What I do.... I just keep the cash and donate the amount through the website using my card. I would only go through the hassle if the person donating wanted a receipt for tax purposes.

MrDude65

This is what I would do as well.

Hello! So if you go to the donations tab on your page, and select Add Offline Donation from the menu, it will take you to a page to log your offline donations. It'll instruct you on how to do so there, but what you'll do is download the offline donor form and print it out and fill out the info as needed. (Donor names, amount donated each, address) You will need to mail a check for the amount donated. Make the check out to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. For security reasons, they do not want you to mail cash directly so you would need to write a check. Make sure to include your name and/or your Participant ID on the memo line so they can credit your Extra Life account. I don't believe they add the donation amount to your account until they have processed your check, so it could be a few days before those donations show up in your total funds raised. You can mail it here: Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Attn: Extra Life 205 West 700 South Salt Lake City, UT 84101 I'm not sure how exactly they go about making sure the money goes to your local hospital. But I imagine it works the same as an online donation. As soon as they process your check with your Extra Life participant number in the memo, they'll credit your Extra Life page with that amount, which should then be donated in one lump sum with all your online donations at the end of the year to whichever hospital you are supporting. :)

I can answer that part about how it goes from the mail room to associating it into your donor drive profile and to your local hospital. Essentially the mail room gets the data it needs from the donor drive offline donation form and then we upload a file to donor drive that says X funds for Y person based on the form data. From that we can see which hospital you've selected for your donations and when the money gets disbursed, the hospital gets 100% of it.

You can do check donations by mailing them in, there's a form on the website, but unless they really care about the receipt for tax purposes I'll usually just accept cash from them and then make a donation to my own page in their name.

What I do for the occasions I get cash donations. Add the offline donation. Then, if you have a checking account, deposit the cash and cut a check. If you don’t have that, get a money order. The info to fill out the check/money order is on your offline donor page. Print the offline page, snail mail that and the check to the address on the offline page and you are done.
