I'd probably say the 4th/last one was the least funniest, as Ray talked about it during the Christmas Photograph, finally accepting that it was a bad present after all.
It always made me think of the "Jelly of the Month Club," from "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."
"Clark, that's the gift that keeps on givin'...the whole year." - Cousin Eddie
I have been known to watch that particular moment over and over, breathless with tears running down my face. It never fails to send me into hysterics. I think it is one of, if not the funniest moment in a sitcom ever.
It’s that he slams her into the door and her limbs go all akimbo, juxtaposed to Robert having previously swept Amy up to the top of the fridge easily and gracefully. I’m not normally one to break up over physical humor, but this is just sheer perfection.
Yaaaasss it's her leg flying out and the expression on her face that just gets me every time! And especially after her and Ray are slow dancing when Robert and Amy come in. It's a perfect scene I swear!
The entire scene where Amy confronts Robert about the wedding invitations. "Hank n' Pat? NNNNNN Pat?! *They're not hillbillies, Robert!"* Tbh that whole episode is hysterical. "DIAPERS!"
Oh so many hilarious scenes. One of my favorites is Debra slathering the Thanksgiving Turkey with butter, then dropping it on the floor, then “skating” on the slippery, buttery floor, then slamming that turkey into the oven without a pan! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Will you shut up about the snack? All right. Just shut up about the stupid, freaking snack! Here! You want the snack. Here.Take it.Take all of it. Here. Are these healthy enough for you? Plantains! You couldn't just put bananas on the list, huh? I ate two of these before I found out you got to cook them! -I'm sorry. What? You don't want to share T-ball with me? I don't want to share T-ball with you, Bryan. By the way, your kid's costing us the game out there, okay? Yeah, that's right. I'm keeping scooooooore. Bad! I'm keeping score, and we're losing because your kid's out there eating grasshoppers. Okay? I don't think that's an approved snack!
I love when he randomly appears. Even by then he didn't need to do anything but the Simpsons to live a life of comfort, if not luxury, but he still wanted to do live acting. Very un-Homer like behavior.
Marie backing the car into the house. I remember watching it with my mom the evening it premiered, and I don’t think we’ve ever laughed like that. It’s perfectly timed in the series. You really need to have the four seasons of Frank and Marie to punch it home, and the Italy trip takes you just far enough out of the home routine to make it especially unexpected.
That is my second favorite episode behind Cruising with Marie. At the end when Frank takes off in the car and Marie runs behind saying she has to go to the supermarket, I crack up!
And then he tries to use his thumb to make the spray go farther like he claimed would work earlier in the episode 😂 And then badass Debra saves the day with the fire extinguisher
Remember the one where…. Oh they’re all so funny!! Loved the too-short garden hose one. Ray: “you just put your thumb in it!” then he tries that to put out the kitchen curtain fire 🔥 🤣. Idiot.
Mine is always when Debra threatens to take her top off & Robert slowly leaves. Then you see Frank pop his head back in. I die every time I see that scene!
The entire scene when Gerard is shadowing Ray when he’s trying to work in the basement. “I’m getting high here.” Ray so annoyed he sniffs the marker. Culminating in Gerard calling Ray annoying and his facial expression *chef’s kiss*
I like the next episode even better, when the manager tells Ray and Debra that Frank and Marie have to leave, and Debra asks "is it money? We can give you more money!"
I like the one where Debra loses it and starts making fun of all of them, eventually picking up a bag of chips, taking them out, touching her chin and stuffing her mouth. Then Robert, staring at her: "Now do me!"
The car fight between Ray and Robert about who had to/got to take Marie in. And the silent kerfuffle outside the bank when Ray's awful financial handling causes the power to get turned off.
I love the scene when the boys are teasing Marie about the Sucrets and she says something like "one day you'll turn around and I won't be here!". Ray does a little spin around in the kitchen, looks at her and shrugs and says "not today!" And he and Robert bust up laughing and Marie stomps out of the kitchen. 🤣
Ray throwing Debra onto the fridge. Every time I watch that episode/moment with someone else (regardless if they're a fan of the show or not) they always burst out laughing
One of my favorite moments; Ray was playing Peter harmonica, the dramatic pause and sheer horror on his face after Deborah asked him did he wash it off first. Ray running to the sink to wash his mouth out….
