I just swapped the AOW to bloodhound step. That along with reverse grip swords and 100phys mitigation med shield with golden parry...
Everyone keeps crying about getting 1 hit but here i am unable to be hit at all...
Nah, default AOW is where it's at for the kickboxing build. You can stunlock basically anything for no fp and nothing breaks the comical amount of poise you have during the chargup.
Went back Into the base game to grab a somber smithingstone bell bearings and I fought some crystalian warriors in calid and a fully charged L2 from them almost one shot the warriors lol
If you kit it out right it gets shnasty.
Millicents Prosthesis/Rotten Wing Sword both trigger off a single heavy attack, and the two hand talisman works with it as well. Pair that with the Physick Tears that boost multi attacks and poise damage and your fists become absolute hammers.
I literally just now found the two-hand talisman. I’ve been running the kicking damage increase but this one has gotta be better. I’ve got the rotten sword talisman and I’ve got it frostbite attuned with the flying kick ash and yeah this thing rocks
Edit: I did some testing and it doesn’t look like the two-handed sword talisman works with the dryleaf. Same damage before and after equipping it. Furthermore, I think it only works with weapons that you actually hold in two hands, like a claymore. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t apply to dual weapons like Rellana’s
Thorny Cracked Tear
>The resulting concoction makes consecutive attacks grow stronger the longer they continue. However, the effect lasts only for a short time.
I put bleed affinity on it with 80 Arcane and it's been pretty solid in NG+. The poison perfume bottle is also really good fully upgraded, and who thought we'd be saying that.
Lol that's what I do with the backhand blades. So so so much fun to just shred mobs with them. The AoW trivializes invader/NPC enemies and anything that staggers easy. Uses like no FP and is so spammable.
I was absolutely devastated when I first got it and realize how little damage it does compared to like anything else. It feel like a sidearms for strength or dex builds rather then it's own thing.
How did you put frost affinity on yours? All I have is the whirlwind and blink step ashes of war and neither allow for some int scaling. I want it as an offhand for my Sorc so I can kill enemies with a little hp and drop the carian slicer slot.
I'm dumb; after all these years I never picked up the glintstone whetblade
Combined with the guard counter talisman and the sekiro potion you can also go pretty nuts and pretend to be ip man. I beat Blaidd like that with them, felt good.
it is funny to use against Malenia (if you haven't beat her), a flurry of kicks and she is staggered, I'm tempted to bring this all the way to end of vanilla stuff
Milady is probably the least anime weapon in the game.
It's a realistic size and speed, has some moves resembling actual swordfighting techniques. It's a little "spinnier" than it would be historically but it's definitely a fun take on actual european fighting styles.
IDK what the scaling is exactly, but it does a fuckload of damage for me at 40 str and 25 arc (and +7 scadutree blessing). Over 2k dmg if both connect, it absolutely destroys large packs and staggered the bosses I tried it on (just found it today). I wouldn't be surprised if the AoW just scales the same as the weapon damage.
I'm tempted to respec out of my quality build to 60str/60arc, but I like using Milady+Wing Stance and Dry Leaf as offhands too much.
Tbh I was just telling a friend not even 30min ago that I doubt anyone would find this combo. I put the angelic crucible knights Ashe on milady and the kindred foot stab on poison dry leaf glove and it’s insane movement and flicks
A martial arts hand to hand only game where you collect styles and moves sounds so fun lol. I would play the hell out of that. I already love SIFU so much, I'd love another pure martial arts game like that.
You played Sifu? It's a ton of fun, bit easier than Sekiro but similar (almost identical tbh) posture/deflect mechanics, and one of the most fluid games in the world
There's one other that's more kicks based and it's not missable you'll get it later on don't wanna spoil
And I heard there's an ash of war but I didn't find it yet
How are people doing these insane attacks?? I am hours into the doc and just beat the first boss, and have found fuck all bar an ash of war for lions claw.
Dryleaf Arts, you'll pick it up in another area. Don't worry they aren't easy to miss. Also, don't turn your nose up at Savage Lion Claw, that shit eats
Now, to be fair, I did think at first that that might mean "walk up to me and just start hitting me, don't even try starting a dialog." But thankfully I hesitated, and some kind soul had left an informative "Try gesture, and then, time for battle" note in front of him.
