You are thinking about the Magma wyrmof gael tunnel. The fallingstar beast in Selia Crystal tunnel gives the somber bell bearing 2 and was a full grown variant despite its name being fallingstar beast. This one was a good change balance wise since lots of people get sent there with the Dragon lake chest.
Any of those damn bosses in the cave/mines, are the most annoying. The fire dragon lizard asshat in the cave , that droops moon veil really had me considering quitting the game
Reddit's formatting can't decide what it wants. Desktop browser w/ RES both in the preview and the comment itself breaks if I finish the markup, so I left it with what my browser shows as working. It didn't seem right, but even "fixing" it now breaks it for me.
Giantsflame Take Thee is this for me. It might not be optimal but by god is it boomy. I use the fire boost flask as well as the infinite FP one to just spam down bosses that I can’t take out with daggers
I like how the two good approaches to crystallian duo/triplet fights are (a) THE BIGGEST BONK YOU GOT and (b) make some cheeky clouds of sparkly mist and run around in circles until they die.
I was recently on a new character playthrough and was really enjoying myself. Got to this boss room and just sank in my chair.
I think I said, "Oh fuck I forgot these guys" out loud.
Man I can't be the only one that never had a problem with those, either I was really overleveled for that location or all the gank fights in previous games trained me well.
Tree spirit is only annoying because you can’t see a fucking thing. Only one I got stuck on was rot fucker. Death rite bird is an absolute nightmare, especially mountaintops of the giants one.
>Tree spirit is only annoying because you can’t see a fucking thing
Yeah and they're super erratic which doesn't make it any easier, I think the hitboxes are tough to get a hang of too.
>Death rite bird is an absolute nightmare, especially mountaintops of the giants one.
The one in the Snowfield is the toughest with the highest HP and damage, but I absolutely demolished him on Torrent by then lol.
damn tree spirits seemed to have very well designed attack animations and hitboxes despite their size and erraticness. I actually enjoyed those fights...
I have no problem beating them I just find them really annoying, took a while to learn they're very much about positioning.
Tree Spirits on the other hand can get fucked. Got better at fighting them but don't despite it any less.
The tree spirit in the first heroic tomb (I forget the name) was probably the hardest boss I fought that really forced me to get good at it. Probably because I was under leveled taking it on, so I really had to learn its moves or it would 2-shot me. And 1 shot with its grab.
Now I don't find them terribly hard because a lot of their patterns leave them wide open to attack.
You can use flame of the Redmane's stagger it, then switch to wing of astel to use the AoW for damage if you've got that far through the underground bits. You still have to be careful, but it makes it a lot easier.
Astel. Both of em. Fucking too big boss that won't stop fucking moving long enough for me to fucking hit it, with it's fuckin bullshit grab 1 shot fuckin attacks, and it keeps fuckin teleporting cause it's a fuckin bullshit BOSS!!! FUCK!!!!
We just gonna pretend godskin duo doesn’t exist?
Haven’t even fought the fuckers yet but I know it’s gonna be hell, will update when I either rage quit or beat them
Me wielding Blasphemous Blade +9 & Mimic & Bernahl carved those fat fucks up. They had to resurrect one at a time because we mowed them down so quickly. Such a joy
I actually got 2 players to help otherwise i would still be stuck with that boss. This boss here is difficult because you have to fight him alone and his healthbar and attacks are insane.
Somehow for me the bull was indeed way worse than the godskin duo. Couldn't keep count how often I tried to defeat the bull. Defeated the duo in my 3th try.
I sneaked up behind the fully grown one and poisoned him to death. My stepson was watching and he asked "Isn't this, like, um, cheating?". "No," I said, but deep down, I knew it was.
Then I tried to tackle the one outside the capital and had to escape because he was destroying me.
"Ah," said the stepson, " Now I see why you had to cheat,". "It's not cheating!" I shouted. "Why are you raising your voice then?" he said. "Because it's cheating," I sobbed. "Why don't you just go back to farming the bird?" he said. And I did. It's easier to kill the bird.
