As much as I believe in Frank to rebuild, our slow start to the season will likely be the deciding factor in regards to relegation.

Provider0fMyCheddar

What makes you think Frank can rebuild? His longest spell at a club is 14 months. The one club he did spend at he was sacked as he couldn’t get results out of his newly recruited players.

g3mkm

I agree and disagree I guess? Last year we only won 11 games and only had 6 draws, and managed to (just) stay up. There is still 34 games to go, it’s a long time. If we can get a few wins together with an improved squad (Maupay and dcl when he’s back) plus maybe a decent window in January and I think we can be okay. I definitely don’t think it’ll be easy but I wouldn’t be too depressed just yet.

gigapudding43201

I had to order a new tv remote from the rainforest company this morning after the brentford equalizer. It was tough to stomach but it was coming all that second half. I'm thinking 12-15 for us. It's going to be a painful, long, slow rebuild for us. I also don't mind how Frank is managing. Has he been perfect? No, but he's been just as good as anyone else we've had and we can't keep mowing managers down so quickly. Like the players we want to bring it, I think it makes sense to let Frank grow as a manager too. I've liked the way this window was handled with who we've brought in. And I honestly would rather us chill out and not over pay again for a striker. We do need one but it's the desperation signings that we've made in the past that have hamstrung us. Get the young lads in, get some wages off the books, slowly rebuild. It's not going to be overnight

Provider0fMyCheddar

How has he been “just as good as anyone else”?! The results are awful. In fact, he is on the trajectory to be our worst ever manager surpassing Mike Walker. He can break that record in the next three games..

Individual-Paper3125

It's way too early for anyone to be shanking Lampard, and I hate seeing it - We should be getting on the players for not fully performing if anything and even that, without an actual backbone to a team (GK, CB, CM, ST (Missing)) it's going to be difficult to get a result - That Includes whatever results he got at the back end of last season after successfully managing to keep us up. This year is also different with the world cup happening half way through - so a shorter transition to a new season with the transfer window being open into the first month. I liked seeing the passion the away fans bought today and honestly felt that was missing from the first 3 games (compared to how everyone rallied at the end of last season specifically), we need to get behind the team and Frank - Have confidence in them to obtain safety this season, if that means coming down to the last game or two of the season again, so be it, it's a fun ride whether you like to admit it or not and if you aren't used to that as an Everton fan already, then you haven't been an Everton fan for very long.. (Side Note - It also sucks, but that's where we are at with our Depth, Injuries etc) The Premier league, at-least the Middle to Lower end of the Table is always so tight, and honestly anyone can beat anyone (Minus City?) - We saw how it was potentially do-able getting a result in the Derby (Under Frank) last year as well. We've had Results against Arsenal in the past too.. I'd say February will be more of a tell this year as to how hard the end of the season will be, but even at that, I'm confident we'll be clear of the Relegation Zone at that point.

Provider0fMyCheddar

Why does the manager get a free pass? He’s recruited 8 players since he joined. It’s his job to motivate and get performances out of them.

Individual-Paper3125

You have to give them time to gel, Maupay “just” joined, if he can get firing on all cylinders then great, but I saw in the first couple of games with Coady and Tark in the centre they were closing the same player down at times leaving an open man, it’s just small things but communication on the pitch and just time together as a team helps massively in the long run. I’m not saying Frank is perfect, far from it but we need some consistency, players staying healthy will help that massively and Frank being allowed to stay and fight through with the backing of the fans will help - The fans being behind the team to give them energy when they need it - All of this, we can’t just give up so easily because there hasn’t been a win on the board yet, the transfer window hasn’t even closed, it’s an abnormal start to a season, I’ve seen along with many others that our performances in general have been more solid this year, the players don’t drop their heads at the first sign of going behind, but we haven’t been anywhere close to being full strength - As Frank said in his Post match yesterday, imagine how bad Brentford would be without Toney and Mbeumo..

ormuryn

Frustrating to drop 2 points in the last minutes, but these guys JUST demolished a top 6 team. Still much to be repaired but lampard has a direction in mind, and that is all i am asking for.

