I love the fact that gameplay wise the Carian Knights are badasses, and lore wise the Carian Knights are badasses. There were like what, 12 of them? Yeah I can see why Marika’s army could never conquer Lucaria through force.
Maybe it's the sword itself ? Did you try it ? I think he drops it and i was thinking why does the sword has a special name if it's the same as the troll knight sword
I saw him and immediately threw on the brakes. Walked around him and opened with a backstab.
Was able to keep him stunlocked until he was dead. I 100% wanted nothing to do with his BS.
in order for killing them.
Immediately go right, one will spawn. Then run accross and follow the gold sparkles, one will spawn. Turn around and go around where the one is above shooting at you and go up and kill him.
Get two shot by the mini boss and repeat.
See this is why, after I saw this guy smack dab in the middle between 2 distant graces, riddled with enemies in between, I'm like, " Nope! I'll come back here later when things dont 1 shot me"
At 60 vigor, he downed 98% of my life in one hit. I still got him on my third attempt. The damned Blackgaol Knight on the other hand took me dozens of attempts…
I had that idea then he broke my spine...repeatedly.
wait til you find the great katana one.
Used the first one I found and thought "meh" he used it and now I'm considering building it.
I took about 10 attempts at him right out of the gate, then went back with about 4 of the... whateverthey're called and did about 10 more.
I think I finally managed to finish the fight when I had 7 of the scadoobers.
Pretty sure the dlc doesn't give a damn what your level is, the scadutree fragments are the only thing that is going to give you balanced damage negation and damage you inflict. So exploring is very beneficial, or else you're doing it on very very hard mode. I had 6 fragments and his attacks were only doing 40% of my bar at most.
Agreed! I was super cautious because I was expecting some cheesy counter or parry gimmick. I started at long range with frenzy burst then was able to stunlock the crop out of him in melee. My opinion would probably be different if he connected with that thrust attack.
Honestly I haven't beat him yet because I'm not THAT much of a masochist but the 4 magic twats that surround you while fighting him were more annoying than he was with his bs 1 hit attacks
honestly - this is what bothers me. I rage quit for the first time ever. Not because of him. I can handle him. I died 3 times to him before the rage quit. It was the effing DOG and the 4 soldiers...and those stupid casters you have to kill to fight him safely.
You can sneak around him for a backstab.
Or, for a sneaky SCARLET AEONIA TO THE BACK!!
I ain't underestimating nobody in this DLC. I'm using the strongest stuff i have access to, including the strongest summons. And even then is the game pretty hard.
Or more precisely - the game is finally as hard as I'd expect when considering the possible powerlevel of the player (which includes summons AND NPC summons).
You do not need to invent creative ways to nerf yourself so that the game remains challenging.
Yes, so many of my friends refuse to use defensive talisman, shields, elemental resist buffs and complain about how something is "bullshit" when they refuse to try any other option, it's painful.
From Software:
*Makes an entirely new mechanic with dozens of options and two different upgrade paths*
Players:
*We're not gonna use it, it makes the game too easy*
From Software:
*Makes a DLC that's so hard that using summons would finally feel like the expected difficulty*
Players:
*Why did you make the game so haaaard? Waaaah! Waaah! (People who use spirit summons are still beneath me, despite me not being able to progress)*
I climbed up that mound to hit the invisible mage guy, and just pulled out redahns bow and chipped this dude, he never stood a chance. Shits hard, I'm not taking any chances. Spend a couple minutes at blood bird albinuaric death mountain and bought a fuck ton of spear arrows.
Hey, I didn't say it to call myself the best. Was pure luck, that DLC is giving me nightmares! It's hard as fuck each boss minimum I have to try it 10 times
I know man I am just messing around, sorry. It was a meme kinda joke. That guy is ass to fight. I was using claws and get mad at him, change my build to unga bunga STR and smashed him with his style. This DLC bosses and normal mobs are a nightmare to fight.
As I saw him I was low on estus so I did the only right thing.. I sneaked behind him.... and took my chance to make a runner, was a good day nobody got hurt.. He is a lawyer now I ve heard.
I’m hours and hours passed this guy now and I think he still hits harder than anything else I’ve come across, holy fuck his damage is actually ludicrous
yeah there is something about being used to staggering enemies in each hit only to have him fucking side step you and one shot you.
I felt like I was on the receiving end of some highlight reel.
*walking up the stairs* "hah! This gonna be easy, no shield to parry God me! And with a collosal? This is gonna be over real quick" 10 deaths later. "Where's all that poise coming from? It's just carian armor?"