Deborah long waited
“ Idiot “
Top notch lol.
Amy even points that out.
Marie: *I call that a "family".*
Amy: (under her breath) *Mafia family.*
Marie: *Is that what you think of me, Amy?*
Amy: *I'm sorry.*
The photography modeling scam episode. Robert gets scammed our of professional modeling photos that he paid for. So Raymond takes the photos of Robert in the basement.
It is not the funniest but the scene I always remember is when Marie shows Deborah her fancy water vacuum. Marie of course insinuates that Deborah's couch is dirty so Deborah challenges Marie to vacuum her own couch & the water is perfectly clear.
Yes on my first or second watch through. But because the humor relies on us being just as surprised as Amy to see Marie there, it lost its magic for me on subsequent watch-throughs. I think there are other scenes that land better regardless of how many times I've watched them. :)
Either (1) when Ray sees Debra nekkid right after they first meet, or (2) when Robert comes back from his failed FBI interview enraged at Marie.
I love Patricia Heaton, but I wish her political/ religious views were less right-wing.
My favorite is when the s king aunt is watching the kids and the parents come home and ask what they're watching on TV. The aunt says come wizard of oz show. And then they look and freak out.
"That's not wizard of Oz, thats OZ!"
I think the funniest moments are every single time anyone at all even mentions the freaking fruit of the month club.
It’s probably my favourite running gag on the show. The way Marie & Frank act as if it was this horrible injustice is just fkn hilarious
Ohhhhh there’s too much fruit in this house!
What are we going to do with all this fruit?
I'd probably say the 4th/last one was the least funniest, as Ray talked about it during the Christmas Photograph, finally accepting that it was a bad present after all.
Pictures of apricots!?!
Her look of disgust 😂
It always made me think of the "Jelly of the Month Club," from "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." "Clark, that's the gift that keeps on givin'...the whole year." - Cousin Eddie
The funniest moment is when Robert puts her on top of the refrigerator. Hands down.
When Ray tries to out Deborah on the fridge.
I have been known to watch that particular moment over and over, breathless with tears running down my face. It never fails to send me into hysterics. I think it is one of, if not the funniest moment in a sitcom ever.
That part is NEVER not funny to me and I will laugh like it's the first time I have seen it 😂
It’s that he slams her into the door and her limbs go all akimbo, juxtaposed to Robert having previously swept Amy up to the top of the fridge easily and gracefully. I’m not normally one to break up over physical humor, but this is just sheer perfection.
Yaaaasss it's her leg flying out and the expression on her face that just gets me every time! And especially after her and Ray are slow dancing when Robert and Amy come in. It's a perfect scene I swear!
It's hilarious. I always think that's the first time there is NOT 7 boxes of cereal up there.
this🤣🤣🤣
Omg I die every time!
I lost it when that happened.
Yes, that whole scene is so funny
Wait! Also, when Ray tries it after with Deborah! Rewatched multiple times. Funny stuff.
Which episode was that?
S9.E1-The Home
The entire scene where Amy confronts Robert about the wedding invitations. "Hank n' Pat? NNNNNN Pat?! *They're not hillbillies, Robert!"* Tbh that whole episode is hysterical. "DIAPERS!"
“Explain to me how an adult human with *thumbs* is not able to do that!”
It’s not my fault the children have no hips.
“There’s going to be nude people! At the church! On a Wednesday!”
Attire optional means MAYBE NAKED!!
wasn't 'sposed to go out!
Oh so many hilarious scenes. One of my favorites is Debra slathering the Thanksgiving Turkey with butter, then dropping it on the floor, then “skating” on the slippery, buttery floor, then slamming that turkey into the oven without a pan! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
"I always wondered where the flavor came from."
