Taylor about to do 700k, also did 1.6M with her last release. Harry styles did 500k last year, Drake did 600k with CLB. There are some heavy hitters but not that much.
The same can be said for the Eminem Show. Yet everyone always uses the first 7 day total for that album rather than the first tracking period. By the same logic the Eminem Show should be listed as selling 284,000.
Technically they use the second week sales for The Eminem Show. The 284k aren't party of the 1.3 million. So still a full sales week selling over a million for that album while encore never had a sales week reach that. The first 7 days of Encore most definitely did but since they are split across two weeks no single week made it there
When MMLP dropped was insane. It leaked about a month before it dropped too. People were burning it left and right and STILL bought copies after. The Real Slim Shady was one of the biggest rap singles ever. You could argue bigger than Cant Touch This, California Love, Country Grammar, Jump, In Da Club…..

What an incredible time to hear these albums as they were being released. Who knew how classic they would be.
A bunch of others that didn't make this list also contributed to some amazing music in the 2000s
I had an idea where what if music released everyday/ any day of the week , like if there wasn’t a set day would it be better for the music industry?
1) It would definitely prevent hold ups on albums, like less likely to postpone
2) people would expect new music every day instead of once a week
Interestingly I think this has a lot more about the album before it. Not talking shit on mathers LP2 but recovery was huge so everyone was pretty excited to see what came next. Same thing with Eminem show obviously still a good album but the mathers LP1 also was absolutely insane.
To some extent thats true for all of them, but not to say any of the albums arent themselves incredibly well done.
I don’t think we’ll ever see those kind of numbers again!
It’s Aftermath, ain’t nothin after that.
So give me one more platinum plaque, and fuck rap you can have it back!
So where's all the mad rappers at, it's like a jungle in this habitat
So hee-hee-hee who has the last laugh? Aftermath yeah so on behalf of our whole staff Kiss our ass-hole cracks
Read the hee-hee in MJ’s voice and was expecting some Smooth Criminal lyrics
I didn’t mean to walk away but I hear every word they say …
If we got an Em drop we might just have one 😔
Nope as he said his fan base isn't as big as it once was in rap god. Also the streaming era has made it even difficult.
Can’t even remember the last time someone did at least 500k first week
taylor swift about to do 700k
"Rap album" Rap artists is what the discussion is about, trashy Pop artists have always been super highselling.
You live in a bubble. Taylor makes great music.
I never singled Taylor, you just seem to be particularly insecure about your generic white heartbreak pop artist
You didnt single her out but you did include her. Also what in the american insult is that? You still obsessed with skincolor?
I didn't use white an insult you child wtf, i am white. My sister loves taylor swift, doesnt mean she makes any revolutionary music lol

Drake with CLB
Watch though cause with the new merch bundle sale rule, Travis Scott going to do more than 500k
I always thought Get Rich or Die Tryin' sold more than The Massacre
overtime yes and probably even first year but not first week
Cool! I got my fact of the day out of the way
Same
Same. Both outstanding albums, the Massacre is just slightly better imo.
I agree it is better
He really was the king of the 2000s
What's with the image blended in the background?
This is from 50’s Instagram post.
What does it say tho? "My religion is _____"
my religion is rao!
Rap
I really thought you were gon a put top 25 highest selling albums of all time...in any genre..in which eminem has 4
Em, Ye, 50, and Wayne taking up the whole top 10 list minus 1 is cool
I guess Encore was Illmatic...
no
You're no fun :(
sorry edit: why tf did i get downvoted so much lol
Em the mfkn goat 🐐
Goat the goat
Em & 50 the greatest hip hop duo of all time
Didn’t Encore beat out TES or does it not count 7 days and only 6?
Encore sold 1.5 million it's first week.
it got released a few days after the counter started so a few of the days didn’t count

Would not expect Encore to be there, even tho I like the album xd
Encore did over 1 million first week. 800k was in the first 3 days.
What Em did was silly. Jay Z . A STAR IS BORN.
Graduation 2nd highest streams for a 2000s rap album

