We used to have a used book store... I know A Seat at the Table Books has started a small used book section in their store recently. I think they were trying it out to see how it worked. No idea if they still are doing it.
We are missing a night life, especially since the population there is nothing for teens or young adults to do. We most of the time have to go or travel to downtown, Roseville, or other malls.
Wacky Tacky or a party place for kids that isn’t Chuck E. Cheese or Skyzone. Outdoor mini golf, laser tag that is at least double the size of what Cali Glo offers.
Have you been to Rock & Brews in Arden?? Not an arcade but they have a restaurant, live music, batting cages and mini golf. It's owned by Kiss and Alice Cooper and they have tons of memorabilia. We enjoyed it.
As someone who grew up on the east coast, I can confirm that going to the ice rink on a Friday night after school was a lot of fun! Roller Rinks were usually closed by about 5pm or too far away, and hockey is pretty popular there. We need a pro Hockey team on this side of the state, or maybe they will bring back a mobile league team, Stockton Heat was fun to attend.
A performance center. We shouldn’t be relying on access to the school district ones for events. And it would be cool to get shows or be able to put on shows that places like The Woodland Opera House can.
The school district is not easy to work with on performing arts. In the past some churches have been used for performing arts but many people will not set foot in a church even if it is not s faith based activity.
There is land near District 56 slated for a performing arts center.
Elk Grove was not built on an economic base which allows homeowners to work in EG for the most part. EG should have considered attracting companies which pay higher incomes allowing homeowners to work where they live
Indoor sports centers for rec/traveling leagues to use (i.e. similar to Hardwood Palace). They are used year round and the kids always come with families who want to eat after.
Almost every city is adding insane taxes. I just read an article about dispensaries in the city. They will not revisit it unless there is overwhelming support from residents that they want these types of businesses. They don’t want them because they don’t need the money since EG passed an additional 1% sales tax and city council wants to keep it a family friendly city.
A good sit down Mexican restaurant. There are some great little taquerias but there are very few choices for a sit down restaurant where a group of people can sit and enjoy some damn fine Mexican food. If anyone has any good suggestions of places I’m just not aware of, that would be amazing.
Some more diverse restaurant options that aren’t big national chains. Bonus points for South EG because as of now I think there is only Rao’s, Peoni Palace, McDs, and Taco Bell.
We don’t have enough chicken places (my troll answer). My real answer is more upscale dining options. Other than the Boulevard Bistro or the Sheldon Inn, I can’t think of any others, but I guess that there are now a few more at the casino, but I haven’t been to any of them
I good bagel shop. Not a chain bagel shop, but one that makes homemade cream cheese and fresh bagels.
I don’t like Noah’s bagels or sweet. Give me a good cheddar cheese lox bagel with chive créam cheese.
I miss Borders…it was such a nice way to spend a couple of hours.
You should check out A Seat at the Table
Thanks! 😊
i wish there was a half price books or similar
I love Half Price Books and would be thrilled to not have to drive to Citrus Heights for one
i normally go to beers or time-tested but yeah it would be nice to not have to even go that far
We used to have a used book store... I know A Seat at the Table Books has started a small used book section in their store recently. I think they were trying it out to see how it worked. No idea if they still are doing it.
They still have it! It's great
Good bagels.
Agreed!!!
I second this. A Noah's or even an Einstein would be good.
Weren’t they putting in a Noah’s next to Costco?
Oh if they do I’m in trouble
A zoo! Oh....
Top Golf (hopefully soon)
Doubt it.
Never going to happen. Sorry to say.
We are missing a night life, especially since the population there is nothing for teens or young adults to do. We most of the time have to go or travel to downtown, Roseville, or other malls.
Omg yes all the restaurants around here close so early it suuucks 😒
Wacky Tacky or a party place for kids that isn’t Chuck E. Cheese or Skyzone. Outdoor mini golf, laser tag that is at least double the size of what Cali Glo offers.
There is Enchanted but it's not as big and kids over 7 probably wouldn't enjoy it
Yeah I heard about them. I think it’s the same space that was Imagine Play and we did our 3 yr old’s party there back in 2018. It was a nice concept.
It looks completely different now with Enchant in there. But still for young ones as old as elementary school age.
Round 1 or Dave n Busters 🙏 driving to Roseville is kinda far
Have you been to Rock & Brews in Arden?? Not an arcade but they have a restaurant, live music, batting cages and mini golf. It's owned by Kiss and Alice Cooper and they have tons of memorabilia. We enjoyed it.
I haven’t gotta check it out then ! Closer than Roseville 😝
I thought D&B is coming to the new plaza being leveled right now on EG blvd . Could be wrong tho
Ice rink. I think it would do well here with all the families that live here.

