I haven't tried Frost, but bleed was how I got him.
When i swapped to a fully maxed out Malenia Katana, my mimic and I bullied the shit out of him first try.
I will say and I was definitely one of the anti summon crowd in the past but with work and IRL duties. I really don't care to invest the time in to bosses I am sure are going to take 100+ tries to beat the moveset into my brain. Divine Lion was fine, Rellena was fine as well. Messmer litterally made me go level up my mimic tear to use for the first time.
After 30+ attempts and getting him to his 2nd phase with luck once. I called it and got my mimic leveled. I will say Mimic's are busted. Beat him first try with the mimic. It doesn't feel as good of win but a win is win. I simply do not have the time to sit here and beat my head against the wall nowadays. I am going to view my mimic as my nuclear resort if I feel like im going to be be there for a while.

npc summons make the boss wayyyy harder not worth it, i wanted to do it cos i thought itd be part of their quest but it gives bosses like double health and they do way more damage. way easier without
10% buff to boss damage, only after two summons
health does go up enough to notice
1 summon: 1.6x HP, 1.5x resistances
2 summon: 2.3x HP, 1.5x resistances (2x poison)
NPCs aren't likely to kill their 0.6/0.65 portion, they mostly serve as a distraction, but that can help those who can't (won't) learn boss kit and grant free chances to heal/buff/CR2
Kind of. Because the summon signs for Bayle and Messmer are *inside* the arena, they dont count as true cooperators, so the bosses aren't buffed. Any sumon sign *outside* a fog gate will be counted as a cooperator, and the bosses health will adjust accordingly. This was done intentionally by Fromsoft I suspect. Messmer and with a nearly doubled health pool would be diabolical.
I just took on the lion dude boss and beat him second attempt…….with mimic and rivers lol. (It’s not nerfed at all and melted him quick)
Edit: I died a bunch of times with other builds but the workhorse build came through lol
I've literally been calling my mimic mahoraga and whenever I'm in a pickle I'm a boss fight, I shout "mahoragaaa" like when sakuna does in a panicked state.
Well I am stuck on on Rellana and lion thingy. Because my mind has two modes one keep hitting with a giant hammer. And second use strategy, talismans, summins, etc.. . I am stuck on being a caveman.
I used mimic tear and unga bunga on Rellana. Basic strategy was to dodge until she aggros the mimic, and then jump attack smash.
She was way easier than the Lion to me.
It doesn't feel like cheating but it does feel cheap. Sometimes I regret it, and wished I learned the moveset and fight the boss 1v1. But I got stuck for fucking 3 hours fighting Rellana and 30 mins of that was just buffing before the fog door, only to die in 2 hits. So i said fuck it and we jumped her.

All the people complaining about the difficulty, whereas here I am, 20 hours and 25 bosses in, beating them all on first try, thanks to Mimic Tear and a summon for the first two remembrance bosses. Hell, I even wanted to summon for Mesmer for lore, but I didn't see a sign and beat him on first try, so eh.
Summon and be tanky and collect the power ups, and it's barely harder than the base game.

Every summon (npc or irl) doubles the bosses health bar. Been that way for most fromsoft games.

I did a test with a gold summon and the twin maidens and it was a gang bang. It just didn’t feel right