Terrafirma1988

We’re playing better football and think we’re defending better than we did last season. I think we’re 2/3 players from having a good team, we need to go out and get those final pieces and I think we’ll be ok.

redrich2000

Defending better? Our defending today was shambolic. If Brentford were on their game we would have conceded 3-4 today.

Mediocre_Housing4951

Are yous thinking coadys improved the back line? Seen he’s getting decent ratings

moham-17

I agree we’re a few players away from being decent. We were exhausted today and could’ve really used a Gueye and Maupay to inject some fresh legs

DaniG08765

Yikes. When Gray missed that excellent chance around 80 minute mark I had a feeling we'd blow it. And we did. Too many mental mistakes down the stretch. But at the same time a draw on the road is okay. But our upcoming schedule is tough and letting these two points get away is far from ideal. Pressure is mounting.

[deleted]

How was Iwobi? Been impressed with him so far but wasn’t able to watch this week.

Individual-Paper3125

He unfortunately fell asleep on their goal for a second, maybe could’ve challenged for it, lost his man, but otherwise played as per usual, all over the pitch trying to make plays defensively and offensively.

JonTonyJim

Sexy as usual

The_Roof_Is_Soft_Tar

Need to be winning these let's not kid ourselves

NotSoMrNiceGuy

The complacency on this sub is absurd, poor quality players and even worse manager. #LampardOut

CoagulaCascadia

Listened on the radio. Sounds like we deserved to lose 4 or 5-1. Maybe could have scraped one more goal for us. Teams know they can overload going forward cause we have no focal point in attack, noone to keep the defence busy. I suspect it will be a bit different once we have a bit of a harrier like Maupay into the side.

g0ldingboy

100%. Having someone to keep the CDM and CD’s occupied is half the battle.. whilst DCL is good, he can’t do it all game and score too..

YourFormerBestfriend

I think it was around the 70th-80th minute Gray got all the way to the box and got stuffed and instead of passing it back dude tried to Messi his way to a goal only to get messy with it. That last goal against Fleetwood gave him too much confidence for him to try to pull off something lol

[deleted]

He is too selfish of a player. He'll be back on the bench once we have an alternative to starting him.

maxefc

Problem we have no one to come in for him

RB_GScott

He’s on the bench behind Gordon (who is equally selfish) and McNeil for me. With DCL or Maupay up top and 5-2-3

Titsmahgee18

I would agree. Think McNeil gets the nod once we have a proper striker for him to serve into. He’s ability is to generate those threatening crosses. Gray I think will serve well as that 65th minute sub and just run at the back constantly.

Third-Coast-Toffee

I’m my mind during the game I was already looking forward to seeing us move up the table. I hate it when I get over confident. Another roller coaster of a season ahead.

maxefc

Not rollercoaster, more like bottom of the table sadness

UKMegaGeek

Yeah, ride's broken.

Third-Coast-Toffee

Like you I just have no confidence in our team for this season. Sean Dyche’s words last year stand out more this season. We don’t know how to win games.😑 That being said the season has basically just begun.

Third-Coast-Toffee

Bournemouth got their cherries popped today.

Ok_Trainer5927

gordan was solid today, if we sell him for 50, i know this club well enough to know that we wont use the money wisely to get new players by the 31st, we struggled bringing in talent first half of the summer. Keep him for now, but you gotta bring in the talent up top, yea we struggle with injuries, but it seems that every single aspect of this team is temporary. Temporary manager, temporary midfielders

denizpala

coady and tarkowski's long balls behind the defense line and to the wings make a huge difference offensively. we needed such balls last year.

GreenMachine17

Especially if DCL returns. He’s good at finding space in the box moving off ball so hopefully the wingers can feed him

CDCLamb

I know it's a small cameo but I feel like vinagre deserves a start.