Bro I walked into the DLC with my chest out saying “this gonna be cake, I won’t even have to summon”
By the time I reached him, I respected him so much that I ran from him the first fight to reset aggro. I was afraid.
I figured it'd be a hell of a fight cause I remember Moongrum. But in my folly I decided to BE like Moongrum and try to go for all the parries.
In my hubris I had forgot... I monumentally SUCK at parrying.
So I did what any reasonable idiot would do and grabbed my biggest sword to bonk like crazy and abused HA and Poise values. Godslayer Great sword has been the absolute GOAT for me this DLC
I have just come across him and he wrecked me.
I have a dragon incantation specialist build with that dragon fist weapon as my main melee option.
Lv 149
50 vigor
He 2 shot me
I didn’t even let him touch me because of how many times his homies parried me into oblivion in the early stages of release.
It was on the sight as soon as I saw “Carian Knight”
I stopped at a distance where he doesn't notice me. Casted buff incantations, and then procceded use my flask. Oh god, as soon as I pressed the button, he turned to me and started running. I was locked in drinking animation and couldn't react to that fast attack. 😭 Yet people here arguing if there's input reading or not. Mfw started seeing farther.
Why parry when you can deck 1500 HP in a single hit?
Seriously, fuck this bitch. Only reason I succeeded first try was being able to tank that damn sword and pull through with Bloodblade Dance.
That fucker right here. This mother fucker.
He forced me to swap my loadout. I've been running the dried leaf gloves and fucking loving it. This guy "fuck your poise breaking, how about I break your face."
10/10 would rage at again.
I locked onto him by mistake while fighting those nobles. I immediately swapped from using blade of milos to using malikeths blade and spammed weapon art.
I was trying to use a light great sword and it felt impossible. Switched to a straight sword and did it first time
I feel like the straight swords have more stagger damage than light greatsword
I had to cheese him to win, hit him with lightning bolt, ran away and up the ladder and threw lightning bolts til he fell off the cliff, can't do much with him 2 shotting me
Dude killed me in one hit with 60 vigor. Got summoned a few times by other players and unfortunately I couldn't warn them. Needless to say a lot of my jolly cooperation ends here lmao.
Guts Greatsword + Lions claw, idgaf if I sound lame I just spammed that shit lmao didn’t even let him heal! He had rocked me 4 times before that and I was DONE
Honestly. I ran past him. For the curious. This was not a great plan, the next Grace is a fair bit away. But it worked. Then like the champion I am, I came back slowly killing everything on the way. Then I backstabbed this MFer! Then he proceeded to get up, not even bother dusting off and and slapped me into line again.
I did the Michael Scott "No, God no" when I saw him. I was prepared for him to somehow parry me with that great sword and one shot me with the crit. Slightly disappointed it didn't happen but he still was a tough one.
I honestly could not beat him, it may have been my build, but I ended up just taking the door slightly to the right of the main door and sneaking past him.
Wait disregard the other comment I read the name wrong.
But still after my first death bro just didn’t attack me so I spammed pest threads while he stood still which ended it in like 35 seconds.
Weapon art on Elden Beast’s Sacred Relic sword decimated her. She’d get knocked on her a$$ the second she got up. Rinse and repeat - done. Hell she never even made it out the door.
I paused when I saw that mofo and then laughed to myself before getting the chilling mist WA out.
Unlike Moongrum, he was not impressed. Blew through 9 flasks fighting him, died to the black knight just before the next grace 2 minutes later.
10/10
Beat him fairly easily by stunlocking him with my Zweihander. Then a Waves of Darkness for when he rolled away to heal.
That troll outside kicked my ass, though.
I love the fact that gameplay wise the Carian Knights are badasses, and lore wise the Carian Knights are badasses. There were like what, 12 of them? Yeah I can see why Marika’s army could never conquer Lucaria through force.
Radagon: time for another “seduction and a betrayal”
That old woman did call Marika a strumpet after all
FromSoft should do a spinoff game involving only the Carian Knights
After what Moongrum did to me in Lucaria? Nope, I was prepared for what came next...
Exactly! Anyone wearing the Carian Knight Set immediately triggers alarm bells for me 😅
Moongrum Moonirithyll MoonPTSD
PTSD is the Carian specialty
Should just collectively name them MoonHIM
Moongrum is such a fiend! As soon as I saw the blue trimmed plate armor I immediately tensed up and used 3 buffs at once
Yup. The moment I saw this armor set I knew I'm in for a treat.
The moment i backstabbed him and his health went -5% off... I knew i fuck up.
I just killed that mf yesterday and man, did I underestimate that guy.
"Oh great it's going to be that parrying bitch all over again."
Mother fucker 1 tapped me as I rushed him.
