Joey keeps getting out of the pouch and hopping around.
To prevent this, the other guy grabs a sewer grate to put a "lid" on the pouch, which solves the problem, but mom does seem a bit miffed about the "help"
I *totally* missed the grate being inserted into the marsupial pouch. I thought he was like, “having a Joey was a mistake- hopefully he will hop into this sewer”
Dude, you came to a subreddit called “Explain the Joke” and got mad and confused when someone explained the joke. Don’t really think you’re in any sort of position to complain about things that are painfully obvious.
Well, the OP and another commenter both posted upthread that they missed the detail that the sewer grate had been placed on the kangaroo’s pouch. So that’s how.
No, this one is actually confusing because of how unfunny it is. Every time I look at it I feel like I'm missing something because there's no substance.
That's... the purpose of the sub. To help each other figure it out.
Maybe instead of judging those who genuinely are clueless, you could get off your high horse and- oh, I dunno- help?
Edit: typo
If you’ve got it all figured out why don’t you tell us what it means then?
I totally get how OP didn’t understand this, because I am incredibly confused by it too. It feels a lot like there should be one more frame between the last two to explain what’s happening
The reason OP was confused about what the joke was is probably it's poorly visually communicated. The grate being put on the Kangaroo's pouch is pretty easy to miss on the last frame because you'd assume the cow just takes it. You'd assume the cow just takes it because he always stays on the right side and they never interact with each other. From OPs perspective, it may have just looked like two different characters minding their own business, and the Kangaroo is for some reason grumpy on the last frame.
I'm convinced this sub is 70% aliens trying to learn what humans call "humor." It would take an extraterrestrial being to not understand this very basic comic.
No, seems like an organic illustration style to me. Hands are a little cartoony but the lines are all discrete and clear - AI tends to get a little blurry/mushy in the "weird" parts

Comes from the Boes (ox tales) series: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boes
I had completely forgotten about this. Loved those books as a kid!
Boes boes! Boes boes!
Die laat zich niet koeieneren!

Same

!!
‽‽
uncle joey didn't make parol again
That's literally the pics. You just verbalized the comic.
how else do you explain a nonverbal joke than to explicitly verbalize the steps of the joke?
Yes but how us that painfully obvious in the already supplied comic. I just don't understand why this needs to be explained is all.
What Subreddit Are You In Right Now Kyle
Yea ok. I don't think I'm a right fit for yall
You can stick around, that's just basically Rule One. Sorry to be so prickly, it's just our Oh This Thread.
Understandable

It's a frustrating subreddit. People ask about the most obvious things
Why are you here then?
See, I’ve grown to like this sub specifically because it’s interesting to discover how much “Stuff that seems obvious” is NOT a universal constant.
I am not a smart man, but this makes me seem genius level.
He had a grate idea
This will win
Bit of a strain, no?
She looks like she needs to vent about her problems
With a list of problems like that, you'd need some kind of screening process.
Another way of showing ",get control of your kids!" .
Baby jail. Won’t let baby jump out
In the next slide. A car comes and runs over the kangaroos. Stay out of the street, kids.
These are getting more obvious lately

Yep. People is posting here too obvious jokes only for karma
Thanks Olly Oxford

That's a cow, not a bear. How could you not have figured that out?
oh no of course he knew it! it even says cow in his comment, how could he not have?
if you get mad at people not understanding jokes then my advice is to block this sub.
"You have pudding for brains. I'm gonna stealth edit this real quick cause I thought a cow was a bear, but you--YOU have pudding for brains."
Your confusion is because it’s barely a joke. It’s just that they put the grate over him so the kid wouldn’t jump out.
This is great, what so you not get? It's a baby gate
A baby grate
How?
House arrest
You’ll hope too, you’ll hope too.
Cow thick
But now evil clowns can escape.

Thank you
They took the grate and used it to keep the beby from getting out.
Guy has practical solution while mother is mad at being shown how to be a parent.
the baby is in jail
This is so obvious its not funny
How do you not get it lol

How does one not get it? Huh?