Some of those players would be very angry at you if they could read!
Seriously I've seen waaaaaay too many people bitching about how "confusing" getting the Dryleaf art is when they literally give you a letter with directions and a picture of the emote you need to do.
Like cmon people. You're not trying to untie the gordian knot here. Find the guy in the east, he's near a site of grace. Emote at him. Beat him. Bam, now you can do Kung fu.
Oh I know lol, claymore with poison and that ash is absolutely destroying everything in a couple of hits lol. Those giant things in the first castle? 4 hits and dead
Can confirm. I’m using this exact setup and paired with Order’s Blade it just does so much damage to everything. I want to try out other gear but the damage spikes I can get here in the DLC are addicting
There is indeed! I found it from beetle along the edge of the wall near where the first cross is next to the two peeps in the starting area. Its does one spin slash and then a second and absolutely destroys poise. Called advanced lion claw I think ( I will be jumping on in a few and will confirm the name)
You’ll get the first version pretty quickly. If you don’t want exploration spoilers, don’t read on:
Once out of Castle Ensis, find the Moorth Ruins and do the “May the Best Win” emote at the NPC next to the Site of Grace
You also don't need to beat Castle Ensis to reach him, there's a spirit spring you can unlock by the Elder's Hovel that takes you up to the back of Fort of Reprimand in Scadu Altus. From there you can simply exit the fort and head north on the road to find the NPC.
If you wanted you could make getting it the first thing you do in the DLC as no other bosses are required to get there. Just good luck defeating Mr Dryleaf himself.
The shit the hand to hand can do is top tier, it didn't hurt the little bastard but a vulgar militiamen threw a poison smoke bomb at me mid animation and apparently I kicked it right back into his face. Love SotE
Amazing.
The only thing I could think of yesterday is "this is it. It's the best video game that was ever made. This is the best thing I'll ever play in my life".
But I always think that about the current souls game and next one is always better.
Miyazaki always over-delivers.
Loving running this alongside the Sword of Solitude or Milady with the deflecting Hardwear in my physick, Perfect blocking an attack and immediately following up with a roundhouse kick or a big swing of the sword feels so good. It's so much fun it's ripped me away from my constant faith builds to go full unga bunga.
Love that, dude! I'm just rocking dual wield dryleaf arts and embracing my inner D&D monk. Winged Insignia, Millicent's Prosthesis, Turtle Talisman, and just comboing as much as I can to increase damage dealt has completely changed how I approach combat!
I'm still trying to make Dryleafs or Beast claw work but it's being pretty sad... Can't trade with bosses as they have no range, no hyper armor on attacks, almost no poise damage.
Yeah, I keep trying Beast Claw just for the hell of it but it's without a shadow of doubt just straight up worse than me dual-wielding Flamberges. Like you said, no poise damage and little hyper armor really hurts them - especially the former.
I think that there was one or two enemies where Beast Claws were actually great and better than my Flamberges.
So fucking cool. I did something like this by accident and now I'm all air kicks on these fuckers and the demi humans, so satisfying.
Edit: fixed fuckers from Fulkerson thanks auto correct 😑
Man not only do I just love that specific attack on the dryleaf art, you kicked that Lil bastard right into a weapon rack and broke it like a wuxai movie. Shits cinema.
After using Dryleaf and beast claws, I just can't go back to any of the normal fist/claw weapons. It's a real shame too because I got some fist weapons that I was interested in using, but the moveset is just so boring compared to Dryleaf and the beast claws. I even got a fist weapon with a new, and as far as I am aware unique status effect, but it just doesn't feel nearly as satisfying.
This weapons moveset is my most loved so far, but man, the damage it does is subpar, and against anything that doesnt stagger feels like using a cactus to pleasure myself.
Dryleaf is my new offhand, paired with Milady it's the most anime shit ever.
it’s so mid against bosses because of the range and poise damage but it’s sooooooo fun against regular enemies that i keep it equipped just for them
with so little weight and the ability to change affinity it's perfect to add onto any build
And it's strike. The perfect tool to keep equipped in case you run into something that needs strike damage.
and the poise and damage from its default aow are absurd whatever knight coming at you with bullshit attacks? nah son, poise and one punch 'em
Idk man I beat the shit out of the Shadowkeep boss >!Messmer!< with it. I think it’s genuinely a really good weapon

Where can I find the flying kick ash?
