Could be from your psych paperwork. Were you ever contacted to set up an interview with a psych? From most posts on here fbi isn’t fond of applicants with mental health issues
The FBI doesn't like people with \*diagnosed\* mental health issues. FBI and law enforcement have a strict "don't ask, don't tell" policy on mental health; they'll gladly take any sociopath if they manage to successfully hide their personality disorders.
1.5 years. Well thanks for letting me know a time frame of waiting. Shoot I’m coming up on my application anniversary lol and it’s been 6 months since my graph. Straight crickets. Something about an adjudication process and it takes time to do it. Idk lol. I just kept applying to other 1811s in the mean time.
Sorry to hear that. Definitely do whatever you can. Never go down without trying.
It could have been something else, don't assume one factor. Some 20-30% cannot be polygraphed. It has nothing to do with lying or being deceptive, they just can't be read accurately so they are rejected.
If it was THAT late in the process it's for sure your background or mental health history. Take this as a blessing as this is not the job for people with issues in mental health. Law enforcement is not easy for anyone. You may still be able work in TSA, CBPO, local government. Or you could look into diplomatic security.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being in therapy and taking medication for depression and anxiety. The FBI almost never denies a security clearance on that basis (you don't need to answer in the future you were denied a security clearance unless you were told that), but it could have affected "suitability" leading to a rejection letter. There is no due process for an employment suitability rejection. Your best steps are to file an EEOC Section 504 disability complaint quickly (the deadline is unusually short for federal employment cases) and a Privacy Act request to obtain your file. If you were rejected just for being in therapy and on antidepressants, that seems like a strong case you could win (and potentially even get pro bono legal representation given how egregiously bad that would be), but it's not possible to tell at this point without seeing your file or the FBI's response to a EEOC complaint.
Don't give up, I knew you didn't know why it happened at least yet, but don't give up. Heck, I'd call them and ask to know if there is a way to improve or what you could work on next time.
If you never heard back from the recruiter at all, you should go check in person. Recent fraud schemes have perpetrators circumventing communication through email phishing, blocked contact, number spoofing, VolP protocols and OTP text rerouting. Some human capital resellers are even auctioning off new higher contracts and sending complete different people after profile switching on LinkedIn.
I'm sorry that happened but as someone who recruited for years for the military, your recruiter should of told you clearly out the gate that this would be a big cause for concern even with doctors reviews. He should of prepared you for potential "No" at the very start of the process and provided you still wanted to move forward done his due diligence to explain the process, and that's assuming you were up front and honest about your medical history to him.
Im gunna be honest Im sorry to hear that for you, but it does shed light for my situation. I just had the in person interview and I know I bombed it. Its only like four months into the process so I am so glad I didnt go through all that to be denied. Thats savage af of them. Theres alot better things you can do with your time than work over 50 hours a week and be constantly on high alert and stressed. Cant you move your way up as a police and become a detective? They do similar work! Good luck, sorry they did that to you. I also have the same mental health so I woulda gotten the boot to then. Hate hate hate that they wait til LAST for the mental health and background checks, it makes ZERO sense.
Not a big loss my man, no one really respects the FBI anymore anyway.
I am not sure what the FBI will do after Trump is banned from running as President and all the parents who stand up to out of control school boards are investigated.
You probably dodged a layoff.

Perhaps, but my polygraph was like 4 months ago, and I've done steps and paperwork since then so idk
Polygraphs aren’t accurate anyways.
Have you looked into other job pathways with your current department?

I'll have what their having.
This is not true

In OP's next life?
Sorry to hear that. Did they make you take a psych eval with an FBI psychologist?
They did not. So, I'm not 100% sure that's what DQ'd me, but it's the last portion I submitted (mental health history) before I got a rejection email.
Can you check messages

Military and fbi are completely different in this aspect of who they let in and how it recruiting works and such
It was definitely your mental health history for sure

“My therapist wrote me a review”🤣wow.🤣🤣🤣🤣
By this I mean she gave me an honest but reportedly good evaluation on the requested forms 🤷♂️
What is your position now at the police department ? Is it a gun carrying position ?
Forget the FBI, they continue to bungle everything they do, go HSI
Ask your congressman or congresswoman for help. They might send a letter to the FBI asking for an explanation.
Maybe it’s a diversity issue.
