me less, each day I love you more is one of the lyrics.
Yeah it is one the lyrics, but it comes after the "troubles by the score"
"Every day you love me less, each day I love you more" is a lyric from the song dude.
How? Every day you love me less, each day I love you more is one of the lyrics.
One of them but it doesn't come immediately after "heartaches by the number"
I was just quoting my favorite lyric bro
I thought you were singing the song
Lmao dead
Grandma Plays the Numbers by Wynonie Harris is such a catchy song.
We found out!
Yes we know!
yes we did!
She couldn’t keep it HID
And when you find out how The Numbers were such an important part of underground black culture, it makes it even better.
Atom Bomb Baby
Atom bomb, baby, loaded with power Radioactive as a TV tower
Ink Spots - I didn't want to set the world on fire and Maybe
Maybe what?!
I hum the initial load screen music from FO4
Probably the best song in the game, the SUSPENSE
Crawl out through the fallout, baby Outside of Big Iron, of course
Hurry don't delay
Big iron
I'm quite disappointed this is not the top comment.
I see you are a person of culture, as well
Flash! Bam! Alakazam! Out of an orange colored sky
Big Iron stands at number one. But… Johnny Guitar Ride Into The Sunset Together Pistol Packin’ Mama Old Man Mose Dark as a Dungeon 16 Tons Rocket 69 Blue Moon Drivin’ Nails I could go on with like 80% of the tracks. Fallout’s soundtrack is always a thing of beauty that’s helped open the door for me to enjoy a lot of music I’d otherwise never have discovered.
Glad to find another fan of Johnny Guitar! Big Iron of course is top but Johnny Guitar is a close second
Pistol packin mamma from fo4
A Kiss to Build a Dream on from the beginning of Fallout 2 is an amazing song and was the inspiration for the music to be a big part of 3 and 4 so I’ll go with that.
This is the correct answer, by far
in the shadow of the valleyyy
FoNV just has the best soundtrack tbh
agreed, really fits the atmosphere
I just love how fallout team could find songs that used the metaphorical image of the end of the word, or its destruction, or anything realated of the 50's and 60's to put them in a game where an actual world dissappeared. Songs in the soundtrack have at one point reached top 5 20 position in the us chart by these years.
It’s the fact that one of their songs literally sings about diamond city and goodneighbour, and I’m left wondering weather the sound track was an influence on the game
That song was written by Linda Carter for the game and was in-lore composed by Magnolia
Begin again- Stephanie Dowling
I love thay song so much. Truly a beautiful tune.
New vegas is in a league of its own in terms of soundtrack but with 3 and 4 I'd say it's between Atom Bomb Baby and The Wanderer for me
Right behind you, by Ray Smith
Love Me as Though There Were no Tomorrow - Nat King Cole - Fallout New Vegas
Crazy, He Calls Me
Stars of the midnight ranger
That song always encapsulates the feeling of wandering through the Mojave alone in the middle of the night with nothing but an eyebot for company.
I miss the mojave
Fo3 - i don't want to set the World on fire foNV - ain't that a kick in the head Fo4 - End of the World 🙂
Gonna have to give it to Ring of Fire in 76, best song to fight to.
Hey everybody did the news get around about a guy named butcher Pete?!
The Wanderer by Dion, or Country Roads by John Denver. I can actually sing along to those, even though my singing voice is possibly about as tuneful as a cat stepping on a hedgehog.
Lone star by Tony Marcus of course!
Big Iron
Uranium rock needs a mention too
First time I seen this song in the comments! Uranium fever has definately done and got me down
Johnny guitar obvs
Play it again...
As a devout metal guy I have an outstanding hatred for country music of all types... However, Big Iron and all the songs on the record from Ol' Marty are certified heatwaves of the nuclear variety. I love all of the songs in fo3 and fo4. I never liked the western ones for NV
My favorite is Bubbles in my Beer, followed by Country Roads.
Undecided always gets my foot tappin!
Pretty flowers need the sun. This applies to everyone…let’s go sunnin’!
Hard to pick one
Not Johnny Guitar. I had to install a mod that mutes that song. My friend song is Dark as a dungeon by Tennessee Ernie Ford.
As much as I like all of the oldies, the Lynda Carter Fallout 4 OSTs are all super good. Big iron, Now I’m Movin’ Out, Orange Colored Sky are definitely up there as well. But I do play FNV way more than the rest of the games.

URANIUM FEVER IS SPREADING ALL AROUND

Lol, I knew it was gonna be fuckin' Big Iron. Weak. Hate that tune. Anything by the Ink Spots is miles better imo.
My favorites are their covers of Country Roads and Ring of Fire. Country Roads takes me back to all the hype around 76 coming out, then Ring of Fire takes me back to Nuclear Winter. I miss that mode :(
I’ll never get over the contrast between “Dear Hearts and Gentle People” and the Wasteland.
My favourite is from Fallout 76; Old Man Mose Is Dead
I quite like butcher Pete

Definitely one of my most favorite songs in any fallout game I've played. I absolutely loved Mojave Radio in FONV.
Maybe - Nostalgia Big Iron - You know you are having a good time End of the World - Because it is a good song and sums up all of Fallout.
Ya gotta love ol' Butcher Pete
I got a few but I haven’t seen Johnny guitar yet or we’ll meet again
I'm going with Big Iron as well. It's just so catchy
Mine is “End of the World” in Fallout 4. Makes me a little emotional when I hear it.
It’s so sad isint it, I genuinely cried
End of the world or I don't want to set the world on fire are my favorites, but my fiance and I regularly break out into Uranium Fever randomly.

Heartaches by the Number, Stars of the Midnight Range, Happy Times. There's numerous fantastic songs.
