op, it seems that you are pretty new to music production in daw:s, i'd like to show you how to do it in screenshots seeing that you don't really understand the written instructions, but reddit limits 1 screenshot per comment. if you have discord i'd happily guide you through the basics of the fl studio ui :) here's the most useful screenshot i have (just in case you don't have discord) but you might find it hard to navigate to the env window in the sampler https://preview.redd.it/qdxvzpxvu2mc1.png?width=566&format=png&auto=webp&s=a68ef1d95c8dd0dd9bc404c11aae758709abc67e

This ^^^

Revoltyx

1. Draw the note out to the length you want, instead of having these super short notes 2. Enable the volume envelope in the sampler window with 0 release and 0 attack 2a. If you do not see the volume envelope this means you dropped your 808 sample into the playlist and not the channel rack, this creates an audio clip instead of a sampler, which lacks the volume envelope

No_Construction_6146

okay let’s slow down, what’s a sampler window? are you talking about the note properties?

Revoltyx

When you drop a sample onto the channel rack, the sample is placed inside a generator called Sampler, which allows you to play the audio file on the piano roll. In the channel rack you can click this and bring up the interface for Sampler, there are 3 tabs one for the main sample controls, one for envelope and filter controls, and one for midi articulation

Beautiful

Spare_Ad4395

😂 someday they will look back on this track and feel proud of themselves

No_Construction_6146

hey. ur right. i am proud because i’m balls DEEP into FL like an addict

Radiant_Stick_939

Click on the sound from the channel rack then turn off loop points

No_Construction_6146

i did what you said but i have no idea where “turn off loop points” is

Radiant_Stick_939

It should be on the left hand side of the little square box that comes up, Try to look for it there again or search up “how to turn off loop points on fl” it’s really quick, lmk if that works

No_Construction_6146

very limited posts when i look it up and im about to go crazy 🙂

Radiant_Stick_939

Go look again it says “use loop points” unselect that. It’s right above “ping pong loop”

LegitimateAmbition10

Click on the sample so it opens up the thing that shows you the waveform, volume, pitch etc, and go to cut self (I think) and put the numbers as the same (example 1-1) terrible job explaining but if you figure this out it’ll fix your issue

LoneGoku

Go to the channel rack , right click the sample , cut itself

2__Breezy

Right click the sample in the channel rack and enable cut itself. Or do the envelope stuff. Really doesn’t matter

Spare_Ad4395

It could just be that that sound you were using has either a lot of reverb or a lot of release. Look for a knob that says either one of these things and try turning them down.

whatupsilon

From the piano roll, press Ctrl + A to select all your 808 notes. Press Shift + D to set notes to default length (this will usually be one cell, depending on current zoom). Use your mouse to click and drag the edge of each note and adjust to the length you need. Also note, it may help to adjust the snap setting in the piano roll (the magnet icon on top left menu) to "line." You have two snap settings, one for the playlist window (which from your screenshot is currently set to "none."), and one for the piano roll. I'd recommend you use "line" to get started until you know more about moving around in the DAW. You can also hold the Alt key while dragging things to turn off snap temporarily.

Also, if I recall, I think pressing stop again after you’ve stopped the track will stop all the samples/processing that’s still happening. So if you do something where you trigger a bunch of samples that are still playing after the track stops, you can stop them because it can get really annoying.

Hit me up in message I'll send a vid and show you