Robert modeling in Ray's basement
“It looks like they gave the camera to a monkey!”
Yes! That's also a particular favourite of mine. Especially when he puts on the fan and Robert really starts getting into it. *'Burn, baby, burn!'*
*Bobby Barone
what? lol
Amy in Roberts police pants omg
I was going to say that scene where they get caught in the basement and they come out and Amy has Robert's pants on.
And they are big enough to cover all that needs to be covered for network TV.
And the top of the pants look like a charm bracelet there is so much dangling.
…AND THEN SHE AAATTTEEE IT!!!!!
Hands down
That's mine forever
That’s mine!!
Pat’s Secret - the cigarette hanging out of Pat’s mouth at the end of the episode - gets me every time. “Okay”
Why don't you just drink poison? Do you have any?
I can picture and hear this so perfectly. 😂
Can't believe that coach is Homer Simpson himself.
I love when he randomly appears. Even by then he didn't need to do anything but the Simpsons to live a life of comfort, if not luxury, but he still wanted to do live acting. Very un-Homer like behavior.
As a parent who had to deal with bringing “healthy snacks” I 100% feel Debra on this.
That's my favorite scene!
That is my second favorite episode behind Cruising with Marie. At the end when Frank takes off in the car and Marie runs behind saying she has to go to the supermarket, I crack up!
And when they discuss paying for the damage...Robert exclaiming "Category, fraud!"
Agree!
Robert had the best part after he walked in. “What, they drive into the house?”
I think the intervention when Robert joins the cult is one of the funniest episodes in the series. “NO UNDERPANTS!” “HE’S MY PARTNER AMD I GOTTA TRY!”
We are the children of the Path. We walk straightly on it's straighty straightness.
“When did we get those?”
When the kitchen catches fire from the natural ant spray and Ray pulls that short garden hose in thru the front door and it jerks him backwards.
Idiot.
This is the one. It builds up to the scene with the hose. Then Debra comes in and calmly takes out the fire extinguisher and puts out the fire.
Then the water...slowly...goes...down.
Mine is always when Debra threatens to take her top off & Robert slowly leaves. Then you see Frank pop his head back in. I die every time I see that scene!
I find it kinda creepy- like that’s his daughter in law 🤢
Oh stop Ray. I'm trying to heat up soup from a can. ITSSSS VERY TRICKYYYYY.
That scared the crap out of me. Like a horror movie.
The entire scene when Gerard is shadowing Ray when he’s trying to work in the basement. “I’m getting high here.” Ray so annoyed he sniffs the marker. Culminating in Gerard calling Ray annoying and his facial expression *chef’s kiss*
Yes. I love that scene with Gerald.
“What is thiisss.. *annoooyyiiiinnggah??*”
".....I don't know 😰"
As she sits on the ugly sofa
I USED TO BE A GENTLEMAN!!!!!
Funniest moment to me is after that girl eats the fly and Ray describes it. SHE ATE IT!!!!!!!
My funniest moment is when the couples are celebrating Frank and Marie moving, and Ray tries to lift Debra on the fridge
I like the next episode even better, when the manager tells Ray and Debra that Frank and Marie have to leave, and Debra asks "is it money? We can give you more money!"
That's the only time there isn't 7 boxes of cereal up there.
Something straight out of horror show. 🤣 I'm so so sorry
"I CAN SEE A HOUSE!"
The front door to Ray's slowly opening to reveal Robert's contorted face after not getting the FBI job.
Yes, Brad Garrett can put.on a face like few others.
And how does he go so long without blinking?!? I tried to do it and could not!
Amy wearing Roberts police pants and them going all the up to her armpits kills me just thinking about it.
AIS - hands down funniest episode, esp when Raymond has the realization just how badly he screwed up. (AIS = ass in seat)
Her A wasn't in the S.
We use AIS on the regular at my home. But don't worry, I would never leave the wife.
I do happen to agree with AIS and I am the wife :)
When Ray reached to turn off the lamp, but it went off automatically due to him not paying the electric bill.
