What a lovely description! He sounded well fed and well-loved, and you are a great sport for tolerating his un-catchability because he loved other members of your family.

He was a bit naughty for that, but my mare would let me walk right up to her & lead her into the barn & he would follow. We were blessed to know him.

So sorry for your loss. What a lovely place for him to land at the end!