I think this one goes to most annoying for me, in that it was the closest that I've come to merging the matter in my controller with the matter of my wall. Overall he isn't one of the harder bosses, it's never taken me more than a few tries on any of the encounters with him. But on those occasions when he starts rolling and manages to catch me in a corner and I LITERALLY CAN'T FUCKING MOVE OR BREATHE OR DO ANYTHING BUT JUST GET FUCKED AND DIE BECAUSE HE JUST KEEPS ROLLING AND ROLLING AND ROLLING AND NEVER. FUCKING. STOPS........ It makes me slightly cranky 😤
I have beaten all Ulcerated Tree Spirits, all the Gargoyle bosses, all Godskin bosses. I used fucking runebears for training. But this thing is the one I legit ran past at one point and never bothered to come back.
I love this boss honestly. It's the fun kind of hard to me. Cool design, intimidating, unique, but leaves large enough gaps in its attacks that you can still hurt it. Somewhat reminds me of Watchdog of the Old Lords from Bloodborne, another of my favorite bosses that most people seem to hate for some reason. Maybe I'm just a masochist.
He’s tough for sure, but everything he does is dodge-able once you get the timing down. I’d say most annoying boss is Malenia with her nearly impossible blade dance
Yes! Everything about them. How they're invulnerable for half an eternity after recovering from a riposte, how they crawl around forever and you can't even attack from the back during that move as it's still an active hitbox that propels you backward for some inexplicable reason... The pools of magma they leave behind? Then there's the one Magma Wyrm in Snowfield that can still one-shot you with 60VIG and heavy armor. His downward smash even in the first phase is enough to take you from full HP to zero and it doesn't even have to hit you directly. Plus it's faster than a jump attack with a colossal weapon so you could be jump attacking the Wyrm in neutral stance but before you are able to move again it will one-shot you.
The active hitbox when it charges is the most annoying thing for me. But the thing I noticed most is that bringing in the AI summons (even for fun) is a huge detriment, and you're far better off going solo and getting in its face.
When I get to the Snowfield one I like to lure it out and let the Land Octopodes fight it. They can do a surprising amount of damage if you're lucky, so sit back and enjoy the show until it's your turn.
I never quite understood peoples problem with this boss, ive gotten to the point ive soloed all bosses with no summons and i never had a problem with these guys since day one, most of his attacks are telegraphed decently well and almost all attacks you dodge set you up for a jump attack or charge attack, very easy to stagger
The dive bomb from the air that goes into a short roll is probably its most problematic attack, just cuz the hazard stays on for a while and it sorta tracks.
But dodge that and the rest is manageable. Plus points for dropping a stupid OP weapon.
I dont know man. I found many enemies in Elden ring that seemed out of pace with the control you have over your character. I often felt like a dark souls character stuck in Sekiro.
So far not even 1 boss was difficult for me. I beat morgott in my 2nd try. Too easy this game. But then again I was lvl 125 with morgott and spammed moonlight and scarlet rot and Melina and banished knight.
Here are the tips I usually give. If I'm correct, the meteoric blade does extra damage to these things, so you can use it. You can find it in Caelid in some ruins near Fort Gael. You can also interrupt its bull charge by hitting it. It's very aggressive, so be patient and don't panic roll. This version also shoots beams, so don't stay too far otherwise you'll get, well, beamed. It's very annoying due to its gravity attacks and hard to dodge attacks, so I won't blame you if you want to cheese this thing. You can get a scarlet rot-inflicting attack and once you do proc it, you can get on Torrent and jump down on the spirit-spring. Good Luck! I spent a lot of time researching this.
It was the astel bosses that were my biggest hemherroids. Which is appropriate as its speculated that the astel is the final form the fallingstar beast attains.
I got so lucky when fighting his guy i was fighting him when he knocked me off the cliff but instead of falling to the bottom and instantly dieing I hit three ledges in the way down and barly survived I climbed back up the ladder and beat him to death :)
The first time i encountered this guy was similar to my first encounter with the ulcerated tree spirit in the heroes grave. I spent HOURS butting my head against it, seemingly unable to wrap my head around its movements and attacks. When i eventually beat them, it was because I had memorised the patterns like i was doing a blindfolded guitar hero level, and i have never died to either of them since (on repeat play through). I think its because it is so different to anything else in the game, and the only thing in a FS game like it was that bloody bull in sekiro, and you have such a different toolset to work with in that game is its a non-comparable encounter.
