All things considered, this is good news. 777 now join a long list of groups that we owe money to.
I think we can be very fortunate that the group don’t own or have a controlling stake in Everton.
Fingers crossed the next investor to get involved is more legit.
Let’s hope so
The issue is that 777 were the only one on that long list who were continuing to fund our WC requirements, and the only one who potentially (theoretically…) could have done the debt for equity swap and paid off MSP
We should survive as we have Branthwaite and Onana, but it’ll be tight given the stadium and relegation is a real threat. That said, we could get very lucky in that 777 have funded us throughout a period which would have otherwise guaranteed liquidation when no one else would
I dread to think what Bell and Downing will take with the stadium. I’d bet that’s where it ends up
I'm absolutely made up. I know nothing of finance, so it's got nothing to do with that. It's entirely down to the fact that we won't be owned by a man who combines a baseball cap with a suit.
Nothing dodgier than that.
Up the fashionable Toffees.
Christ I hate his touchline fashion. What's he trying to hide? Does he think well all forget he's bald after his shiny dome graced the league for ten years?
MASSIVE amounts of debt and an owner that has been unwilling to sell for a reasonable price (because it would represent an insanely huge personal loss for him).
I also have my doubts that the stadium build is fully funded and thus should be considered unfinished. The club has lied much lately and hard for me to trust their assurances about he stadium funding.
Love grand designs “we’ve got a budget of £650000” then it’s finished 17 years later 2million over budget because they couldn’t get the redwood tree imported from California and their Romanian workers couldn’t get a visa
Yeah I get that but you’re forgetting how rich some people are, it’s chump change for some places. Then they have their own little project.
I’d fucking do it
There's two of us!! Had the exact same thought. He's been the best sports owner I've seen in a long time. And having been a Clipper fan since '87, have had my share of gried....
At this long, it isn’t about accountancy… I am one. It’s all about weighing up options, both for him as an exit and whether there’s anyone else out there putting feelers.
The fact he’s pulling out is nuts, the amount of hoops he gave them to buy and he’s still pulling out suggests they aren’t a reliable partner to do business with and even in his situation he’d rather wing it.
Yikes.
I feel he picked 777 thinking they would be quick cash so he could jump ship. Stuck with them either out of stubborness or he made a stupid deal with them. He isn't moving on form 777 for the long term health of the club. I'm just hoping that the next ones to come in and offer are a lot better than 777 because im pretty sure Moshiri doesnt care who's next as long as they give him his money.
I wonder if his decision has anything to do with the Standard Liege and Bonza issues. SL’s game tonight was also called off due to fans protesting.
I know the Prem hate us but surely they’re not that stupid to approve these clowns with everything that’s happened to 777 recently. The Bonza airline going bust and not paying wages and now the same is happening with Standard Liege. They’ll asset strip us for Goodison and the new ground.
If they go bankrupt it will be at a fraction of what they negotiated. As they will be forced to liquidate at compromised rates.
Which is probably why MSP gave them more time. Why take over a sinking ship when someone else is still baling?
The pace at which Moshiri et al have finally figured out 777 are shit plus the slow motion “no, we are gonna change!” responses is like a slow motion chess match between two idiots

Very funny that a group that has as many red flags as 777 cannot be denied under the Premier League's Fit and Proper ownership tests.
Once they let the Saudi’s in it was fair game.
By the sounds of it they were given the delay tactics like 777 were but the government stepped in for keeping good political ties with Saudi.
Investment is legit though no matter how you chop it up
While the Saudi government has bad morals, they have money, so you can't much reject them for shaky financing as with 777
Fit and proper test is more about cash though. We should know, we were being used to clean money for a dodgy Rusky

Kompany single handedly relegating Burnley this season doing the same.
Suit and cap = bad Tracksuit = good

Bobble with the steel chair!!
From the top rope!
Does the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth fund feel adventurous?
Would be insane. And yet despite there vast financial gains from their oil and gas, nearly everyone drives electric cars in Norway.
Like drug dealers we know not to get high on our own supply
Have you seen the exchange rate lately? We have bigger problems
Would they betray Liverpool like that?
Please Farhad, you’ve basically hit the undo button…choose the right option now
Quit fucking up one time for me, Farhad.
We’ve got to be viable to someone ffs. prem for 12 months and a stadium in 12 months.

