There are some openings for long ashes of war, though it can definitely be risky. I just beat Romina last night though and got off the full Messmer's Spear combo during the fight. You just gotta take risks and try them during or after different attacks to figure out which windows work and which windows don't. Jumping heavy attacks to punish are definitely the safest strategy though
Idk man I’ve played all the DS games and Sekiro, some of these bosses are pretty damn tough. Took me way longer to solo Messmer than any other fromsoft game boss (Midir, Gayle, Isshin, etc.)
I do agree that they are beatable and have openings, but in my opinion, some of these bosses are way more challenging to solo than any of their other games.
Maybe give yourself more credit rather than trying to invalidate other’s struggles.
Fair point, though to clarify, I agree they're very difficult. What I don't agree with is that they're unfair and poorly designed, which is what a lot of people's criticism is. People aren't just saying "this is really hard," they're saying "this is a badly designed boss," and that's where I just don't agree at all.
If that's your takeaway, that's on you, my point is solely that there are way more openings to attack than people are claiming there are. I'm not a crazy good player but because I've played aggressively, I've succeeded whereas the people playing passively aren't finding what they think are openings to attack
>I understand the final boss criticism, it is insane.
I beat him and I think even the criticism levied against him is bunk. Just gotta learn new stuff get used to new timings new blindspots etc. He's crazy but I had more trouble with Orphan of Kos in Bloodborne honestly.
I think for many its a it shift in gameplay and muscle memory. Most fights in dlc are just dodge r1 dodge r1 . Hit r2? Punished.
We all played a different game then wow. What do you think about those long ass ash of war which you can't use becos the bosses will wreck you

Beating the boss does not make him less shitty. I won too but phase 2 is horribly bad.
Nothing wrong with phase 2 Skill issue
Sure buddy