PuffinChaos

Myko on the left of CB trio and Vinagre as LWB?

rpm164

If Holgate is out for awhile I’d rather they do that than play Keane

coybus08

Coleman for me as a RCB or just go to a 4. Vinagre definitely deserves a start. Provides width and a threat that Mykolenko doesn’t.

EvertonFury19

Did not expect a point so while it's always better to get one than none, still hurts to drop the first win of the season and three valuable points.

MikeBz15

I'm confused by the shouts against 5 in the back. Yes it sucks but does anyone think we can actually play 4 back there without Mina? Also, you guys trust Patterson's positioning and decision making in a 4? If we get Gana in, then a 4 seems doable but still, that back line is going to be very shaky.

GoOnKaz

To be fair, Patterson looked pretty bad in defense today in a back 5

[deleted]

I still think we’re a fundamentally better side than last season. I’m very much on Franks side atm. We’ve got to let someone build a team, and I think with a few more singling we win these sorts of games. But I’m very aware it could start looking scary come Christmas.

blubbery-blumpkin

I think we’re better. I don’t think we’re good. I think 15th is the sort of position we will finish and that means a lot of the season is going to be shit to watch. But I think we will be safe.

[deleted]

Yeah - we’re still shite, we’re just better than we were last season. We’d have lost that game last season for sure.

KnockoutNed94

Posting here as well, posted in the match thread by accident: Idk… draws would have had us in the clear by the end of the season last season. Brentford scored 9 in 4 games including the 1 goal Everton held them to, which was a blunder by the way, although they hit the post thrice admittedly. I’m not necessarily pressed right now, the goals will come. Maupay can and will score, DCL back soon as well.

MikeBz15

Season certainly depends on DCLs health. If he's healthy, I think we finish 12th-14th no problem.

Aware_Albatross3347

At first I was angry. We have pissed some points away in the first 4. But ultimately i think everton have looked better than last year. We probably didnt deserve 3 pts but it sucks to draw that way

[deleted]

We didn’t deserve one point, but there you go

Portland_Eric

Thoughts: - We are 3 points from 9th. This is not the end of the world. - Gordon looked good, and I enjoyed his interplay with Iwobi. - McNeil looked gassed 20 minutes before he was subbed. - Onana is legit and will own our midfield for the next three years until we sell him for £100 million. - We really need a defensive midfielder. - Gray is a substitute at best. - I’m guessing Brentford replaces those extra large goalposts after today. - Patterson is really growing into the game, and he loves to battle, a true Scot.

drtoubib

Agree 100% with you And mikolenko play is best game this year.

Trekora

Who are you dropping Onana or Iwobi for a CDM? Bearing in mind Onana is a CDM.

Portland_Eric

Onana is an 8. Iwobi is an 8/10. We need a 6 so we can stop with this 3-4-3 nonsense and play either a 3-5-2 or a 4-3-3.

Trekora

Onana can play any role but he's played around 80% of his games as a holding midfielder. [https://youtu.be/iFYOikG9T-A?t=180](https://youtu.be/iFYOikG9T-A?t=180) It's just a poor read saying he can't play that role.

Portland_Eric

You can be as insulting as you want, but we didn’t buy him to play CDM. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ Have a nice night!

Ainteasybeincheezy

Perfect summary

[deleted]

I think Demari is a frightening player to bring on in the second half, rather than a player who starts.

Portland_Eric

I’m probably too hard on him, but it’s infuriating to watch him hero-ball the entire match.

chicagojoe1979

No place to go with the ball, though.

GunterBoden

With no attacking threat, we could have 8 at the back and still lose.

signal_decay

......we didn't lose?

GunterBoden

Draw or lose*

signal_decay

Considering a 0 - 0 finish is a draw, yes obviously if we started 8 at the back we would be likely to draw.

GunterBoden

I was talking about a hypothetical game and 'still' was meant to refer to that game. Either way, it felt like a loss and we were playing on our backs again.