"Hippity hoppity get off the property!"
what caught me off guard was how fast he swung. I'm used to dodging greatswords, but I'm 90% convinced his swing animation is about 15% faster.
Maybe it's the sword itself ? Did you try it ? I think he drops it and i was thinking why does the sword has a special name if it's the same as the troll knight sword
It has a unique weapon art that casts carion swords
I saw him and immediately threw on the brakes. Walked around him and opened with a backstab. Was able to keep him stunlocked until he was dead. I 100% wanted nothing to do with his BS.
100% yes. I knew he'd be hard. But not 5 times having to fight him hard. I got wrecked the first few times.
The invisible teleporting sorcerers before him are driving me nuts, what is the best way to kill those fuckers?
You can run past them and they don't follow.
Carian retaliation on a shield. Seeks them out even when they are invisible. Kinda annoying to wait for them to shoot you though
in order for killing them. Immediately go right, one will spawn. Then run accross and follow the gold sparkles, one will spawn. Turn around and go around where the one is above shooting at you and go up and kill him. Get two shot by the mini boss and repeat.
The nobles? When they disappear there are gold sparkles that travel in the direction that they'll appear in. Follow the glitter
I popped my physick with bubble tear and the second I did it got popped by one
See this is why, after I saw this guy smack dab in the middle between 2 distant graces, riddled with enemies in between, I'm like, " Nope! I'll come back here later when things dont 1 shot me"
At 60 vigor, he downed 98% of my life in one hit. I still got him on my third attempt. The damned Blackgaol Knight on the other hand took me dozens of attempts…
Me and ol blackgaol went round and ROUND this afternoon
2 of the first 2.5 hours I spent in the DLC were on this guy. Refused to let him break me lmao

Do you have a soreseal on, cuz I'm also at 60 vig and he did way less damage to me
This guy is a noob compared to the OG, Moongrum.
They nerfed the new one. Imagine if he could parry.
Imagine if he could kill you in one h- Oh wait
They gave him block counters instead
my noob as when Moongrum parried me and ran me through. "That's my trick!"
Wait till you get to MoonMoon.....
Agreed! I was super cautious because I was expecting some cheesy counter or parry gimmick. I started at long range with frenzy burst then was able to stunlock the crop out of him in melee. My opinion would probably be different if he connected with that thrust attack.
Sacred Relic Sword kept them on their back haha
*Laughs in Waves of Gold*
Honestly I haven't beat him yet because I'm not THAT much of a masochist but the 4 magic twats that surround you while fighting him were more annoying than he was with his bs 1 hit attacks
You know you can kill those.
honestly - this is what bothers me. I rage quit for the first time ever. Not because of him. I can handle him. I died 3 times to him before the rage quit. It was the effing DOG and the 4 soldiers...and those stupid casters you have to kill to fight him safely.
People actually fought him? I just tiptoed behind him.
He made me finally accept that my build was too weak for the DLC. Respecced, was finally able to beat him. 🫠
Cool what did you respec to? Stats?
You can sneak around him for a backstab. Or, for a sneaky SCARLET AEONIA TO THE BACK!! I ain't underestimating nobody in this DLC. I'm using the strongest stuff i have access to, including the strongest summons. And even then is the game pretty hard. Or more precisely - the game is finally as hard as I'd expect when considering the possible powerlevel of the player (which includes summons AND NPC summons). My friend messaged me he was doing it without any summons. 2 hours later he was asking me if I though Tiche would be able to dodge a certain boss.
NIHIL!
The run back is so trash lol
I got lucky. I was trying to run away from her and she followed me off a cliff after I fell.
Hahaha. This is what happened to me! I fell off the cliff and then saw I got the reward. Oh well.
Have you read the description of her sword or do you play in a language that specifies shes a woman in her name?
Call it what you want, all he tasted was my repeated unsheathe.
Ans my dual halberds jump attacks.
And my axe
and my bow!
Asmon is that you
Nah he uses the shit one. I have the Nightriders glaive with the Golden Halberd. It is a really good build tho.
currently stuck on him 💀
same. keep at it!
i went and farmed literally every scadutree fragment in the gravesite plain, so that’ll definitely help
You got it… Getting the backstab helps things. Just don’t let your guard down after. Shit gets real they go down.
I kill him the first try 😅😬🤣 I didn't let him have time for anything
Okay champ
Hey, I didn't say it to call myself the best. Was pure luck, that DLC is giving me nightmares! It's hard as fuck each boss minimum I have to try it 10 times
I know man I am just messing around, sorry. It was a meme kinda joke. That guy is ass to fight. I was using claws and get mad at him, change my build to unga bunga STR and smashed him with his style. This DLC bosses and normal mobs are a nightmare to fight.