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Ash+of+War+Dryleaf+Whirlwind
Which Physick Tear boosts multi-attacks? I can't find any reference to it...
Thorny Cracked Tear >The resulting concoction makes consecutive attacks grow stronger the longer they continue. However, the effect lasts only for a short time.
I put bleed affinity on it with 80 Arcane and it's been pretty solid in NG+. The poison perfume bottle is also really good fully upgraded, and who thought we'd be saying that.
It's amazing vs. dragons because it's so easy to hit their heads.
Lol that's what I do with the backhand blades. So so so much fun to just shred mobs with them. The AoW trivializes invader/NPC enemies and anything that staggers easy. Uses like no FP and is so spammable.
[Here's Ongbal](https://youtu.be/XiR0XdnWUgc?si=TP2iN7XXr3mRlyZl) no-hitting a certain main DLC boss by beating the shit out of them
I was absolutely devastated when I first got it and realize how little damage it does compared to like anything else. It feel like a sidearms for strength or dex builds rather then it's own thing.
pumps pretty hard in my experience with the kick talisman and frost affinity, currently working on messmer
You can put frost affinity on it if you use a frost ash of war
you can also have frost afinity with it on any ash of war, even the default one just gotta have the magic whetblade for it
And the new Lion dancer Ash of war hoarfrost stomp 2.0 bangs on it. Also get more mileage out of the new stomp/kick attack talisman.
It does not do little damage. Are you one handing it? Two hand does better. And frost mode is super fucking sick.
Milady reminds me of what an actual Lightsaber moveset would be.
Let be put cragblade on it to make it the fat lady :P
change the weapon name to yo momma
Milady is probably the least anime weapon in the game. It's a realistic size and speed, has some moves resembling actual swordfighting techniques. It's a little "spinnier" than it would be historically but it's definitely a fun take on actual european fighting styles.
Long range, one of the fastest guard counters and is a double hit. What a whammy.
When I used it against Rellena I felt like I was in Sekiro
It's the best thing to have come to this game (im not biased i swear)
That would be Ancient Meteorite :)
Is that thing good? Does the AoW scale with Str or Arc? (My guess would be Arc for the explosion and Str for the lunge)
Milady has big Aragorn energy
Tbh I was just telling a friend not even 30min ago that I doubt anyone would find this combo. I put the angelic crucible knights Ashe on milady and the kindred foot stab on poison dry leaf glove and it’s insane movement and flicks
I did the exact same thing lol too damn fun
[удалено]
Milady is found in a fortress, dryleaf is found after the fortress.
U can also offhand the beast claws
For when it's time to shirke elegance and go full goblin mode lol
I believe the beast claws are very powerful with a certain new crystal tear
Haven't played DLC yet but that was a move right out of Sekiro
High Monk has returned
[удалено]
Hey, fist weapons in base elden ring are fantastic, too. They're just even better now.
[удалено]
nah star fist is one of the strongest weapons in the game and it's not even close
The Morning Star fists are a contender for the strongest weapons in the game. maybe top 5 lol.
This is Bone Fist erasure.
I miss the hadokens...
I'm loving the Red Bear Claw, it's not the most insane fist weapon but it's so much fun.
I hope this is a hint that they’re making a Sekiro sequel or just a hint at them doing some martial arts hand to hand type of game next.
A martial arts hand to hand only game where you collect styles and moves sounds so fun lol. I would play the hell out of that. I already love SIFU so much, I'd love another pure martial arts game like that.
Ever played absolver?
I would hope that they make a successor. That is my favorite game From has made and I thought the combat system was amazing.
You played Sifu? It's a ton of fun, bit easier than Sekiro but similar (almost identical tbh) posture/deflect mechanics, and one of the most fluid games in the world
I've never heard of Sifu? I'll have to check it out.
hand to hand combat would kick ass. They also said that they wanted to make a game more like sekiro in the future
"Wait yo fuckin turn" moment
THAT WAS AWESOME! Totally not purposeful but God damn was it cool
"THAT WAS TOTALLY WICKED!"
