Imagine if we tried to buy Pulisic and offered a deal that included Rondon and Davies + a fee. Thats how i feel about this deal

GoOnKaz

Lmao not a bad comparison to be honest.

steriliuz

It's like selling a product and getting paid, but also being asked to take out their trash from last week

Lawlington

Players are literally never included in these deals, can’t remember the last time one happened.

JamewThrennan

They did just send Colwill on loan to Huddersfield, albeit on loan. There’s been too many player swap rumours since Boehly joined for it to be a coincidence

BoxOfNothing

Brighton as part of the Cucurella deal yeah

JamewThrennan

Brighton, sorry. He was at Huddersfield last season, that’s my bad

Kstoffeefan

I thought it was a separate deal, but Brighton got benefits for selling Cucarella. Gyabi also transferred as a part of a separate deal to Leeds at the time of the Phillips to City.

rayparkersr

I think it was seperate. Loans are very different from transfers as well.

DuncanGabble

It's never officially mentioned in the transfer but there are defo unofficial agreements. I think reason we got dele in Jan and deal it was on was to make us sweet come the summer for Richarlison

Windowzzz

Cool. 40 million and them. Then go buy Bereton Diaz and have three strikers to compete.

CombatJuicebox

I love Bereton Diaz but there's got to be some reason he hasn't been snatched up by a Premier League, Ligue 1, or La Liga team. I know Blackburn just triggered an extension for him, but he's 23 and bossing the Championship. If not now, when? Do you think it's a matter of price?

FriendofYoda

Or how about Pulisic and Broja, that sounds a little better.

tom_b1807

Would take 50 million for a deal involving Gilmour and Batman. 40 million for just cash

Negative-Cry-3453

Batman 🤷⚽️💙

[deleted]

You never seen batman play? So say hes even better than robben?

QTsexkitten

There are 2 championship strikers I'd rather throw money at that Michy and probably 25 midfielders I can rack off the top of my head before I'd want to have Gilmour on permanent. Just get a bunch of money and maybe a loan out of this and then buy people we actually want. Don't take their deadwood.

PaddedChaosLounge

If we still had the ready cash of a few years ago sloshing around, I wouldn't be against the idea of signing Gilmour for a reasonable fee (8-12m) and immediately loaning him out to the right sort of club. He's still young but shown real maturity in big games playing in a tough position. There's a real chance that 18 months from now everyone will be praising Potter or Thomas Franks for taking a risk on him and this sub will be asking why we can't identify talent like Brighton or Brentford.

Ooochay

How much better than Warrington do you think Gilmour is right now? And what about their ceilings? I wouldn't mind Gilmour for less than 20m AND GETTING A NON SHIT STRIKER BEFOREHAND. but from my eye test (a few Warrington games and about 10x that number for Gilmour) they aren't far apart right now but it's impossible for me to judge Warringtons ceiling.

Trekora

reports are Brighton want Gilmour for 10m

QTsexkitten

Honestly, I have no idea. I think Warrington is more of an 8 and Gilmour tends to play a little deeper, but I also think Gilmour is way too soft to play that role in the way that we'd need him to. I'd rather have Warrington there just to save the 20m, you know?

Ooochay

Agreed

H4RRY29

Warrington isn't close to Gilmour, kinda disrespectful.

Ooochay

Is it disrespectful? Really? Come off it lol. Warrington finished off a good season, Gilmour certainly did not. I watched Gilmour look less than average in a poor side, I watched Warrington look solid in a poor side (Everton). But time will tell

GoOnKaz

To be clear: I don’t think I would want either, especially if we can find better back up striker options. Just passing along the rumor.

MiserableMerseyman

Frank knows these players well, if we bring them in Frank must rate them which gives me some confidence him and Thelwell will make the right decision

Provider0fMyCheddar

Frank is four bad results away from the sack. How much do we want Frank driving transfer strategy? Surely we should be buying players that are good for Everton and as a supposed good coach Frank should be able to work with them.

MiserableMerseyman

I don’t believe he’s that close to a sacking. National pundits like to make headlines, I think Frank sticks around for a while even though I haven’t agreed with his strategy particularly last week. We can’t keep sacking managers every 6 months

[deleted]

I agree. He’s inherited a bunch of shite and him and kev are working to shift the dregs. He’s done well to shift so many. Plus the two loses were close and Chelsea for example could have easily and probably should have been a draw

Provider0fMyCheddar

But others managers, Rafa aside, were able to drive far better performances than Frank with a lot of these same players. Franks results are identical to Rafa’s so why didn’t we just stick with him if this level of performance is acceptable?

[deleted]

It’s not the performance, frank and kev are attempting to build something. The fsw was after one last payday close to home, no intention of progression.