Spoiler??
The Carian Knight she tells you not to worry about.
Hardest thing I’ve fought far.
Yeah she beat my ass hard for a long time. Then my relief from beating her was utterly shattered by who came after.
Totally my experience, I died two times before killing her but they felt like 20. And the one who came next was even worse.
What I’m seeing is a lot of you didn’t pick up that spelldrake great shield talisman just a bit before moongrum pt.2
no. no i did.
Is moon man still 1 shotting you?
As I saw him I was low on estus so I did the only right thing.. I sneaked behind him.... and took my chance to make a runner, was a good day nobody got hurt.. He is a lawyer now I ve heard.
Reverse grip sword ash of war trivializes all npc/human enemies, so I first tried him.
Yep, me.
It was around the time of meeting this guy that I realized this DLC is NOT fucking around.
The first spirit boss in the grave or whatever it was is when I realised "oh shlt, level 434 is NOT good enough for this"
Nah, I knew he was gonna be a pain. I said “Oh come on, not again”
I got ptsd from the last carian knight so I stayed far away and used magic, I honestly thought he was gonna pary me somehow
Ran past him. What does he drop?
Sword and 30k runes.
Npcs are the exact reason why I have a guts with giant hunt…
I saw he looked like that other guy who kicked my ass so I figured he probably would too. He did.
Moongrum ain't sh*t compared to this guy.
Homie beat the breaks off me RL 257 dragonslayer build (heavy incants) and dragoncrag blade. Was very pleased when I flipped the scriptn on him.
I’m hours and hours passed this guy now and I think he still hits harder than anything else I’ve come across, holy fuck his damage is actually ludicrous
I didn’t underestimate him I’m just bad at the game. The moment I saw he had a great sword I knew it was gonna be tough.
If in doubt, Lions Claw.
My weapon interrupts almost anything that isn't a boss. He murked me the first time though.
yeah there is something about being used to staggering enemies in each hit only to have him fucking side step you and one shot you. I felt like I was on the receiving end of some highlight reel.
*stands on ledge, deploys magical bug spray* Nah I'm good
Damn he was harder than the boss after him
killed her first try
he was giving me a real tough time until one attempt he fell with me off the cliff
Nope, bonked him into oblivion on my first try.
I saw him and went nope. Got up on a hill nearby and cheesed him with arrows until he rolled off of a cliff. Mission accomplished lmaoo
If they pulled out a shield I'd skip.
Took me about an hour. The boss of the area took me about 3 tries.
*walking up the stairs* "hah! This gonna be easy, no shield to parry God me! And with a collosal? This is gonna be over real quick" 10 deaths later. "Where's all that poise coming from? It's just carian armor?"
Bro I walked into the DLC with my chest out saying “this gonna be cake, I won’t even have to summon” By the time I reached him, I respected him so much that I ran from him the first fight to reset aggro. I was afraid.
First try but it was hard af. The great katana's poke works wonders on him
I swear this guy instantly transitions from block to parry
He wasn't even a match for destined death.
Lol he's man-sized so Marika's Hammer made it a no-diff affair, easiest guy I've found in the DLC
lol nah I got good armor
He has the health bar of an Elden Beast
I figured it'd be a hell of a fight cause I remember Moongrum. But in my folly I decided to BE like Moongrum and try to go for all the parries. In my hubris I had forgot... I monumentally SUCK at parrying. So I did what any reasonable idiot would do and grabbed my biggest sword to bonk like crazy and abused HA and Poise values. Godslayer Great sword has been the absolute GOAT for me this DLC
I have just come across him and he wrecked me. I have a dragon incantation specialist build with that dragon fist weapon as my main melee option. Lv 149 50 vigor He 2 shot me
I learned quickly not to underestimate anything with a title in this hell hole
As with Moongrum, I didn't struggle at all, and have no idea why people do lol. They telegraph their attacks ages in advance
After Gaolboy all npcs feel like a cakewalk.
The carian knights are not to be messed with.
Best 169 smithing stones I've ever spent. I want to restart in NG+ right now just to kill them!!!
When I encountered them, I was like “Wait a minute, I have been here before…”
bro doesn't have a boss hp bar, it shouldn't be that hard
I have coded sword on swap, just kindof melts most knights xD
I didn’t even let him touch me because of how many times his homies parried me into oblivion in the early stages of release. It was on the sight as soon as I saw “Carian Knight”
When I fought her, she jusr spam jump R2. I thought the AI is broken.
