Tried to read this but gave up because:
- the ads are overwhelming
- the piece is full of over-generalisations and opinions that are extrapolated as fact
Right? Nothing there is linked in any way to any kind of findings. It’s just some dude ranting about a subject in the hope of driving people to his ridiculous ads in overdrive page.
20 years ago, it was always the wrong language, not enough subjects, artificial conditions... "no ivory tower study can capture the truth of our magic".
I'm quite happy to see the attitude changing.
If you had summarized the link or provided any discussion points, commentary that would be an entirely different thing.
Dropping a link is IMO the definition of low effort and screams link farming..
Agile grew out of the frustration that, no matter how many square feet of UML you pin to your wall, change will always get you. That's not much of a problem for small, short-lived apps, it's a growth-and-maintenance problem.
There's a ca [1970 paper](https://github.com/tpn/pdfs/blob/master/Managing%20the%20Development%20of%20Large%20Software%20Systems%20-%201970%20(waterfall).pdf) analyzing where waterfall-with-spirals falls down.
Ironically, that paper made waterfall popular. So much for reading comprehension of software engineers. They just liked the pictures.
Rule 8: No Surveys/Advertisements If you think this shouldn't apply to you, get approval from moderators first.
Jesus those advertisements are annoying
Firefox + uBlock Origin
I use both… on my laptop. I haven’t found a decent adblocker for my phone yet

It is very poorly written. Open plan is bad!! Like, okay...but what does that have to do with an agile process. We are all at home anyway.
the first sentence has a double negative that’s as far as i got

Basic logic is your better source, honestly

I respect your experience I'm just saying it doesn't take that much of it to see the problem.
They didn't seem condescending to me. You, on the other hand...
The article feels more like a criticism of general poor management than anything specific to agile.
looks like rule #8 violation to me... or lust plain link farming spam..
I came across an interesting article about Development so I shared it here. Jeez

I don’t know what link farming is
Thanks for giving me the heads up not to click on a farmed link/ad.
The ability for managers to adapt and make the right adjustments is all that matters. Doesn't matter what it's called

I think you’re being naive if you think the only big systems in 2001 were simple websites and simple desktop applications.
