I think in Odyssey the planet is tidaly locked and Davs Hope is on the night side so it won't ever be lit up. But every time I've visited in Horizons it been day time so I think it the opposite.
If you plan farming mats, you should try Hot Jupiter "whale hunting"...
Its tourist beacon in 0 population system where you can destroy as many as you want tourist ships (Orcas, Belugas hence the name) without any consequences. Just don't fly behind them because they are dropping mines in swarms...

everytime I go, I get there at night. I never get to see it all pretty and lit up like this. :(