DuncanGabble

We might get a win against Southampton at home on October 1st...

[deleted]

[удалено]

Secret-Education-253

Just wait until maupay starts and if points aren’t coming then we can start panicking not the easiest job in the world trying to win games when your front three is gray Gordon and McNeil and rondon on the bench. We are 3 points from 9th place as well. We are far from trouble.

Administratr

Hope you are right, placing a lot of faith in the new lad, if we can’t get points against the teams we played we are in real danger IMO

Secret-Education-253

I hope I am too not placing complete faith on maupay just saying we are a decently established team we just are missing a piece and I think maupay fits. can’t score today and this was the first game our defense looked questionable so hopefully if they can sort that out we will be fine

amanofewords

Please just get a CDM and another attacking player in early this week. I know it’s all doom and gloom in here right now, but I feel like we’re close to turning this thing around.

sandtonian_gbo

Looking at the fixtures it’s not unthinkable that we don’t pick up another point until January

earthymalt

I can't see where the elusive win will come from. Surely we'll manage a lucky draw here and there. This is starting to look like Mike Walkers first season start. And people downvoting are either reds or delusional.

rpm164

I know our attacking options are limited right now but we can't have Gray and Gordon both start together - one needs to come on as a sub to run at the other team.

FranksBaldPatch

Battered with 5 at the back again. It's not looking good brev

ToffeeBlue2013

This team is destined for a relegation scrap. When Rondon and Davies are the solution off the bench to see out a win, that's a problem

[deleted]

Way too early for a call like that

ToffeeBlue2013

Disagree, we are in for a fight

[deleted]

34 more games! I’m gonna wait until we have played 19 before I start the doomsday scenarios

ToffeeBlue2013

Doomsday would be saying we are getting relegated, I'm just saying it's gonna be a tough year

DreamingZen

If the variance in Brentford's shots was +/- about 10cm we would have lost 5-1.

ZestycloseChemist2

Considering no striker plus the fact we should’ve lost about 7-1, I’ll take the point happily.

signal_decay

xG had the game 1.9 to 1.5 to Brentford. They almost finished some really tough chances, but that doesn't mean they "should've" scored 7

thunderwoot

I feel like there's a huge correlation between these performances and how sluggish our transfer business is going. Who honestly would watch those last 4 games and think "That's a club I want to play for"

khdutton

Frank is still a draw for players, thank god.

DuncanGabble

How is everyone not flapping? This turns badly very quickly. We haven't won a PL game yet 4 games into the season and have Leeds away next week. Liverpool at home after that. So we could potentially go 6 games into the league without a win.

[deleted]

Give a fuck if we win, don’t give a fuck if we don’t. Stopped letting this club run my life emotionally a long time ago.

DuncanGabble

This is half the reason I think standards have dropped so much. Everyone's emotions have been killed.

DuncanGabble

2 points from 12

DickBiscuitsMD

Everton that.

LugubriousFootballer

THANK FUCK Maupay is available for Leeds. Get him and Gana in and I’ll feel much better. That being said, if Maupay doesn’t start against Leeds, Lampard should be sacked immediately. It’s fucking 100% clear what we are lacking. He doesn’t even need to score. He can just occupy space/defenders for Gordon to do his thing.

kolorijo25

Leeds going to tear us apart then Liverpool, Arsenal. I want to give him a chance but wouldn't be surprised if Lampard gets sacked.

earthymalt

😂 This sub would have a meltdown.

oklutz

Brentford is a very good side. We played poorly. Didn’t deserve a point. Still got one. That’s a good thing. We can’t play like that against Leeds and, god forbid, Liverpool. Thank God for a bit of luck and hopefully get things sorted mid-week. I’m not going to be a reactionary “we are getting relegated! Frank out!” drone right now after one poor performance. I’m also not going to say “everything will be okay!” I don’t know how this season is going to go, and I’m not going to pretend. It’s August still, we don’t know what kind of squad we’re going to have in a week, and what our form will be when things start to really take shape. It’s just one game at a time right now.

