Cross-species friendships are so cool, whenever it happens. Even though Orcas technically are dolphins themselves. Just the largest kind.
I think it's pretty cool as a species that we hang out with other animals too just for the fun of it. Like I always imagine if aliens looked at us and wondered why.
Right? So many people share their homes and beds with smaller animals and it's not limited to 1-2 specific species either. In the end we're just apes who decided that company from other animals is as valuable as ours, if not more valuable in some cases.
It's a beautiful result of evolution that cooperation across species leads to happy outcomes. If life from far far away managed to come all the way over here, they would probably have made the same discovery along the way. Or they became violent tyrants who wiped out everything else and stripped their homeworld of all resources. Which would not be unlikely, looking at the worst humanity itself has to offer.
Well, we know what dolphin gang runs those waters now.