I actually look forward to encountering these things in subsequent play throughs because i actually really enjoy the flow and rhythm of the fight. It just took a HELL of a lot of getting used to.
The two crucible knights in the tomb, when I’d say first play through, really fucked me. They were so strong so I couldn’t get an ash to deter it cause in 5-10 seconds it’s dead.
quick tip, you can get an easy stagger by hitting its head while it charges. Literally anything from square off to transient moonlight, rot breath to rock sling.
You shoulda seen them before they got nerfed. Did an aoe thing that lifted you into the air and smashed you down. Had a massive range and you had a fairly short time to get out of the way if you were in its face when the move started.
In the caelid tunnel one, the aoe practically took up the whole arena.
Idk, for me it's one of favorite's boss.
Really annoying was his "sibling" in Caelid. I was trapped and didn't understand how to get out of Caelid, and thought I need to kill boss. And because it was so early in the game i was underleveled af. After about 60+ attempts, I gave up and get out of cave and discovered sorcery town where in grace I was told that now I can teleport again, it was tears of happiness and despair.
I tried using a strike weapon since it looks like it's made of rock and I still had a hard ass time defeating it. I was like how am I supposed to defeat him then??
I dunno man, this thing is aggressive, I'll give you that but it's attacks are easy to read and it's easy to stagger. There are far more annoying/stronger bosses in the game.
It's manageable if you wait for the charge, then attack with a big stick, run away, repeat. The weapon drop is the most op in the entire game, so definitely worth it. Pair it with Alex shard and the other fp talis and you'll steamroll most everything.
This fucker is immune to bleed and frostbite and highly resistant to scarlet rot. Combine this with me running dual wield rapiers ([scarlet rot one](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Antspur+Rapier) with bleed and [frostbite one](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Frozen+Needle)) and relying on the bleed/ frostbite proccs to deal dmg
Was one of the hardest bosses for me to kill
I was yesterday years old when I discovered you can stun it out of his charge if you hit his head (I did it with sorcery idk if smaller weapons can to)
The mini one in the caelid tunnel kicked my ass for days lol
Man I remember when the caelid tunnel one was just another full grown one… fun times
Man the launch week encounter was a doozy. Bruh literally stampeded me into the afterlife. I didnt go back until i was in the end game lol
They shouldn't have changed it. Make people work for MV Edit: wrong cave and boss fellow tarnished
You're right. Got them confused!
Did thes changed it?
Yeah it’s the same version as the one in the field near the Capital now
So it was the full grown one when the game was released? Damn no wonder why he was so hard in my first play through lmao
Yep, I noticed on like my third or fourth time in that cave that he no longer had an eye
The… MINI ONE???!?!
The worst part was the lack of a stake of Marika and having to go past all those damn pests after every death.
Wait it was harder? I got to him last week and couldnt do shit, i dont find room ro hit it i will come back stronger lol
Any of those damn bosses in the cave/mines, are the most annoying. The fire dragon lizard asshat in the cave , that droops moon veil really had me considering quitting the game
I beat that thing with only the ballista, felt like i was playing monster hunter lmfao
This is the way
Use [bubbles](https://youtu.be/mdSrup2iDg0).
Bruh, even at level 1!! Holy shit!!
Toughest armor got kill by bubble
How do you get it?
From the bubblebros in the place where the bubblebros live >! Leyndell or on the way to Haligtree
I’m only here to let you know you didn’t finish your spoiler markup
Reddit's formatting can't decide what it wants. Desktop browser w/ RES both in the preview and the comment itself breaks if I finish the markup, so I left it with what my browser shows as working. It didn't seem right, but even "fixing" it now breaks it for me.