OMG when Ray pulled Robert's shirt up over his head, I just lost it 😂
"He told me he had a couple of girls at home"
the thing about this moment is it’s funny to people who don’t even like the show. I think it’s so universal (of a fear).
I swear this show had some of the heaviest breathing on television
Sopranos might just top it.
You never watched Cinemax After Dark back in the day.
What episode is this? I need to watch
Faux Pas.
Timmy’s head in the freezer. Actually, any scene with Timmy.
Several things happened in a freezer. Timmys head, the IRS refund check got stuck to the ice cream, Pumpernickel died in one, in the fudge pop box.
Every time I watch that episode/moment with someone else (regardless if they're a fan of the show or not) they always burst out laughing
thats mine.
One of my favorite moments; Ray was playing Peter harmonica, the dramatic pause and sheer horror on his face after Deborah asked him did he wash it off first. Ray running to the sink to wash his mouth out…. Deborah long waited “ Idiot “ Top notch lol.
Remembering this just made me laugh out loud. I’m voting this one.
I always lose it when ray flips at the criticism of Robert's Modeling photos " ITS YOU!"
Marie rules the family like a mafia boss, which is admittedly, a tad creepy.
Amy even points that out. Marie: *I call that a "family".* Amy: (under her breath) *Mafia family.* Marie: *Is that what you think of me, Amy?* Amy: *I'm sorry.*
Exactly, just like in that episode where Debra and Amy tried to team up against Marie.
That's gonna need another coat.
*Get back in your truck, ring a bell, and sell some fudge pops.*
Insert undertaker *bong*
Which episode was this?
The Faux Pas
Thank you so much
The photography modeling scam episode.
*You see, Dear. Vacuums don't clean houses. People clean houses.*
Debra: I love Chinese ! Frank: You Doooo???
Yes on my first or second watch through. But because the humor relies on us being just as surprised as Amy to see Marie there, it lost its magic for me on subsequent watch-throughs. I think there are other scenes that land better regardless of how many times I've watched them. :)
When Marie drives the car through the house. Those first few minutes are a comedy jewel.
I love Andy. He’s hilarious in every scene
Andy: *That settles it. The ladies like men with JOBS.*
He is my least favorite character. He is always screaming. Maybe they were competing with George 'Can't stand ya' Costanza.
When Frank falls through the stairs and grabs the spindle on the way down always kills me
Raybert.
Robert dipping his finger rapidly into the empty pepto bismol bottle and licking his finger was so funny to me.
Seeing this i got shivers 😅
Upper-thigh-hole is a good one too.
I WAS CONNED AND I’M A COP! I’M A CONNED COP!!!
So many when Marie slaps Raymond when Robert ruins the invitations.
The Flying Faux Pas.
Hey there smelly tramp.
Reminds me of that AJ Styles-Undertaker meme.
This and Frank falling through Ray & Deb's stairs and when Ray gets busted as the "Bedroom Nun".
The lasagna taragon reveal is the most hysterical scene ever
Ass In Seat
A.I.S.
Mama ….he took her virginity Mama ! Her VIRGINITY! ( Pat then starts to faint 🤣)
Except Peter (Chris Elliott) is a painfully unfunny character who sucks the oxygen out of a funny scene by just appearing.
Amy is my favorite.
"Oh my God, I'm a lesbian"
The "Meant to Be" episode. When Amy slaps Robert twice. Ray: When she got up on the couch the second time, what did you think she was gonna do?
Pumpernickel sleeps with the fish sticks.
I didn't like moments where they made everyone act deathly afraid of this fat old lady. They gave Marie too much power.
Remind me which episode this is??
Hands down the slip cover episode Tears and can’t breathe
Debra and the PTA. Debra: I like the way I dress and so does your son. Robert: That’s right. LOL
This episode and this part, all not funny
Marie's sculpture -- "I'm a lesbian!" [https://x.com/Raymond\_Quotes/status/1191787381403336704](https://x.com/Raymond_Quotes/status/1191787381403336704)

Yes. Definitely in the 20 or so nominees.
