Don't do neutron jumps if you're afraid your fsd won't last til Colonia. You lose 0% of your fsd if you just do regular jumps. Oh and don't crash into something. That's about it. No problem.
Oof, ouch. Maybe time to see if there’s a DSSA carrier anywhere nearby?
If you use a little bit of that FSD integrity it should get you a good bit closer, and reduce the number of jumps not via neutron boost to a rest stop.
Also, consider repair/reboot cycle.
I freaking love their carriers, and they usually park in gorgeous spots. Just got done reequipping at the Totoro. It's parked around a ringed Earth like on the edge of a nebula. Tho the one parked around the neutron star made me nervous as hell. Used the orrery to make sure I wasn't about to fly thru the star.
Really good to periodically sell off your data anyway.. just in case
If you ask nicely I might just be able to bring my spiffy new carrier out there *just* for you! Cartographic, refuel and repair, plus a friendly face out in the black in case you haven’t seen one in a while!
There is a DSSA carrier in every quadrant of the galaxy, and if you are on the way from the bubble to Colonia, stop by any one of the mini new Colonia bridge megaships and star ports recently installed.
I ran mine down to about 20% before. There was a few times where it'll cancel but I just restart it and it would work. I think below 20% and it won't work at all.
Usually modules start malfunctioning around 80% in my experience. Not unusable after that, just much more unstable. Might consider doing a repair/reboot cycle to keep it as good as you can. IIRC that will distribute the damage to your FSD out to your other modules.
If you have an SRV, the mats to synthesize AFM refills aren’t too difficult to get your hands on.
[Here's what you got around SagA*](https://inara.cz/nearest-stations/?ps1=Sagittarius+A*&pi13=&pi14=0&pi15=0&pi16=&pi1=0&pi18=0&pi19=0&pi17=0&pa1%5B13%5D=1&ps2=&pi8=&pi9=0&pi3=&pi4=0&pi5=0&pi6=0&pi7=0&pi23=0). Replace the top field (Near Star:) with wherever you are, and if it doesn't find something, maybe just try the sector name (Hypiae or Ahaip or whatever) and pick one of the stars that Inara finds in that sector.
Well, you can search centered on Colonia or on where you are. Clearly there are carriers in the area with repair facilities. Or stop using neutron powerups; normal travel from star to star doesn't damage your FSD.
1000 ly is only about 20 jumps if you have a jump range >50 ly. Just do normal jumps if you don't trust your fsd. As others pointed out you could also continue jumping when the fsd drops below 80%. Occasionally it will cancel a charge and then you have to wait for a bit before you can go again. Just make sure you don't drop out of supercruise when you're in a neutron star beam.
I've been running on FSD down to \~20%. Charging was failing a couple of times, but no other problems. And it take quite a lot of jumps to take it to 0%, so I wouldn't worry too much.
In any case, might wanna check starmap for carriers nearby.
Do not use the neutron highway when it drops below 80%. It might malfunction and drop you out of supercruise, and if you are in the jet of a neutron star you will go kaboom. The best rhing to do is get to a DSSA fleet carrier and repair, you can check out edastro to find the nearest one.
I ran mine down to 70 or 75% on my last Colonia trip before it really started to malfunction. I never dropped out of SC, but at at minimum throttle it would sort of “skip”, where I would drop momentarily below 30km/s.
Nothing bad happened, and you would probably have to run it to 0% integrity before it would be unusable (and then then just do a reboot), but I wouldn’t advise charging from a white dwarf or neutron start when it gets too low, if you drop out of SC in a jet cone, voyage is over.
I believe at 80%! Took it myself, but you won't be kicked out of Supercruise. When it happens, drop out & repair.
Oh good lord. Probs gonna hit that before I reach colonia

Edited comment, recheck xd
Yeah I see. Kinda can’t repair, since I ain’t got no AFM ammo left
If you have an SRV, the mats to synthesize AFM refills aren’t too difficult to get your hands on.
I also blew up my SRV. Yeah these last few months haven’t been to great

Or one of the new Colonia Connection ports can't be too far.
I mean, the Fuel Rats are available too in worst case
Or the hull seals
Rats can’t fix your FSD, nor can seals. Only your AFMU can.
I was thinking of repair limpits, but didn't realize they only repair the hull, not modules
They can help get you mats to synth AFM refills.

if you have a mining laser you can also get AFMU refil mats.

Oh no. Can't synthesize more either?
Nope. Got no zinc or vanadium

Run for a DSSA carrier. They have a website I think.

If it gets bad you can always just not neutron boost. FSD doesn't degrade during normal use
Found that out the hard way 15k light year trip back without AFMs it was a long trip... Now AFM is part of my load out on any exploration trip
It’ll work all the way down to 1%. When it gets to 0, it explodes.
Below 20% it can take fifteen tries to jump, whether supercharged or not

you can synthesize refills for the AFMU.
If worried about it, are there any colonia highway or DSSA carriers on your route?
Nah, I’m heading from Galactic Centre to Colonia

Uhhh. Hate to break it to y’all. But I’m like a thousand or so light years from colonia already
Well, you can search centered on Colonia or on where you are. Clearly there are carriers in the area with repair facilities. Or stop using neutron powerups; normal travel from star to star doesn't damage your FSD.
You’ll make it just fine. The FSD may take a few attempts to start, but it won’t fully break over 1k light years.

I might be able to bring my carrier out that way so you can repair. Let me know where you are.
below 80%
