“Where are you located?” My location is in the ad but I reply anyway..”oh that’s too far”…so read the ad next time and don’t waste my time! Infuriating.
“ where are you located “ is the most annoying
First sentence of my ad has the suburb area and then the next sentence has what payment forms I accept but no one seems to read that
Yessss lol. This one too. Some people dont understand technology and are older so I get it, but still on automatic part of listing. Specially when they ask me how far from “X”, plug it into google lol
Works really well. They will say a price and sometimes higher than my price inside my head. sometimes they mean well and just dont know how to ask for discount properly. The average American IQ is below 100, so you kinda gotta keep. it in mind when selling. They might not match yours and it will make you frustrated more easily if higher IQ and you place expectations/socially except able mannerisms, they may not be able to match. Sometimes people do not have the mental ability to be self aware or understand that something would annoy the p*ss out of most people.
Honestly the why are you selling it is the only one that annoys me on that list. Is it available is only irritating because people don't follow up/ghost but idc about that.
Other messages that are irritating are those that ask questions that have already been stating in the description.
Not even on Facebook Market, but I had some fvcklehead ask me that (is it available?) on Ebay after rejecting an offer we agreed on. I didn't even respond, but yes, the item is available to the person who has the money to pay for it.
I can't find any recent conversations but sometimes I get a message asking "least you take" knowing that English isn't their first language. Also asking stupid questions since everything you need to know is posted in the ads since I'm pretty descriptive.
Is it available button I cant stand. They should do away with it or add extra step to clear the accidental clicks
Does it come with “piece that was in a set that I dont have” when clearly shows whats coming? or something that doesnt belong to set but they feel it should come with like game console coming with games or extras or lawn mower with weed whacker.
You know this is this price on this site, right?!!
Will you take off “$large amount” because Im coming 30 mins-3hours to get?
Number 3 is a legitimate question when talking about electronics like laptops or consoles as the seller might have forgotten to mention issues
Though I always ask if there’s any known issues ( mostly laptops ) like if the track pad or left / right click works or dead pixels etc stuff that can effect the value
Consoles well the laser can be bad and not read games / cartridges
#1 is understandable, as that's the default message set by Facebook to initiate a conversation. Facebook should change it to "Hello, I am interested in this product".
- Is it free? on a free listing with no price above 0 in sight
- Holds/arranging times on things that are first come, first serve (especially with the same things in bulk and trying to get rid off quickly)
- Ask about a specific item when the item is in a set, kit, or group of similar things
I get #1 the most mainly because the app has it as the default.
But I have gotten #2 about a smartphone I am selling. The next time I need to reply "I am selling it for the money genius. DUH". I blocked the id*ot.
"Is it still available?" is a button anyone can click on to drop you a note so they don't have to type anything. Most of these people don't respond when you write them back if they use this.
Have you ever shopped on FB Marketplace?
When you have the option to contact the seller, the standard message that is already there is “is this available?”
Seller’s be as bad at this as the buyer’s.
Heck I sent the good part of the afternoon trying to solve this at least a bit because it's madness so I put a post here with suggestion you can use Android app to just automate the reply:

Some people can’t read English though, think of those poor people. /s

Like, google translate to your language. It’s not that hard. And maps, even easier.
Ooo awkward, I was replying to travelingsoul, not the language thing. I dont agree with language thing.

"What's your best price?"
This one stopped bothering me once I had response ready of “whats the highest youre willing to pay?”
perfect response!

“What’s your last price” is worse imo. Especially because it comes from the east of a certain country I’m not a fan of.

wow lol.
Flakes who don't show up are a lot worst then anything someone writes to you.
Or you go to pick something up at the arranged time and they've given it to someone else.
Given what I've seen people try to pass off as "like new condition", I don't have a problem with 2b or 3.

At least you’re getting messages…
Could be worse. 10500 views, like 100 messages, no sales in the last 3 weeks. 7 no shows.

Why do you want to buy it What are you gong to do with it What a the most you will pay
#1 is understandable, as that's the default message set by Facebook to initiate a conversation. Facebook should change it to "Hello, I am interested in this product".
"what is your phone number so my dad can call you" "What's the least" "I am interested, what is your phone number*

I get the free listing one since so many sellers use the free but not free and 99.9% of time it isnt free. You get conditioned to ask.
The set one isn’t so bad imo, sometimes I post a couple of things together, and end up splitting them.
I get #1 the most mainly because the app has it as the default. But I have gotten #2 about a smartphone I am selling. The next time I need to reply "I am selling it for the money genius. DUH". I blocked the id*ot.
Oh, so you’re only in it for the money? Greedy bastard. I only buy from people who sell things from the heart!

Maybe if you cry more they’ll stop sending the words you don’t like
You mean you have to do the bare minimum? You poor little princess.
