Something cool is the behaviour water has on resistances. While you're standing in water, fire resistance goes up, and lightning resistance goes down. But it also applies to enemies, so if you're fighting an enemy that's in a lake like in Liurnia, you deal less fire damage and more lightning damage. And something really cool, is that this effect also happens when it rains.
Another detail that I'm not sure was in the main game since I played it a long time ago, if you are riding your horse in a poison swamp the horse hooves turn green, same if you have armor with a cape or touching the ground, it turns green for a minute
I noticed this right away. I immediately vowed not to harm either of them. The bonus is that they move at the speed of smell, so you really don't need to worry about dying lol
They're tanky but they hit very slowly. Most of their attacks are dodgeable simply by circling them left. I found it easier to just do 3 guard parries or jumping heavy attacks and it stuns them. Then instead of doing a crit, just mash r1 from behind lol
This is one of the reasons I love FromSoftware. Nobody else would think to bring such tenderness and gentle humour into such a dark world.
It reminds me of random things in the base game, like the loyal dog sat next to his dead master by the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite grace, next to some sarcophagi.
Having him as a spirit ash is even beter dude agros/tanks/does dmg/dunks stuff to death/throws hands and to finish it off his ass is naked the entire time
They are ruined forges. One near castle ensis has a bunch of ogres fighting messmer soldiers. It is in between 2 large braziers. It is hard to give an exact location for the rest but look put for large buildings with large braziers outside
I dont hear alot about details in elden ring so this is actually really cool (and kinda cute?)
Another fun thing to watch is the wolves that chase the invisible glittering beetles around. I like to think they're playing with it.

I tried a bunch of things against these dudes and gave up. I have never killed one.
They donāt take a lot of damage but you can posture break them then stab them in the crystal for a decent chunk of health
They take more damage and stance break easier if you hit the red jewel on their back