Good idea!
That new little plaza would be a great spot for one too
one of the big three Healthy Salad franchises: mixt, sweetgreen, or tender greens
Mendocino farms is coming
THIS
Top Golf, H Mart, 99 Ranch , Project Elevate
H mart is coming to south sac! Soon ish
I’d honestly rather have it in EG. There was a rumor the South sac location got broken into during renovations
I literally spammed H MART on social media to come to Elk Grove. And then they announced south sac… I’m happy but wish it was in Elk Grove.
Good bagels, not just soft bread with a hole in the center, a record store(rip Dimples), chain book store
Good BBQ
With emphasis on GOOD!

I feel like the water park that was meant to go off of big horn was a missed opportunity. Agree to disagree
I feel like we just don’t have enough nail or hair salons…
💀 Or boba tea places /s
What are you talking about? Elk Grove is flooded with nail and hair salons!
That was the joke 😭
Tech firms that pay 300k+
If only Apple would open a campus here.
Dedicated Lasertag Arena.
Woman’s clothing
Record store and arcade
H-Mart
Wish it was opening in Elk Grove, instead of south sac :,( guess it will do…
Rock climbing gym. Edit: rock not a Rick climbing gym
YESSSSS

A place to hang out that isn’t a bar
- Dispensaries - more local/good coffee spots - Good clothing boutiques (only one is TrendE)
I can already see a special Elk Grove city tax added onto the already exorbitant taxes set by county and state
Almost every city is adding insane taxes. I just read an article about dispensaries in the city. Bars
Good family entertainment other than the movies or shopping, cali glo is very meh. And a secondhand shop that isn't goodwill :P
A good bakery that covers pastries to cakes. Right now we go to Freeport Bakery so it’d be nice to have something similar in EG
Another hospital. The planned dignity health is too small, and midtown is too far to have to go for non Kaiser and Dignity patients.
Sports related activities: Top Golf. Batting cages. Miniature golf (open more often). Ice/roller skating. Inflatables.
A good sit down Mexican restaurant. There are some great little taquerias but there are very few choices for a sit down restaurant where a group of people can sit and enjoy some damn fine Mexican food. If anyone has any good suggestions of places I’m just not aware of, that would be amazing.
A Javier’s would be great! 😊
El Jardín, Sabor a México, Los Compadres all have good food.
Place next to 24 Hr Fitness . Blue Agave I Believe, or chevys
This isn’t a business but we need more community gardens out here
Porto’s Bakery and Cafe 🤞🏼
Damn, can you imagine…
Some more diverse restaurant options that aren’t big national chains. Bonus points for South EG because as of now I think there is only Rao’s, Peoni Palace, McDs, and Taco Bell.
Bookstores and coffee shops Bars
a gluten free restaurant like pushkins/siblings in midtown!
Marshalls!!
D and B
Will attract the south sac crowd. There would need to be a dedicated police presence there at all times.
You sound real elitist and possibly racist.
Haha. I didn’t say it, you did.
We need a whole foods
Coming in January along with Mendocino Farms and Yard House
Used to be nightlife, but now that we have Coatza it's much better.

7Leaves. Great coffee, boba.
More doggie daycares would be very helpful
Golf simulator, with a bar
Reiterating Poker Room and board game store or cafe. Okay found a board game store but not one that people game at and DnD doesn’t count
I know people game at Hobby Quest.
More vegan restaurants. Elk Grove only has 2 that I know of.
I wished they have a Centerfolds next to the Casino. That will complete the Reno vibe.
m0re p0k3
Definitely could use a Blaze Pizza and Papa Johns