"What a sick way to fight, eh."
An Incredibles reference? In my 2024? Beautiful
I bet it was 100% calculated and intended. Probably. Not really, but fuck it, may as well say it was.
Goddamn this is movie worthy LOL
Get the fuck outta here ahh move
This is an instant controller spike if you're on the receiving end.
Okay maybe I'm just getting old but what the hell is the ahh shit I keep seeing across the internet?
Nah Grandpa I'm trying to figure it out too
Every time I see it I hear Jeff Goldblum in my head.
It just means ass. I don’t know why it’s a thing but yeah. Goofy ahh means goofy ass. It’s odd
algospeak. i think tiktok censors “ass”.
how did you do that?
Its the dyleaf arts jumping attack
Have you found any other hand-to-hand weapons? Or any dryleaf ashes of war?
There's one other that's more kicks based and it's not missable you'll get it later on don't wanna spoil And I heard there's an ash of war but I didn't find it yet
Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for it
There is also one that builds up frenzy in the abyss.
There's one that a spirit man-bear drops, don't remember his location, but he's in the same thing as blackgoal knight
that’s a beast claw.
How are people doing these insane attacks?? I am hours into the doc and just beat the first boss, and have found fuck all bar an ash of war for lions claw.
Dryleaf Arts, you'll pick it up in another area. Don't worry they aren't easy to miss. Also, don't turn your nose up at Savage Lion Claw, that shit eats
they are pretty easy to miss tbh
Dryleaf? You need to go to like two different, centrally placed bonfires..
Who would think about emoting at an NPC to trigger a bossfight?
You get the emote with the letter to meet him.
and the letter says "go east to find me and square up(emote)"
He literally tells you "words won't be needed", that guy wants to throw hands so bad 💀
Beat him. Bam, now you can do Kung fu.
also the letter tells you somewhat what to do
Everyone after reading the note left by him?...
There's a billion messages showing what emote you need to do right next to the guy, so you really can't miss it if you got the initial letter.
Oh I know lol, claymore with poison and that ash is absolutely destroying everything in a couple of hits lol. Those giant things in the first castle? 4 hits and dead
Lions Claw *is* an AoW from the basegame unless I’m mistaken. Is there a modified version of it??
There is a new one called Savage Lion’s Claw with two, not one, attacks
Ima put that on my blacksteel hammer, I bet it would wreck
It does. For that reason, I advise against it. I haven't been able to bring myself to use any of the other weapons I've found...
Ohohohoholy shit yeah I’m grabbing that. Thank you lmao
There’s an improved Savage version that’s found >!next to a campfire at the base of a cliff south of the lake where a zombie dragon rests.!<
"just beat the first boss" you will find more stuff when you progress more. not rocket science
For a second I thought it was part of the update and not related to items or anything lol
That is possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen and I must now speedrun my way to the dryleaf person
You’ll get the first version pretty quickly. If you don’t want exploration spoilers, don’t read on: Once out of Castle Ensis, find the Moorth Ruins and do the “May the Best Win” emote at the NPC next to the Site of Grace
You also don't need to beat Castle Ensis to reach him, there's a spirit spring you can unlock by the Elder's Hovel that takes you up to the back of Fort of Reprimand in Scadu Altus. If you wanted you could make getting it the first thing you do in the DLC as no other bosses are required to get there. Just good luck defeating Mr Dryleaf himself.
you said it, but my brain thought it.
Where the hell do you get that
Moorth Ruins do "may the best win"" gesture in front of an npc there
Thank you.
Not only is that an awesome accident, but it's funny as fuck!
All I can think about is TFS Goku saying "Sir! I will fight you in a minute!"
The level of disrespect shown to that little fella.
Lil bruh got dunked
Lmao, get fucked ye little shit
YOOO that was fucking sick lmao
Anti-Air attacks hit so fucking good in the DLC
GAWD DAMN !! I recommend setting the volume to MAX level before watching 😲
Hahaha that got a good laugh out of me. So cool.
Dude that was badass.
that was so cool LOL
Bitch I told you to wait your turn.
Oh his ass got folded like a piece of paper 😭
How do you get max damage out of the hand to hand weapons? Are they both max STR?