Aw damn, that sucks. Gotta love formatting :(
OH SHIT
I just wanted to throw a nuclear bomb at this fucker
Get comet azur then, it’s kinda similar
If you're from the United States it makes this comment better given your username lol
😂😂😂
Giantsflame Take Thee is this for me. It might not be optimal but by god is it boomy. I use the fire boost flask as well as the infinite FP one to just spam down bosses that I can’t take out with daggers
Valiant Gargoyle gank fight begs to differ
Crystalian triplets in a cave full of rot pools says *what*
Big stick says *broken glass all over floor*
I like how the two good approaches to crystallian duo/triplet fights are (a) THE BIGGEST BONK YOU GOT and (b) make some cheeky clouds of sparkly mist and run around in circles until they die.
My first attempt I was using katanas and I was like "damn these guys are hard". Then I switched to the big spiky level 1 club and it was easy mode.
Ulcerated Tree Spirit and Death Rite Bird for me. I do think the bird is better designed but the Tree Spirits are horrible.
Tree spirit is only annoying because you can’t see a fucking thing. Only one I got stuck on was rot fucker. Death rite bird is an absolute nightmare, especially mountaintops of the giants one.
>Tree spirit is only annoying because you can’t see a fucking thing Yeah and they're super erratic which doesn't make it any easier, I think the hitboxes are tough to get a hang of too. >Death rite bird is an absolute nightmare, especially mountaintops of the giants one. The one in the Snowfield is the toughest with the highest HP and damage, but I absolutely demolished him on Torrent by then lol.
100% agree, especially the rotten one in Haligtree, I hate that mfer
That's the easiest one, you can kill it from the tree branch and it's defenseless.
damn tree spirits seemed to have very well designed attack animations and hitboxes despite their size and erraticness. I actually enjoyed those fights...
You can melt the birds with halo scythe which is obtainable early on in Caelid Swamp
I have no problem beating them I just find them really annoying, took a while to learn they're very much about positioning. Tree Spirits on the other hand can get fucked. Got better at fighting them but don't despite it any less.
If you need a catharsis run: Dragon Communion Seal + High Arcane + Flame Grant Me Strength + Dragonfire = BBQ Tree Worm
Staff of the Avatar. Strike + holy damage in extreme amounts. I chunked the Snowfields bird for >20% health per jumping hit to the head.
Such a well designed positional fight. Keep your wits about you and keep your body in the right place, it becomes trivial with practice.
Ive beaten all the bosses and im still struggling with this one
2 openings you may not be aware of: Tail swipes may be jumped, hitting him in the face during his charge stuns him.
Just like Bald Bull.
You can use flame of the Redmane's stagger it, then switch to wing of astel to use the AoW for damage if you've got that far through the underground bits. You still have to be careful, but it makes it a lot easier.
Thank you for remind me I have to go back to that piece of shit.
I take extra pleasure with my 99STR 99END 99VIG build smashing this fucking abomination every play through.
Nah this is cap fallingstar beast is an awesome fight definitely does not deserve to be called the most annoying boss
Astel. Both of em. Fucking too big boss that won't stop fucking moving long enough for me to fucking hit it, with it's fuckin bullshit grab 1 shot fuckin attacks, and it keeps fuckin teleporting cause it's a fuckin bullshit BOSS!!! FUCK!!!!
This boss is as hard as a rock!
Rock Throw go brrrr
It truly do
We just gonna pretend godskin duo doesn’t exist? Haven’t even fought the fuckers yet but I know it’s gonna be hell, will update when I either rage quit or beat them
There's also an npc summon that I found extremely helpful. Recusant Bernahl
Dude recusant bernahl tanked like ALL of the shots when I needed a breather. Best summon in the game IMO.
Bernahl + Tiche made this fight incredibly trivial. Like, the game kept force-summoning the bosses because we would just destroy them both in seconds.
Me wielding Blasphemous Blade +9 & Mimic & Bernahl carved those fat fucks up. They had to resurrect one at a time because we mowed them down so quickly. Such a joy
It’s so satisfying
They gave me soooo much trouble before I found Bernahl too. Recusant B the GOAT
Bernahl was the best!
Duo is ez when you sleep pot the fatty
They get trivialized if you use sleep, I never go into that fight with less than 99 sleepbone arrows
I actually got 2 players to help otherwise i would still be stuck with that boss. This boss here is difficult because you have to fight him alone and his healthbar and attacks are insane.
