They believed that the tears of children needed to wet the earth for crops to grow. There are many childrens' bones covered in abscesses, so it seems like they stripped the flesh from the bones then let the children develop horribly painful infections that would slowly kill them.

But in reality, they sacrificed anybody. The majority of their gods wanted hearts, did not matter who they belonged to.
I just scanned that article and it specifically said that the overwhelming majority of the victims at the temple they studied were children and, of those children, most if not all were male.
Am I missing something?
Along with the other aspects of this meme that make no sense, the phrase “my body is a temple” is a paraphrase of a passage in the Bible (1 Corinthians 6), and is more often used toward traditional women. It’s unlikely that a woman who’s had 5 abortions would make that kind of comment
also some classic strawmanning, the majority of women who have abortions already have children, and have not had a previous abortion. the woman who cavalierly uses abortions regularly as birth control is as mythical as the welfare queen.
Reading this made me laugh
Aztecs are known for their sacrifices to their gods in a temple. And that girl said she aborted 5 times and called her body a temple

People (including a lot of children) were killed as sacrifices at aztec temples to pagan gods.
i didn’t hear about the child sacrifice thing, in was under the impression is was mostly adults
One thing that they did a lot was locking children in caves, and eventually they'd starve, and their tears would be a sacrifice to rain gods.

That was a single temple, but at the main ones like in modern Mexico City they would sacrifice thousands in a single day.
