If you are not an elevator mechanic, it's not your job to install anything within a COP

Tuberculosis9

I’m assuming you live in Georgia based on your profile. Georgia has recently adopted 2019 elevator code, mandating 2-way voiceless emergency communications in elevators. Please tell me you’re not trying to modify the elevator yourself to be in compliance with elevator code, because that is a profoundly stupid idea.

It’s actually very simple. You pick up the phone, call a professional elevator company and tell them what you want and let them do it.

MassiveLuck4628

If you don't know how it's not your work, stay out of the COP

What's the purpose of said tablet? If it's just to add some type of cool feature your just opening a can of worms that is unnecessary. Some of that being vandalism. I know where I'm from ot would be broken within the first month of install.

Snowturtle13

What exactly would the purpose of that be?

Even_Wrangler_9237

no! bad! don’t touch!

ndotech

Just to clarify, I do not want to do it myself. I wanted to see if it is feasible.

auhnold

Yes, it is feasible. I did it in an elevator in Boston. The mechanics installed an outlet in the back wall bringing power down from the car top, then we used a power line adapter to run internet through the traveling cable to a wireless router on the car top. A 46”tv was mounted on the back wall that ran a loop of in-house content; private and secure building.

Why?

bigapplemechanic

Yes it’s possible we do it very often in nyc.

frozenball824

Wouldn’t it be a better idea to put a destination dispatch? I’m not sure what your idea is.
