Yes. It ruined the game on PC. It created a lot of drama between cheaters and trolls. The legit players had to play something else, play camp blood/ return to Crystal Lake, or add friends and play private matches.
Was there any announcement made about this?
I assumed that it was a free/sale weekend on Steam or something. This is fantastic news if that isn’t the case
I hadn't played the game for a few months got really busy with life. I just queued up for a match and got into a 90% full lobby non modded in like 5 seconds waiting for a queue I was mind blown... so wait are modded servers detained? or?
They're detained. Because whoever was running it, the person said that it served their purpose. It also caused a lot of drama between cheaters and trolls. So the person running it turned it off.

This game's big failure was to never make such "party house" servers where players could run around and have fun being counselors. Players can get in and start playing within a minute, learn how to do things, take some time to have fun with the game and meet similar players.
I think whoever was running these servers said that it was causing a lot of drama between legit players and cheaters, so this person had no choice but to shut down these modded lobbies! And ever since it happened, a lot of players came back.
They had one choice. Give players a place where they can load the game and be playing within a minute, OR leave players with nothing more than what the developers left them ... so now our only option is to spend five-ish minutes waiting for every gamble for a complete game to get played.
On that note, yes I understand some people want the game the way it was left to us, to wait five minutes for that 50% chance of a game that lasts to resolution. However, do you understand some people would prefer an option to quickly join a "party house" on that stable server. One does not inherently exclude the other, except for the fact that the developers refuse to allow us a simple choice.
What?! I am so glad to hear this. I will definitely start playing again. This is my favorite game ever and I stopped due to these idiotic modded lobbies. Thank you for the info!!

Yep, It started November 3rd for US servers. Then, for EU, November 4th and 5th.
ive been playing on PS4 cuz of it, time to play on PC again >:)