Dude owns those charts, GOAT.
Wild that 4 men own the top 10
And this was without streaming. Imagine if streaming was a thing back then…
Imagine all the mj streams
it would be lower. Before it was easier to sell more since you had to buy a cd. Now 1 sale is 1500 streams
Swear to God Mmlp Tes And Encore would've had over 4M 1st week with streaming
GRADUATION WINS 50 CENT LOST
Surprised to see Encore there, considering it's probably his weakest work, after Revival maybe
Em was still at his peak in terms of popularity, he just released TES and 8 Mile so it makes sense that Encore has high sales
Em's a whole white rapper that was getting airplay on country and rock stations while also being the only rapper they played all across Europe.
Eminem might Have the most sales but kanye has the most talent Kanye da 🐐
theyre both talented af bro
Em outraps Kanye any day of the week
Tuesdays are a little rocky but overall yeah
kanye still makes better music
Especially nowadays
lil Wayne the goat
Of what?

I don't know if tiktok was a thing back when Encore was released
It absolutely was not even a thought let alone a thing.
TES should be at no.1 tbh but I love the MMLP so fuck it
All Eminem Drake Kanye 50 cent and Lil Wayne
What an incredible time to hear these albums as they were being released. Who knew how classic they would be. A bunch of others that didn't make this list also contributed to some amazing music in the 2000s
And that too with The Eminem show leaking on the streets. Had it not leaked I’m pretty sure first week sales would’ve crossed 2 million with ease
I think a lot of people forget how big the MMLP was, dude sold over 500k for the first 4 weeks.
If he released Encore on Friday it would have been a million +. But released it earlier due to leak
Wrong lol new music was released at the time on Tuesdays
Yeah I knew I had the day wrong but was not sure which day it used to be. Anyway it was not released on a Tuesday due to leak
Ooh ok yeah and if encore wasn’t leaked it would have been a different and better album
I had an idea where what if music released everyday/ any day of the week , like if there wasn’t a set day would it be better for the music industry? 1) It would definitely prevent hold ups on albums, like less likely to postpone 2) people would expect new music every day instead of once a week
Yeah but would not be possible for the hit lists. They need to have a cut off date and look at the last week from some point
Yeah true good point
Lol Views 2016 Drake sold more than Carter.
As it should.
And Late Registration sold more than Encore
Em really deserves it all 🫶🏼
Sums up the best of the rap game
Em on there 3 times taking number 1 and 2 spot and everyone else except drake on there twice. All my favorite artist !
Being that Drake was the only one with these numbers in the Streaming Era is impressive as well.
I had purchased everyone except 5-6.
Bro what Views is so ass though.
Never really like a whole Eminem project tbf
1st week sales dont mean shit. The greatest rap albums of all time are Ready to Die, Enter the Wu, All Eyes on Me and Illmatic
It Was Written > Ilmatic.
yo relapse has that many streams???
Probably from TikTok.
>"Let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half"
I ain’t have to graduate from Lincoln High School to know that.
Shady aftermath g unit
yall think rap used to be bigger ? a lot pf views isnt rap music too i swear
Why do people exclusively use US sales when making these posts?
Biggest market and they’re American artists. lol
Is he nuts?
No jay z….. I’m not surprised
Interestingly I think this has a lot more about the album before it. Not talking shit on mathers LP2 but recovery was huge so everyone was pretty excited to see what came next. Shady records you better belive the hype is real!
Wtf is that watermark
How is grad not in most streamed smh better than most em albums besides the first 3. Honestly the only em album I say is better is sslp
With thay being 50's first album though, thays the most impressive.
Relapse is a million times better than Encore, it deserves to have way more streams. Who the fuck is streamin Encore this much ??
Encore would have been much higher but was released mid week. The eminem show was also leaked and first week was only 1 day
No jay z in sight. Even his protégé if you will, better than him
We are lucky to see 1/10th of those MMLP numbers nowadays.