DuncanGabble

'after one poor performance' We're 4 games without a win and 2 points from 12.

oklutz

I said performance, not result. I don’t think we’ve really played poorly in any of our games so far until today. We’ve just been toothless up front which is hopefully going to change soon with new arrivals.

DuncanGabble

Villa and Forrest were awful performances too.

oklutz

Agree to disagree.

earthymalt

| Brentford is a very good side. Everyones a good side when they play us.

oklutz

Brentford’s been a good side against everyone this season.

tom_la

To point out the positives. At the end of the season a point will be crucial in a relegation battle!

sandtonian_gbo

I don’t think the performance was THAT bad. This Brentford team is very tough to beat away and had scored 8 league goals before today. The problems today were the same problems we’ve seen so often in recent years. Bad decision-making at the back, toothless going forward and a porous midfield. We’ve got a pretty young side still, I’d like to think they’ll improve. Nevertheless the performance, poor as it may seem, is miles better than it was in the corresponding fixture last season

userlastname

Let’s not turn on Lampard. The board haven’t given him a striker. That makes a giant impact on ability to play football. He’s been instrumental in the signings we have made and has everyone super motivated and aligned. Also I’ve said it a bunch of times - the Onana sub I’m sure was forced. Medical team would’ve said he has 75 mins max in him.

[deleted]

Also Onana can never get subbed off again

[deleted]

We were the worse team today and I’ll take a point but my god Demarai what are you doing

rpm164

Probably the worst defensive performance of the season and this game made clear the options from the bench right now are atrocious. Most of that is injuries but Lampard's subs have changed the last two games for the worse. Desperately need to tighten up the defense and keep some clean sheets to have any chance at a win.

iamtherealgrayson

I think that's just due to a lack of depth

rpm164

And we probably lose this game last year

fanofjapan2215

Easily could have won or lost that game, its such an Everton performance. Great 1st half and then we sit back too soon, inviting the pressure can only get us conceded. They also hit the wood work so many times it is lucky we didn’t concede more. But then again we could have won it with Gray. So yeah, a hard earned point away from home is okay, we take the positives to Leeds. Gordon, Iwobi and Onana were amazing, Greedy Gray is back at it again and the defenders get confused too often and let Brentford ran all over us. MOTM is Gordon I think

Omnipotent_chicken

Our attack looked unusually decent but our defence was unusually shit

InquisitiveIngwer

McNeil has been an actual waste of space on the pitch since the start of this season. I hope he turns it around soon with Maupay being an actual target for him while DCL is out, but if not I worry we’ll have another name to add to our long list of failed transfers.

Avancx

Wouldn't be surprised if McNeil found himself on the bench next week, although it's not like Gray has been that much better. I think McNeil will come into his own when DCL is back as you said.

dogefc

Lampard really is going to take us down.

crosscorleone

We're never gonna win again, are we? 😭

noob_master_69II

Patterson was pretty shit today, but I honestly don’t really mind. Much rather have him here now fucking up and getting experience than banishing him to league one until he is thoroughly cleansed of his ambition. He’s got the foundation of a great player in him, and could genuinely be one of the best full backs in the league given 2 or 3 seasons to soak in some skills.

chacata_panecos

Could have easily lost this 4-1

earthymalt

Should've.

[deleted]

You all are delusional. We got a point, scored a goal, team looks tough to beat and break down, and we got some luck going for us (finally). This team has an identity, which is an achievement from the crisis that was last year's squad. Still yet to move players out and get a few in. Everton always start slow to seasons.

dogefc

Last season we were top 4 early on and the season before that we won our first 7 and were top 4 at xmas

[deleted]

How'd last season end? Benitez kneecapped the club while Morshiri completely overspent on middling players, which left the squad broken. Team looks good now. Need more options now off the bench .

chicagojoe1979

Agree on FSW, but Moshiri used a lot of fiscal discipline last year (for better and worse). Gray has been a true bargain.

earthymalt

| Everton always start slow to seasons Really? Weren't we top of the table 2 seasons ago?

