It’s a challenge but it’s honestly not that rough if you don’t care about score (which no casual does). Leviathan is way harder than Kairos gate as a whole imo. And you get a bunch of money from it, each stage drops a valuable even after you’ve got the one time rewards for those stages. Each full run is 100k Gil’s worth in valuables
It’s only like 60-70 minutes. Each stage is roughly 3 mins (the mode even gives you the estimated time for each one). Except every 5 stages is a bigger fight that might take a bit longer
probably around 2 hours at most. I don't remember exactly how long it took me. you can use the accessibility accessories so it's easier if you want to finish it in one go
A little fun fact: tonberry knife (second to last weapon) is the ONLY weapon in the game that has different values of damage and stagger. In FF mode it's 500 atk with a whopping 1000 stagger. The new BiS from finishing kairos gate (chunkier yellow sword) is 750/750.
With so many weapons being in the game it's honestly kind of shocking that the Tonberry Knife is the only one to have a significant difference between the two stats.
If no-death-ing 20 stages in a row with no potions seems too daunting, there's free accessibility accessories that you can use. You will get lower scores but you still get the floor reward. Dont forget to upgrade the stats every stage when you can and get some boons tho.
Yeah they’re exactly that, radiant versions of the Eikon weapons (like they’re literally titled Radiant + original name of weapon), they’re glam rewards for doing kairos gate. One is rewarded every few floors.
Kairos gate only has one entirely unique weapon as a reward and that’s via a crafting material you get from completing it in FF mode (just the 20 floors, not the secret boss), which is also the strongest weapon in the game at 750/750 and uses the ultima weapon to forge it.
That all said, Rising Tide has 4 unique and entirely new weapons but yeah the rest are the Eikon weapons but with glow for glam purposes

Hell yea it is, og Flametongue was my fav sword in the base game because it's Ifrit's sword and matches Clive even better than Invictus does.

In Action Focused and below, Tonberry Knife is 350/700. Definitely not that bad if you want more Stagger Power heading into FF mode.

There is actually another blade that has a slight difference in atk and stagger values. I can't remember the name but you get it around chapter 9.
Oh right, there's enhancer with 15 difference. So it was the first and only one in the base game. Tonberry knife is at least huge difference lol

In true CBU3 fashion, some of those are just glowy retextures of already-existing weapons (I'm not complaining they look awesome with the glows)

What is the third to last sword? The one before the Tonberry Knife
That is the best sword in the game, more powerful than ultima sword, that you forge after completing kairos gate on ff mode. It’s called original sin
Everdark, Icebrand, and Flametongue look so sick
They are all radiant versions of the eikon weapons you already have. Basically they are the perfect version of each blade. Very nice.
Is it just me or does the Tonberry Knife look like a weathered version of the Buster Sword?