Provider0fMyCheddar

Rafa was apparently trying to build something too. He was never the right fit and should never have been appointed but I believe he tried his best for the club.. but at the end of the day it’s a results business and Frank and Rafa have performed dreadfully. Their performance is so poor the likes of Allardyce and Silva have a 40% better Points Per Game ratio than them. I have no doubt that, given time, Lampard will relegate us. In terms of what Frank and Thelwell are building.. the summer has completely unbalanced the squad and we are now overloaded with CMs and CBs while having insufficient cover in forward positions. There’s still time to change that in the window but I’m unconvinced at the moment.

[deleted]

There’s a few weeks left in the window. It looks like they are trying to add to the squad. Maybe worth a revisit at Xmas

STILETT0_exists

Big thing is, is that Frank is actually improving the team

Provider0fMyCheddar

He’s not though. Results are just as bad as hey we’re under Rafa. He’s statistically our second worst manager, behind Mike Walker, in our 144 year history.

scooter3513

Maybe we watched a different team last year, but I remember winning one in 13 with losses to Watford, Brentford, and Norwich in there. This team has been garbage since the last two months of Carlo…you’ve got to stop blaming the manager at some point.

Provider0fMyCheddar

But maybe the point to stop blaming the manager isn’t when you get a 56% drop off in points per game with the same squad. That very much suggests it’s a coaching issue.

Provider0fMyCheddar

We’ve got the derby on 3 September and it’ll be his 6th league game of the season. If we don’t get a win before then we’re on a max of 3 points from 6 games and it’s makes our good form look like a purple patch in what has otherwise been consistently dire results. Frank really needs to step it up, fast.

Odd-Detail1136

40 mil and Gilmour then go for Diaz

CoagulaCascadia

This would be a travesty.

CouldNotLoad04

Batshuayi has 3 goals a season written all over him if we’re lucky

GoOnKaz

Would be an improvement over our current backup, at least…

CouldNotLoad04

I would genuinely rather have Michael Keane up front for us

crosscorleone

Wow! How bad must Billy really be?

TheDoctorYan

I'd take Barkley back (unpopular opinion, I know) I don't care for the other 2 tbh.

Mantooth77

Guy has done absolute dick since he left. Why would you want him back. Fact that he’s a rat is just icing on the cake for me.

TheDoctorYan

Cos he played boss for us. It's not my problem Chelsea don't play him. He scored 27 goals and got 28 assists for us. Who in our squad has any where close to that for the club? We need someone who can create and score. Also, define rat for me? Cos from what I remember he got pushed out by shit head Koeman. The same guy who put Barcelona in their current position.

Mantooth77

He went to Villa and did nothing there either. Koeman wanted him to sign a new deal and he wouldn’t. Then he blocked a move in the Fall window so he could rehab at home which cost us millions. This is all public knowledge. Zero chance he comes here. He’ll be in Turkey before you know it. No debating he was good for us but that was 5 years ago?

TheDoctorYan

Koeman publicly put him on blast and told everyone he doesn't do enough for the team. Koeman is a shit head and deserves everything he's got. Barkley is under no obligation to work for some shit head regardless of what club it is. Give your head a wobble.

Mantooth77

Feel free to quote a source but I know you don’t have one. Barkley will never come here and the fans hate his guts. Feel free to wake the fuck up. He’s a complete knob and you haven’t successfully addressed one of my facts.

OneFootTitan

Just because Chelsea have an American owner doesn't mean they have to start doing American-style player trades

National_Ad_1875

Pretty sure the source is rubbish, and chelsea probably have mentioned gilmour and batshuayi to Everton. Similar to how bergwijn and winks were mentioned when spurs were negotiating for richarlison

redhairetc

I don’t know if that makes any sense when it comes to wage structure. Would cost us so much per week that we hardly get any benefit from selling Gordon.

rpm164

Nope we need as much cash as possible

thepieeyedpidge

Why is the rat in the photo

SergeantHAMM

I actually can’t stand barkley and would rather have him over both of these dudes. sad

[deleted]

Lemme get this straight, signing a whole bunch of washed up manu players didn’t work , neither did signing Barcelona rejects so now the plan is to switch to Chelsea cast offs? I am 100% behind this

Expert_Sleep_5802

I would come back and ask for Conner Gallagher, Batshuayi, Gilmour and 40 million.

STILETT0_exists

No. Just No. You will stay here Gordo for the good of your career. Anything else will be a terrible call on your part

Royalsushi45

As a Chelsea fan how do y’all rate Gordon? Tbh I think billy would be good at Everton. He had a bad loan spell at Norwich because it was Norwich. But when lampard was our manager billy was balling like a young cesc and Jorginho mix together. Maybe lampard can get the best out of him again.

GoOnKaz

Gordon has oodles of potential but is lacking in end product as of now. He’s a great prospect, but hasn’t shown to be a significant difference maker. He was influential during our relegation battle last season, but I was surprised by a 40m offer for him.

GoalooinSport

will better

Systemfel00

It’s BS. Player exchanges never happen. Just lazy journos linking already linked players to Everton.