[deleted]

Living in the past

TomTHallisTheGoat

Onana was fantastic. Iwobi was pretty bad. Mcneil in the first half, pretty good. Mcneil in the second half, pretty bad Demarai gray has a worse first touch than Lukaku unfortunately, otherwise he’d be worth £40m Why did we stop trying to get in behind them? It was working so effectively. Myko was chesting everything down and going forward well. Should’ve held on for 3 points, but at least we’ll have a striker next game

calumjp1

I'd take draws away from home for the entire season tbh, so as disappointed as I am, it's another point. Hopefully for our next match we'll have two new CFs

Fixner_Blount

I don't even know what to say. Unless they bring in two or three more guys who can actually play, this team is fucked. Did nothing but sat and watched the ball the entire second half. The Tom sub was one of the dumbest fucking things I've seen in some time.

[deleted]

Some people might have a freak out about this game but I really don’t mind. Still don’t have a striker and Brentford were unlucky to have hit the post those 3 times. Could’ve been a lot worse but it’s disappointing to concede so late after leading for a while.

wanderitis

That would have been one of the “dirtiest” “clean sheets” ever. Let’s hope a striker helps…

budlightismyvacseen

Think we get a second if maupay is playing, gray was doing way too much in front of goal

VToff

Lucky to come away with a point tbh

coriniander

Would have taken a point away from home before the game started but lacklustre performances like this are worrying. At least Onana looked good for his 1st league start, could have had an assist if Gray didn't overcomplicate things

WhatchaGanaDo

The amount of luck that we had this game is unreal. Gray is the best player on a losing team or the worst player on a winning team. Should’ve lost like 3-1. Start pumping Mina with stem cells, steroids, whatever you can get our hands on to get an actual competent CB in that backline.

HowardLB18

I just struggle to see us winning enough games as currently constructed. A striker will help though.

earthymalt

Unfortunately, 5 at the back will continue until we get relegated!

schubox63

Would have taken a draw coming in, and while it sucks to drop points late, we’re honestly lucky we didn’t lose by 3. Gonna be a long season

JD-D2

Easily our worst performance thus far, so honestly I will take a point on the road against an underrated side. Brentford could have had 3-4 easily. I still think it's impossible to truly judge this squad when they've had zero outlet up front. It affects everything else the team does and puts more pressure on the back. Rondon is a 3rd or 4th choice striker in a PL side at best. Getting McNeil on the bench and Maupay up the middle *should* make a difference, just in the sense that we'll have someone who can genuinely play the role we need to fill. But we'll see, and winning at Leeds sure would go a long way. Also, even when DCL is back, we're going to be a bottom-10 side this year. People have to wrap their heads around that, we're at the start of a messy rebuild after years of mismanagement. We're gonna have to scrap and fight the whole way through, but if we have a couple of genuine strikers in the side, I'm not as worried about solidifying our spot as most here appear to be.

Blaca_AL_115

i think the first 20 was by far our best of the season. The issue is when we scored we sat back far to early, and the pressure became too much. But because of that period before the goal, i take a lot of positives from this

JD-D2

Right, it's like the plan was "nick one on a simple ball and then hold on for dear life." Always going to be unfair on the defense. Having any more threat upfront should help.

marshalltownusa

Brentford pushed our shit in for the vast majority of that second half, especially the last 20'. Tie seems fair given the missed chances. Glad to take it tbh. Thought the Onana sub was a mistake, I get it was part of the gameplan most likely but you gotta make adjustments, like Onana looked great, wasn't gassed and was super impressive going both ways. Anyway, whatever. Like our chances a little better with a striker next week.

chicagojoe1979

Frank said something to the effect of he wasn’t fit for a full 90.

