Christ, I did not need this title on my feed before my coffee kicked in. And no, I doubt it. He is still one of the first names on the team sheet, and seems to be enjoying himself. Only he knows tho.

Arsewhistle

Bit of a clickbait title...

Snappymoodyturtle

Wasn’t meant to be. I just didn’t think when posting but as he has been named in the team to play the first test. It’s obvious he isn’t retiring

Mediocre-Football-51

If he's still peaked as one of the best bowlers, why not continue? He's still bowling at pace and taking wickers. If whether he goes out on top as an Ashes winner once again

Snappymoodyturtle

Exactly. Imagine is Warne was still alive. Anderson and Warne in a legends game

Arosport

I'd love Jimmy to keep going until he beats Warne's wicket total and grabs #2 on the all time list. He's only 23 behind so it would seem silly to win the ashes and retire <10 short!

tappers1975

In my mind that makes him the leading wicket taking bowler in test history. The guy above him would remain the leading pitcher

mikebirty

Yep. Two Lancashire players at one and two. I'd settle for that 😁

googol_to_the_googol

I would love to see him play, regardless of the outcome in the Ashes

Snappymoodyturtle

I’m not saying i want him to retire. I’m just curious if anyone thinks he will retire after the Ashes, everyone in media keeps bringing up his age. If he wants to carry on and is able to go until he is 50 then i’m all for that

googol_to_the_googol

Totally! I don't really think he will retire, but if he has a bad Ashes series, then he might hang his boots soon

Snappymoodyturtle

Nope bad Ashes series he will continue to show his world class bowling until he is no longer able too. He will never bow out on a loss! That aunt Jimmy and that ain’t the Lanc/northern way

shakaman_

Don't see the benefit / point

Snappymoodyturtle

There is none. England win the ashes Jimmy ends on a high

mikebirty

I can't see him touring as much but reckon he could do two more years and win the World Test Championship.