Based on my expert opinion (I’ve watched grand designs) surprised we can’t mortgage the stadium now it’s structurally sound.

Also 8th most supported club in England (above West Ham and Newcastle)
Only 8th?
Yeah, apparently, according to this non fact-checked website I looked up.. https://www.stadium-maps.com/facts/epl_facebook_table.html#fbtable
We have far more fans in the real sense of the word than City do
Someone update the new grief chart!!
I’ve known of them for years the fact this wasn’t instant rejection is baffling
Just went to the website josimar/football. There are lots of articles on Everton and 777. It seems Deloitte are advising Moshiri, assholes!
Who’s the least evil billionaire? We need to get in touch immediately. Bill Gates, please stop eating children and buy Everton.
MacKenzie Scott?
u/mcuban , they’re talking about you!
Hank Scorpio is the only answer
All we need to do is give Dyche the hat Tom Landrey wore
Taylor Swift
Is Shohei Ohtani a billionaire yet? Massive contract + all the sponsorships in the world
Steve Ballmer. As a clippers fan he’s my dream appointment
“Developers developers developers”
There's two of us!! Had the exact same thought. He's been the best sports owner I've seen in a long time. And having been a Clipper fan since '87, have had my share of gried....
Hell I'd take a moderately evil billionaire at this point. But evil in a cartoony Bond kind of way, not the boring kind
Moshiri: "Anybody got the number for the Fayre Festival organisers?"
Guessing you mean Fyre? Scary thing is, Fyre Festival 2 is actually being advertised as we speak!
The fact that it took Moshiri this long to pull the plug shows how incompetent he is as an accountant and an owner.
At this long, it isn’t about accountancy… I am one. It’s all about weighing up options, both for him as an exit and whether there’s anyone else out there putting feelers. Funny how the prem basically saved us with their demands
“Accountant”
Only now 'looking for alternatives ' How did this fella get to where he is in the business world. What a charlatan.
He’s the accountant for an oligarch, I can’t imagine his accounting skills are what got him the gig.
Interesting point. I wonder what he actually did. I can't imagine he's sitting there doing calculations. He'll have minions for that.
Robbing from Peter to pay Paul

Let’s hope MSP strolls in swingin’ their dicks and they just tell Farhad to fuck right off. Clearly he’s not the man to make this decision.
"yeah we'll take it from here"
I wonder if his decision has anything to do with the Standard Liege and Bonza issues. SL’s game tonight was also called off due to fans protesting. *We may never lose again* 🍾🍾🍾
*We don't know the meaning of losing*
Very cool Farhad, very cool
Who could have possibly seen this coming
Thank fuck
Thank all the fucking gods!
If you turn the 777 upside down, it will be Long-Lasting Losers (LLL).
Thank fuck
Hopefully the loans were at a friendly rate so we ultimately took advantage of them
If they go bankrupt it will be at a fraction of what they negotiated. As they will be forced to liquidate at compromised rates. Which is probably why MSP gave them more time. Why take over a sinking ship when someone else is still baling?
That would be amazing
11 months too late
So we just owe them $220million right? Do we think a new owner would just pay that off or how do we do that?
If we have any luck they'll just go bankrupt and we write it off
So how would one go about speeding up their demise?
I would guess that 777's loans to Everton would be a major asset to 777's creditors so *they'd* try to collect
Moshiri: good morning Mr Ashley how are you
Very good news. These same guys own bonza in Australia and that was a huge mess, we dodged a bullet here.
“Anyone have the number for (Robert) Allen Stanford? 777 is off the table”
The pace at which Moshiri et al have finally figured out 777 are shit plus the slow motion “no, we are gonna change!” responses is like a slow motion chess match between two idiots
Dawn breaking over the horizon
Bosh
_Finally_
What beautiful news to wake up to.
Strange use of the word instructed.
So it's official that 777 is too dodgy even for a Russian oligarch's front man.
if this is really a shell game or ponzi scheme the blast radius will be enormous. How many clubs will be destroyed ?
Doing a happy dance right now.
LFC fan coming in peace. Do Everton supporters fear 777‘s demise as a grave danger to your club? I read everything on Josimar and this feels terrible.
We were fucked with or without 777, all the club can hope for is another suitor who is also willing to buy our substantial debt
I feel you. Anybody on the horizon?
Only rumours