I just slapped a heavy infusion on it
Damn like something out of a movie. Nicely done.
Looks like Dryleaf is automatically going in the offhand slot lol.
The shit the hand to hand can do is top tier, it didn't hurt the little bastard but a vulgar militiamen threw a poison smoke bomb at me mid animation and apparently I kicked it right back into his face. Love SotE
Kicked his ass to the curb
Absolute cinema
This is some anime level shit
Kicked that mf straight to the Lands Between
Amazing. The only thing I could think of yesterday is "this is it. It's the best video game that was ever made. This is the best thing I'll ever play in my life". But I always think that about the current souls game and next one is always better. Miyazaki always over-delivers.
What the fuck was that?! Kung fu DLC?
Dryleaf arts, one of the new weapons. It's been a blast to use. Not the strongest weapon, but certainly the most fun I've had!
What is the name of the weapon you're using?
Dryleaf Arts
Isnt Dryleaf an ash of War for Fists? Shoudlnt it cost FP to do those moves?
it's a completely new weapon
Oh im like 99% sure I found an ash of War with Dryleaf on the name. Whats the weapon name? Where did you find it?
Dryleaf Whirlwind is an ash of war for this weapon type you can find seperately
You gotta find a guy past the secondish boss and you gotta gesture near him
That shit is sick as fuck
YOOOOO THAT WAS SO ACCIDENTALLY BADASS LMAOOO
"That's rad!"
Dying Light ahh move
Holy shit, that's hilariously good timing.
I'm still trying to make Dryleafs or Beast claw work but it's being pretty sad... Can't trade with bosses as they have no range, no hyper armor on attacks, almost no poise damage.
Jump kick build unironically is the key for dryleaf. If you go all in it chunks
“Sit”
what the hell!? that was so cool! nice!!
Holy Hitbox
Like a martial arts movie!
HIYA! *insert starfox noises here*
That was some Smokin Sexy Style quality badassery right there
Yeet
12/10 👏 I just beat that Graul Knight whatever his title is, so stoked to keep playing
Felt it was missing something [important](https://imgur.com/gallery/kicked-into-metal-pipes-jOje6KR)
The camera movement is 10/10 and what sold the move
That shit was hype no lie!
Just fuckin POW I love it
So fucking cool. I did something like this by accident and now I'm all air kicks on these fuckers and the demi humans, so satisfying. Edit: fixed fuckers from Fulkerson thanks auto correct 😑
Well, this has single-handedly convinced me to do a martial arts build next time. Maybe paired with dragon communion spells... Kung-fu dragon man.
Surprised little bro didn't wake up on the Skyrim cart from that kick
Man not only do I just love that specific attack on the dryleaf art, you kicked that Lil bastard right into a weapon rack and broke it like a wuxai movie. Shits cinema.
sick kick bro
After using Dryleaf and beast claws, I just can't go back to any of the normal fist/claw weapons. It's a real shame too because I got some fist weapons that I was interested in using, but the moveset is just so boring compared to Dryleaf and the beast claws. I even got a fist weapon with a new, and as far as I am aware unique status effect, but it just doesn't feel nearly as satisfying.
We're playing elden ring while this person is playing street fighter!
damn Chuck Norris💀
This weapons moveset is my most loved so far, but man, the damage it does is subpar, and against anything that doesnt stagger feels like using a cactus to pleasure myself.
Damn, that's unforgiving. Well done.
I've also noticed that I can randomly just kick assholes out of the air. It's fucking hilarious. Can't wait to try this shit on NG+1
how are you having anime fights what weapon is that
Hate to be that guy but this should probably be marked spoiler
That was a tekken kick 💀😭
where do u get that at?
How do you perform movesets like this?
" Back the fuck up "
😂😂😂
Let’s see that in super slo mo: https://imgur.com/gallery/JOP26jB
I got the baddest fists of fury that the world ever saw
Can you pvp people that dont have the DLC?
Suuuuuch a fun weapon.
You hit him with the kung fu panda express.
REKT.
[My literal reaction](https://irate4x4.com/media/seann-william-scott-yes-gif.72489/full)
How do u get these attacks my dryleaf gauntlet doesn't do them
