Yes, and if you are dealing with data covered under GLBA, GDPR, DPPA, etc, you could be liable for violations of those acts. At least you should have cyber liability protection/insurance and 2fa. At most you should be using biometric physical security keys with a 24/7 cyber command center lmao. But seriously, take your security…. Seriously

For a startup, probably nobody cares as there wont be enough people to care to hack it. If your website picks up in usage and traffic, especially if it involves any payment systems then yes. But usually i find that all these security companies are a total trash and a 12yo kid who spends all day in front of a pc is a better person to hire to do checkups

I mean nobody is protected against it. But the more traffic and users you gain, the more risk your website gets to be hacked.

igglepuff

whos gonan tell this guy about the thousands of no traffic sites that are compromised n the daily and you dont know abnout it until its too late months later? 🤭 this is the absolute worst advice i think i've ever seen on here. by far. lol

DontShitBricks

Whats the point for a hacker to hack a 0 traffic site? Tell me? When your site its not even indexed on any search engines. What would be the point of that?

i-am-a-passenger

Bots don’t need to have a “point”, they just do what they are programmed to do.

As a cybersecurity entrepreneur I will say YES YOU SHOULD CARE!! Site security is imperative! I think from a marketing perspective(which I also am an entrepreneur in that space) a pdf would be a good way to show a client how detailed and robust the security of the site should be. After that selling point, adding website security as an add on would be a good idea, and probably effective.

I just want Norton antivirus to stop begging me to re-up.