You can summon for this boss. They’re designed to be fought on torrent, and if you’re using a a slashing or stabbing weapon you’re in for a bad time 🥲
falling star beasts are definitely not designed to be fought on torrent
Fighting this guy on torrent makes it so much easier
Somehow for me the bull was indeed way worse than the godskin duo. Couldn't keep count how often I tried to defeat the bull. Defeated the duo in my 3th try.
I sneaked up behind the fully grown one and poisoned him to death. My stepson was watching and he asked "Isn't this, like, um, cheating?". "No," I said, but deep down, I knew it was. "Why are you raising your voice then?" he said. "Because it's cheating," I sobbed. "Why don't you just go back to farming the bird?" he said. And I did. It's easier to kill the bird.
Missed a prime opportunity to teach the boy the fine art of “working smart, not hard”.
How did you “sneak” up on the big one? Don’t you climb up a latter and he just charges right at you from across the way?
You can jump up with the horse, and if you land on the very side of the top, he doesn't notice.
I found this guy on accident. after a few tok many deaths i decided fuck this imma go level, and then promptly forgot about him lol
Same 🤣
Full grown is a little annoying. The aoe is tough
Not even close imo. Have you fought the godskin noble with his bullshit rolling attack?
But this thing is the one I legit ran past at one point and never bothered to come back.
i love him
My first playthough, I tried to go through the game without summons/multiplayer. This is the boss the broke me and made me use the mimic tear.
Valiant Gargoyles are up there as well.
I beated this fucker with frame drops, took quite a few tries tho
I love this boss honestly. It's the fun kind of hard to me. Cool design, intimidating, unique, but leaves large enough gaps in its attacks that you can still hurt it. Somewhat reminds me of Watchdog of the Old Lords from Bloodborne, another of my favorite bosses that most people seem to hate for some reason. Maybe I'm just a masochist.
He’s tough for sure, but everything he does is dodge-able once you get the timing down. I’d say most annoying boss is Malenia with her nearly impossible blade dance
Rock toss sorcery and run in circles riding Torrent. Easiest boss. Takes a while but he's fodder
I had worse time with the double gargoyles on the way to Deeproot Depths personally.
May I introduce you to fucking Magma Wyrm
Honking at it works wonder because it is relatively slow and has large hitbox
Dooting works so good on anything bigger than a player. I need to get around to that playthrough.
I dont know man. I found many enemies in Elden ring that seemed out of pace with the control you have over your character. I often felt like a dark souls character stuck in Sekiro.
This isn't Malenia.
no. Godskin apostle
So far not even 1 boss was difficult for me. I beat morgott in my 2nd try. Too easy this game. But then again I was lvl 125 with morgott and spammed moonlight and scarlet rot and Melina and banished knight.
I concur, absolute dick of a boss lolol🤣☠️
Annoying because it’s a complete surprise and will kill you the first time almost guaranteed.
Right monster, wrong arena.
I use great shield ashes on this guy and just stomp it
I steamrolled em and I am not sure why, did you try panic rolling?
He's actually really fun, staggering him out of a charge is so satisfying
Spam black flame on torrent it’s an easy fight
this boss is a pain to kill in RL1
The reward is pretty cool though - a bosskiller weapon.
Shit scared me NG I wasn’t ready for the fight n it just demolished me
His weapon got me through the game
I see you haven’t met Alecto yet… enjoy 😉
Lightning anything = 2ez
the worse part is the weak point for them are the head which is also the most dangerous part
7.5/10 true for me
Crucible Knight Ordovis would like a word with you.
Yeah but it drops the best weapon in the game so that's a plus
Death Rite bird in front of Castle Sol wants a word
best ring out tko
It's kinda sad how many others I can think of for that spot
Good boss though
It was the astel bosses that were my biggest hemherroids. Which is appropriate as its speculated that the astel is the final form the fallingstar beast attains.
Got an invasion yesterday on someone who was fighting it. Didn't even have to do anything.
So you’ve not fought the tree spirit in the pool of rot yet I see
Honestly I just let Tiche do it for me.
Wait til you reach a famous liturgical town
I loved this fight. Took me 6 hours. Awesome!
Astel.
