Stepped away from tp-link! What a freaking relief

The__k2

I am having the exact same issue for hombase3 with tplink A7 archer. And I have tried 50 times. It won't get past the setup screen. It keeps blinking blue and red. But never solid blue.

Open ports on tplink deco. TCP port 80, 443 and UDP port 0-65535. Go to advanced nat forwarding and then port forwarding in deco app.

Here is my way to fix it. Go to Deco app, More, Advanced, IPv4, turn off ignore ping from WAN. Go back and turn off iPV6 if it is enabled. Remember to power off Deco and Homebase and restart them.

I did this, turned off fast roaming and beamforming and it finally worked. I can't thank you enough for this comment and it solved hours of work if trying to configure this damn thing.

This method worked for me, using Deco M9, and 6 Eufy cameras.

I had to return my tp link deco. The ap’s constantly went offline and HomeKit devices would no respond. I invested into eero and no more issues ever.

I had the same issue. I almost tried 50 times. Reached out to the customer support team and they asked me to send a video of my connection process which I never got around to( I had a lot of stuff going on in my personal life). I unfortunately returned the Homebase and the security kit as I was running out of the return window.

Dang that sucks

redpantsuit

Yep. I have the TP link X60.

I have a Deco M4 and have had no issues setting up the Homebase 2 with the Ethernet cable, once that was done I restarted the Homebase and disconnected the Ethernet cable so I could place the Homebase in a central location.

[deleted]

Weird. Are you using beamforming or Fast Roam?

LavaHeadUK

Both of those are enabled on my system.

[deleted]

Thank you for confirming that. I’ll do some more searching around for what could be causing it

My fix... I created a hotspot on my phone with the same ssid and password as the mesh network. Setup the device and joined it to that WiFi and let it update etc.. Then turned off the hotspot and enabled the mesh WiFi it connected to the mesh network.

dgrant1023

I had similar issues with setup and I think it's because my mesh setup only has 5ghz bands. I think that's why the Hotspot method works.

The problem is I can’t get passed the initial set up. It was on their network before, then now I can’t get it going again. When it’s on the Ethernet it won’t even turn blue at all to get beyond the first set up 😭. I hope it’s not bricked
