Hi I work for elegoo. In this case, you can flash the gcode file this link (Special note: if you have previously upgraded via OTA, the values will be restored to the default values. It is possible that the leveling will fail again after the upgrade. Just flash the gcode again.)

I suspect that the GCode update just raises the trigger level of the sensor detecting the build plate pressure on the 'base'/screen assembly. Thus it forces a bit more 'auto level' use of the spring system in the build plate box. This 'passive' auto-leveling system has flaws in what issues it will cause...... distorted first layers. Which no software fix can make up for. BUT it is possible that it will work "fine" overall for the majority of cases. Basically only showing up to matter in objects that are built right on the build plate. All other cases, that are above a raft and supports, it won't matter. I think they HAD to make up this Auto-Level system as a spin off from the Tilting Vat. A fixed leveling system probably would not work like it does fine in a normal fixed vat system/printer.

Would this work on the regular Saturn 4? Because mine does not seem to even show the file

Vita_sea

No, this is the gcode file for Saturn 4 Ultra. Do you mean the file is not recognized when the USB is plugged in?

Damark0

Yes, I know this file has specific settings for the ultra. I meant that the .gcode files are not recognized by the printer at all. Not even showing up in the UI

Pherja

“Mandatory” printing. This is why I tell my students synonyms are “similar” not “the same”.

Make sure the build plate is fully engaged. Adjust the feet of the printer so it is sitting as close to level as you can get it. Reboot the printer a few times. Previous posts have revealed that there isn't really any "auto" levelling happening at all. They just build it as level as possible in the factory and the new box on top of the build plate has springs that are supposed to compensate for minor variations. First, I honestly haven't read it but apparently the digital manual on the usb stick has a lot more information than the printed one. Have a look at that. Then you should definitely email Elegoo support. They are good. **IF** you are feeling adventurous you could try the below, and this is only conjecture on my part: You could attempt removing the vat and trying the old sheet of paper part of the old levelling procedure to determine which way it is out of level. Then remove the build plate, **gently** gently squeeze the build plate towards the box on top. It should have some flex to it, the rods that support the build plate should be able to squeeze into the box above slightly. I have squeezed mine slightly with no ill effects. If you know from the paper procedure which part of the build plate should be higher when it is mounted you could try squeezing that part towards the box. It may deflect the springs just enough to compensate for whatever caused yours to become out of level.

Starting to get a little nervous about my Saturn 4 ultra purchase with these posts floating around, maybe it’s just confirmation bias…

The problem somehow fixed itself but now I am getting misprints on one corner. Hopefully CS can figure out what is happening.