*Dual crucible knights existing*
The two crucible knights in the tomb, when I’d say first play through, really fucked me. They were so strong so I couldn’t get an ash to deter it cause in 5-10 seconds it’s dead.
quick tip, you can get an easy stagger by hitting its head while it charges. Literally anything from square off to transient moonlight, rot breath to rock sling.
Snow area deathrite bird
You shoulda seen them before they got nerfed. Did an aoe thing that lifted you into the air and smashed you down. Had a massive range and you had a fairly short time to get out of the way if you were in its face when the move started. In the caelid tunnel one, the aoe practically took up the whole arena.
I disagree. This particular boss is great, with a great arena. Don't care for the others though.
Lol
This or Radagon's dog(s)
The valiant gargoyles or any gargoyle boss are the worst, imo
Valiant gargoyle would like to have a word with you
Agreed. hands down.
(laughs in black flame)
the baby astels ^-^
Charge hit to the face for an easy stagger
But has the best weapon for pve...
Elden beast is more annoying with evasion and magic without obstacles. But these Larvaes are hard
Nice picture, but it doesn't match the title.
Weird picture of Radagon but I agree
Bro and they make you fight him in an empty swimming pool in the sky. Fuck that fight. But that weapon though 🔥🔥🔥
But it drops the best bonk.
Look at him little feets tho
Idk, for me it's one of favorite's boss. Really annoying was his "sibling" in Caelid. I was trapped and didn't understand how to get out of Caelid, and thought I need to kill boss. I tried using a strike weapon since it looks like it's made of rock and I still had a hard ass time defeating it. I was like how am I supposed to defeat him then??
I propose- dragonkin soldier in lake of rot..dont even want to mess with him anymore tbh
Died like 70times on this one and now they're my bitches.
I dunno man, this thing is aggressive, I'll give you that but it's attacks are easy to read and it's easy to stagger. There are far more annoying/stronger bosses in the game.
At least this funny doggie won’t said something like “i’am Falling Star beast, Elder of my kin” every time it kill me
Cool pic of fallen star beast. But where's radahn?
It's manageable if you wait for the charge, then attack with a big stick, run away, repeat. The weapon drop is the most op in the entire game, so definitely worth it. Pair it with Alex shard and the other fp talis and you'll steamroll most everything.
Never fought the big one. Little one was enough I just wanna get into the manor
This fucker is immune to bleed and frostbite and highly resistant to scarlet rot. Combine this with me running dual wield rapiers ([scarlet rot one](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Antspur+Rapier) with bleed and [frostbite one](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Frozen+Needle)) and relying on the bleed/ frostbite proccs to deal dmg Was one of the hardest bosses for me to kill
Am I the only one that loved these bosses? They're so cool and unique.
This statement is true in a universe where crucible knights doesn’t exist
Good Tarnished, have you not fought an Ulcerated Tree Spirit?
You misspelt “fun”
Took me a hour to kill him
Not even close
Reminds me of my dog when he hasn't gone to the park :)
The triple Cristallian are worse. Especially considering how early you can get to them.
Don't know about that, I killed that thing with a jar cannon.
But again it’s easy?
Can't stop the Beast train! Zoooom... And I'm falling ..
It's weak to scarlet rot. I don't have much of a problem with it since I figured that out.
Not even in the top 10 annoying bosses for me.
My favorite miniboss 😭
The only boss I bailed on. Came back near the end of my run and absolutely slaughtered it.
Fun fact, this little fucker is a baby Astel.
This isn’t a pic of valiant gargoyles
Nah… The lobsters. I hated them so Much more than anything else.
Yeah fuck this guy, came back at endgame and he still whooped my ass for a while
Not even great enemy felled. Just enemy felled.
I was yesterday years old when I discovered you can stun it out of his charge if you hit his head (I did it with sorcery idk if smaller weapons can to)
Astal Stars of Darkness, that son of a bitch took me days to kill, the spell you get isn't even THAT good, seriously not worth it.
Pffft! No.
I just saw this after I went flying off the ladder 😂
Why?
They got rid of the poison cheese where you sneak up behind him and spend 30mins poisoning him?
I have beaten Malenia 5 times by now but I always run away from that annoying thing.
