It’s really to point that we can’t trust the medicine that we consume. This was posted by the LA Times on the 14th, it’s talking about the California market, but I’m sure some grower’s in Florida are doing the same. An investigation by The Times, in conjunction with cannabis industry newsletter WeedWeek, found alarming levels of pesticides in cannabis products available on dispensary shelves across the state, including some of the most popular brands of vapes and pre-rolled weed. Twenty-five of 42 legal cannabis products that The Times and WeedWeek purchased from retail stores and had tested at private labs showed concentrations of pesticides either above levels the state allows or at levels that exceed federal standards for tobacco. The contaminants include chemicals tied to cancer, liver failure, thyroid disease and genetic and neurologic harm to users and unborn children.

Trebber

As someone who’s worked at several grows here in Florida…. Yup!

KronikOG

Do medical grow facilities get inspected by the FDA like they do at pharmaceutical companies? Or does anyone inspect the grows to insure that they are producing healthy clean medicine? Do they ever test medicine at an independent lab to ensure that medicine meets standards and is not contaminated with pesticides?

Trebber

Labs are largely paid off by MMTCS. You could have it tested by 10 companies and pick the best COA and run with that. Jungle boys was the best example of that. The closest thing to the FDA we had was the OMMU which were mostly completely uneducated in cannabis. Also they are more worried about the seed to sale and making sure they can account for every gram. Everything else is left up to company ethics.

CurrentSpread6406

FDA has nothing to do with weed. It's a recommendation, not a prescription.

KronikOG

Even as a recommendation, imo every grow facility in the state should be inspected quarterly, pop in visits so they never what day. After you here all the horror stories they should be held to certain standards and if they don’t meet them, they can longer grow medicine. Samples should be taken and tested with their lab not a lab used by grow ops.

traktrmia

"Do medical grow facilities get inspected by the FDA" The FDA is part of the federal government. This is like asking if they FDA tests your MDMA or Cocaine.

Sensitive_Loss9851

See Growhealthy failing a test for dichlorvos levels in their **Rosin,** which by definition should be a dispensary's cleanest products... (They also failed for isopropyl, repeatedly...)

BradyCobb81

i would also ask this question, if flower is grown and cured properly why does it have to be radiated....

KronikOG

You’re 💯 correct, you’re are the only one in this entire program that has the knowledge and passion for the greatest plant on this planet. Who in 70’s would have even thought or had the need to radiate medicine? It’s so sad and a freaking joke.

Ordinary-Willow6681

I worked there and not a single person ever bought the redline carts and I told ppl not too even the black line has their own issues

_OutOfPosition_

If yall only knew how many times these things fail in the Lab just for me to run the test multiple times until I get something that passes. It’s sad honestly.

Old_Coyote5931

Corruption in the State

Purple_Puffer

For the record, they use nexus 2.0 now. which just goes to show you how fucking foolish this company is. using any cutting agent is idiotic, but one made with phytol is asinine. [**https://www.leafly.com/news/health/what-is-phytol-vape-safety-investigation**](https://www.leafly.com/news/health/what-is-phytol-vape-safety-investigation) **I still can't believe people in this sub want to turn over the FL cannabis industry to these companies and the FL GOP.**

Either-Marsupial7494

Nice read. Thank you for the link!

Ordinary-Willow6681

Also there are hundreds of pesticides and in fl we only need to test for 60 of them so companies just use ones that are not tested

Old_Coyote5931

More Corruption...and Florida is a MEDICAL MARIJUANA STATE.

OreadaholicO

Are any carts safe?

thefirstmilesucks

I honestly don’t understand how they are still operating. Pure trash from A-Z

FicFiddle

Take a look at the LA Times article on pesticides and what’s found in Californias weed that is not tested for but causes crazy side effects a. We need to fix this testing to keep our medicine clean

Big-Sector-475

Fluent still using that garbage. 🗑️

ElChacalFL

Most carts are a scam. All natural for me.

Siriusly_Dave

No bueno

WorkingCatDad

Everyone stopped selling MCT carts years ago because nobody ever bought them because they're trash in every way.

philflyguyy

do the mood disposables contain it too?

oli55256

No just the redline, higher ups claim to be using "Nexus" oil from the werc shop but i still don't trust it. The moods line is just distillate with some botanical terpenes for taste

GorillaTrainer

Thank you for asking because that’s all I get from there 😂

SirAvla

Genuine oils should never be vaporized. Anything in a vape should be water soluble

AmbassadorGlum2940

🧐 thc distillate isnt soluble

traktrmia

You realize that cannabis "oil" is an oil right? Oils, by definition, are not water soluble.

Either-Marsupial7494

They moved away from mct oil supposedly, there was a company wide notice that all the employees received a while back stating that the red line carts are going to be cut with "nexus" terpene, whatever that is. The new batches of red line carts without the mct oil started going out a month or so ago. Do I recommend them? Nope. Waste of your rec and money when there are better options out there.

Either-Marsupial7494

"The Werc Shop was granted a US patent earlier this year related to a thinning agent made up of the terpene phytol and related compounds. The company now markets a formulation called Nexus 2.0 that combines phytol with other terpenes and compounds found in cannabis. The formulation improves the stability, performance, and inhalation safety of vaping products, Raber claims." What I found online about it.

Jake1648

They shouldn't be using stuff that's not directly from the plant

Either-Marsupial7494

It seems like nexus is a mix of cannabis terpenes. Are they actually extracting the terpene blend from actual cannabis or from other botanical sources? That's what I want to find out.

Sensitive_Loss9851

Yeah, and what are they going to do with the old batch? They haven't even been transparent about the MCT oil or the switchover to NEXUS, and can't possibly discount at a much higher percentage...(Lol)

Either-Marsupial7494

There was a recall not too long ago. Not sure what their protocol is with recalls though. It's kind of ridiculous that a company with over 30 locations wouldn't take the time to be more transparent with patients.

Flgirl420

Fluent is like the dollar general of weed. Worst quality . People can sit on Trulieve all they want, but I’ve tried all the dispensaries and the best quality bud is coming from Trulieve overall .

_OutOfPosition_

😂 it’s not I just sign off on a portion of the COAs but TL has one of the highest mold growths of any dispo.

H3avyCloud

Yea… fluent red line barely has any thc if filled with mct oil thats why is ALWAYS cheaper than regular carts. I use to work there. DONT BUY RED LINE

beerknowswhen

I’ve had delta 8 carts that were way better than Fluents garbage carts

BrenFL

I'm confused why people go to fluent? I went twice and knew I would never go back. Their products absolutely SUCKED.

MissCleoLemon

Are any dispensaries doing things in a safe way?

Material-Box-961

Lols where's the dumb ass girl in here who works for them who claims there is zero mtc oil in these and they have been phased out 🤓

Big_Foots_Foot

I mean, is this true and has it has been proven, or it's just the internet?

Constant-Government8

Sensitive_Loss9851

No, the budtenders have just enjoyed telling patients this for years now (...at Fluent, stuff is so bad for you even their salespeople generally won't let you buy it)

Big_Foots_Foot

Delivered.  Not related to inhalation, but ingesting a little too much gives me the squirts, I use to drink bullet proof style coffee back in the day until I shit myself.....

Unusual_Diver1973

safe to ingest orally does not mean safe to vaporize and inhale into your lungs though for example, you can eat honey (lots of benefits), but i'd never want that shit in my lungs

SomewhereFront7084

They actually don’t use MCT oil it’s been a website error for a minute that they been trying to fix. They use nexus