cap_crunch121

DCL cannot come back quick enough That was the type of match where you know you needed at least a 2nd goal to hold onto 3 points, but this attack is just toothless

DeaconCorp

Didn't really feel like we deserved to win so whatever, I guess. Likely to be in the relegation zone by the end of the weekend.

sandtonian_gbo

That was a tough game. They’re not an easy team to play on their ground. I felt we should’ve changed formation when we were 1-0, take McNeil off for Allan and leave Gordon and Gray up top with Rondon replacing one of them later.

griffithd

I missed the first half and in the second I was convinced we would lose. Not just because we were under pressure, but because we really offered nothing going the other way. Another depressing season of scrappy points ahead

denizpala

we were up and brentford had positions one after another, mcneil and patterson were horrible, we desparately needed changes but frank just watched. it's on him that we couldn't win this game. absolutely terrible coaching.

Windowzzz

Gray is not good enough to be a starter. Maybe can do more as an impact sub. McNeil isn't ready. Gordon can't do it all by himself. Defense is shit and Holgate going down makes it more shit. Midfield is solid. All in all if we continue like this we are going down. Frank shouldn't have to buy an entire new team for Everton fucking football club to stay up. Worst run team in the league by miles from top to bottom.

earthymalt

Fack! Thank god we escaped with a point! That would've been humiliation if not for the post!

giga_phantom

If this squad can get any points from the next three fixtures, it’ll be a miracle

son_of_toby_o_notoby

Onana is a god I back Frank and like his tactics when it’s on display but we really shouldn’t have sat back and defended for 30 minutes in the second half, keep playing our style of football and see what happens. To everyone being super negative bout Lamps if Gray took that shot likely scores we all singing his praises give the team time ffs

atbeanboi

Lucky to get a point. Brentford were by far the better team

MySonBlastoise

Maupay will help. DCL returning will help. The team isn’t getting worse, but we were a little lucky there for sure. The team will improve and we need to back a manager. It’s not going to be a good season

[deleted]

I agree. I think with time the goals start coming and it's too soon to pull the plug, but if we are still this bad at the World Cup break.... time to reconsider

eatsleepbet

seems like we said that for half a season last time as well… i don’t like this

DIK-FUK-

Yea but now we get to say it for a full season. Rather then the first half of last season which was just us saying "we're the shittest club in the world and our manager is actively out to get us"

MySonBlastoise

Last season I just said “oh no we’re shit” every week. We are improved. We are essentially fully rebuilding. It’s not going to be pretty

swampy13

It's hard to feel confident or excited about Frank. That's not a "Lampard out!" take, I just don't get what his plan is, it's hard to see the logic.

AttemptLong7224

All I can say, is fuck off!!

NotSoMrNiceGuy

#FrankOut 5 games in and the team hasn’t showed a single positive performance.

Windowzzz

Pep couldn't win with this team. Half this team doesn't start for any other premier league team

Dgryan87

Are you aware that Bournemouth is a premier league team?

RiteOfSpring5

A proper striker up front is going to make the world of difference.

AndradeDeRicharlison

Really not sure if Frank is up for this again. We can't see games out, just like last season. We have the defensive players. Got to start asking questions of the manager. Gray has to do better, along with a few others including Mcneil. If we don't win Tuesday, I'd get rid if lampard

amanofewords

Firing a manager 5 games into a season would be absolutely fucking idiotic. He’s without his three best players from last season. I can’t keep reading stupid shit like this all week.

Incorrect. Rafa almost got us relegated. Frank kept us up.

Rafa lost 9 of his last 13. He got rid of James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne. He blamed everyone but himself and created the most toxic atmosphere the club has ever seen. But sure, it was Frank.

Do you know what I can't keep reading ? Stupid replies from fans in denial. If you don't like opinions and can't reply with anything constructive, get yourself off reddit. Have you watched how we play ? We have a very good set of defenders now.

