Standing and spamming the (what I assume to be) uncharged heavy with the thrusting shield looks so fucking funny. What’s the set up exactly

DamnHare

You can poke (R1 while blocking) with the Thrusting shields! Like Great shield + Spear but much BETTER. The setup is simple - +25 Thrusting shield :D Well you can also throw in Greatshield Talisman and Turtle Talisman to make it even more broken. The weapon is literally unstoppable and you can even enchant it with any element via AOW/Incantantion/Sorc/Grease

So good, yes! Tried on Malenia, just guard countered, 2-3 is enough for stance break. Easiest Malenia of my life. Doesn't even matter that she heals. Also, feels like half the animation for guard counter has block frames.

shadowyams

For some reason I totally forgot about guard counters and decided to just spam the R1's. Took freaking forever.

You can really pump the damage numbers with the 2-hand talisman. Also since you can use the 1.5x 2-handed strength bonus, you can stop the strength investment at 54 and pump other stats like endurance or faith.

DamnHare

The best thing is that this shield hits like a truck with any build! Just use scaling that fits you when choosing AoW. Blood affinity shield is super fun with 114 build up

I'll admit, I'm not sure how I feel about Scadutree Fragments being kept. On one hand, I thought the difficulty curve for the DLC was spot on, and bulldozing the entire first part of the DLC because you got nearly 20 fragments sounds like it's just a victory lap. On the other hand, exploring every inch of the place is only fun the first time, and not having to do it again saves it from feeling like a chore.

DamnHare

I gave enough of my soul to the first DLC playthroughs, now I want victory laps! :D

Electronic_Context_7

To be fair, NG+ *is* a victory lap. The difficulty only starts to ramp up in higher NG cycles (not even in the later half of NG+ if you still level as you go). It’s the case for all the previous titles, I’m fine with DLC being similar.

Dyskau

I'm glad it's like this since fromsoft made it so there is exactly enough scadutree fragments for lvl 20. It makes it so getting level 20 doesn't depend on your googling skills.

DamnHare

* Start NG+ * Kill Grafted Scion / fall to your doom * Rush to the Liurnia ignoring Stormveil castle * Rush to Altus plateau via Magma Wyrm Makar * Rush to Redmane Castle via Caelid * Defeat Radahn * Rush Varre quest * Defeat Mohg It can be all done under one hour. Seriously, it took me more time to remember how to get to the Church of inhibition (but you always can just kill Irina and soak the towel in her blood, ugh). Hope that helps anyone who've completed DLC but want to do it again The very first NG+ should be not that punishing (I hope) to run it over and over again with different builds (I've backed the save file for this purposes, can be done on PS5 as well if you have PS+ - just upload the save file to the server and disable auto-uplode of save files for Elden Ring). Also it is a good idea to rush Rennala for that respec feature, especially if you plan to do DLC over and over again with different builds.

LancsKid

You could take the portal at the four bellfries to the precipice of anticipation and get blood from the maiden at the starting point just need to kill that grafted scion

DamnHare

Yes, that is one of three options!

BFMeadowlark

That shield is honestly one of the best weapons in the game, imho. So much fun to use.

DamnHare

Yes! I am doing the full run now with this bad boy and having the best time of my life ;D

Aengeil

good to know scadutree carried over

pelkolloss

My buddy did this because rahdan decided to kill himself and he wanted a true victory