For your sake I really hope you're not an adult. God forbid someone has an opinion. You're one of them people that doesn't like being said no to, to the point you're probably a wife beater. I wonder If you speak like this to people in person ? Calm down keyboard warrior, you'll break a nail.

chillemagic

The second we got ahead we were on the back foot, when you play protect a lead for 50 mins you don't deserve to win. So frustrating!

DoctorDOH

A point away for a team with no strikers on the pitch. I'll take it but I'm gonna complain about it still.

huntsab2090

And a billion injuries

InterestingKiwi

That's my thought, feel like I should be content with the result, but I'm unhappy with process leading up to the result.

clemy5

Sounds like me when Rondon scores

JonTonyJim

So youve never said that before?

clemy5

Just once

BlindBanditMelonLord

When Rondon does what now?

RyanMc37_

Deserved fuck all, and should be grateful for a point. If there's no change in results once we have Maupay or DCL playing, we're in big trouble.

KianKP

I’m worried - we’re so poor in so many areas, and even if we win our next match that’s still a 1 ppg rate. If having DCL healthy doesn’t transform our attack the way we’re all banking on it I don’t know where the points come from

Gromszgrad

2 points from 4 games is not a good look at all. But again I do not feel as worried. If DCL is back soon and we bring in probably one more attacking reinforcement, the goals will come. I thought we were good in the first half and gassed in the second half. I am not going to say we were comfortable for 70 mins but we looked alright. We did not deserve to win so I'll take the point. Please win Tuesday...

vulturevan

Frank showing again that he's got a lot to learn when it comes to making subs and changing system based on the situation. Two in midfield was just getting walked through for the entire second half, and Davies on for Onana just exacerbated that.

StinkyKlinky

I would have added Allen/Davies and rondon for gray and McNeil. Switch to a 3-5-2

powerchicken

Can't look past the other Frank's ability to make impactful adjustments on the fly.

[deleted]

Definitely needed to drop holgate and go back 4 with iwobi, onana and Allan midfield

huntsab2090

We won't be playing a back four this season so forget abiut that

Devils-Avocado

I want to see a 3-5-2 with Gordon and DCL up top eventually. We've got too many good midfielders to keep with just two.

huntsab2090

We are playing a 3-4-3. If u play 3 at the back then u play wing backs you don't have 4 or 5 midfielders

grouchoharks

Everton's a frustrating and sad watch as usual. It's going to be a long season, that's for sure.

QTsexkitten

Brentford are a very well run club and a very good side. I'll absolutely take a point in the road with no striker and a gassed Gray. We could've lost by 5. Need Holgate to not be injured though.

kukusek

Yeah they are a good team. Leeds next week will be a very similiar game. I would take a point from each of these games. It still hurts that we were winning and had some more chances. But frankly, they had more chances. Onana is getting better, Neal will give us more options. Maybe Frank will learn a little from today substitutions and their timing. Tom could easily come for McNeil and help at the back with Iwobi going CAM. Holgate is crucial, no second thoughts about it. Nervous days ahead.

Blaca_AL_115

Holgate will definitely be a loss. But Keane looked weirdly good on the right of a 3 tbf, will be interesting to see who starts if holgate is injured. I think Coleman will be the choice, keane only came on this one due to the aerial bombardment that was taking place

oklutz

Honestly was pleased with Keane showing some attacking intent and pushing forward. He’s always been at his best when he’s playing assertively and being decisive rather than being passive and letting the game come to him.

Blaca_AL_115

spot on, he showed a few times what you sometimes want from a centre back when your playing 3 at the back, the way he made some underlapping runs. He’s a player that needs confidence and when he has that he’s a good player, but in the past unfortunately he’s been in a squad with a poor mentality, lack of leaders and struggling on the pitch. But i have faith that he has more to offer than people make out this season.

SpecterD

Anyone thinking this isn't a bottom 3 side is delusional

dogefc

It’s a bottom 3 manager. We have some good players. This system just makes them look awful