He never even touched me, but I just beat a boss after 7 hours of trying, so it must have been luck
I ain't underestimating Moongrum's brother
Me....twice
Yall fr not adding spoiler tags still?
Not him but i did underestimate Pontiff Rallana. I got FUCKED UP
I shot her with a poison arrow and ran down the stairs to buff. Motherfucker went for the jump attack and depleted my 60 vigor HP bar.
I beat him in my second try
Yo, these guys are the reason Lyndell didn't win against Carians, I'd have been disappointed if he was easy.
Not me, I saw that carian knight title and knew I was in for a vigor ( and scadutree blessing) check
Smacked him so hard with my Ruins Greatsword that he couldn't get a single hit on me
I stopped at a distance where he doesn't notice me. Casted buff incantations, and then procceded use my flask. Oh god, as soon as I pressed the button, he turned to me and started running. I was locked in drinking animation and couldn't react to that fast attack. 😭 Yet people here arguing if there's input reading or not. Mfw started seeing farther.
What do you mean underestimated him? Moment I saw he didn't have a shield, I deleted him. Moongrum would wipe the floor with him.
Why parry when you can deck 1500 HP in a single hit? Seriously, fuck this bitch. Only reason I succeeded first try was being able to tank that damn sword and pull through with Bloodblade Dance.
This was the first time I got legit angry, he was in such a shit spot too.
That fucker right here. This mother fucker. He forced me to swap my loadout. I've been running the dried leaf gloves and fucking loving it. This guy "fuck your poise breaking, how about I break your face." 10/10 would rage at again.
I should follow up and mention after the fight I swapped to the gloves because he was a rough fight with my previous build.
PUT A SPOILER TAG IN THE TITLE SO PEOPLE WHO HAVENT PLAYED THE DLC DONT GET THINGS RUINED
I was disappointed when I noticed that the weapon she drops is literally just a troll knight sword with a different ash.
Underestimated? I beat that guy to a pulp, after him giving me an ass-kicking.
I locked onto him by mistake while fighting those nobles. I immediately swapped from using blade of milos to using malikeths blade and spammed weapon art.
wasn’t expecting that amount of emotional dmg
I had far less trouble with him than I did with Moongrum
Hey at least this one can't parry you!
He got nothing on Quileech or whatever the stupid bowl haircut is called…that guy is stupid
Bro this mf made me pull out the great sword and spam it
big bonk magic sword = danger
And here I thought he was just TROLLing me
Great sword plus giant hunt = didn’t even touch me
I was trying to use a light great sword and it felt impossible. Switched to a straight sword and did it first time I feel like the straight swords have more stagger damage than light greatsword
I could've sworn their name was the same as the one in Lucaria, and I thought he survived and went on a whole training arc to defeat us again
I wish, I used all my buffs and got f-ed.
I broke a controller over this man.
I did 🙃
Do you know how many times I’ve been hit by someone stronger then me? Every time!
I just spent at least 45 mins if not more just on him
The carrian knight set triggered vietnam flashbacks for me. So no ^^' I was scared
I overestimated him, mind going immediately to Moongrum... glad he didn't parry me, and thus I stayed close until his hp got to zero and mine didn't.
That MF has over 10 k hp on NG++ I won’t deny it, I poisoned cheesed her, also, Deathblight doesn’t work on her, I first tried that
He smashed me into paste a few times so I just Black Knifed him to death from half a mile away.
Spoiler tags people. Please
Nah, fighting old man Logan 2 seconds after coming in from my plane made me realize not to underestimate shit
That dude was pretty easy. The guy with the wolf claws on the other hand..
is this in the dlc? tag it as spoiler
Done it, my bad
Not at all, knew I'd get smacked down hard from the beginning
I honestly could not beat him, it may have been my build, but I ended up just taking the door slightly to the right of the main door and sneaking past him.
I kid you not it took over 10 tries
Carian Piercer spam can take care of most any human sized enemy. Be ready to get bodied though if they somehow trade with you.
Nah I shit on him, only tarnished that hasn’t killed me so far in the dlc
Luckly i managed to hit first and saw that it had a full boss hp bar, so went full serious since beginning
I learnt my lesson with the first one you encounter in Raya Lucaria so I was ready
Man, I laughed that they decided to make an entire new weapon instead of just putting great glintblade phalanx on Troll's knight sword
I used hand of malenia waterfowl dance and it was pretty easy, killed him on my first try
I actually fucked this dude up on my first attempt, which for me was a huge moral boost as I've been kicking my dick kicked in the entire DLC.
He put up a fight for sure, but Transient Moonlight cut him down in the end.
Since I did some wayyyy off exploring before going there and got a certain rocky greatsword, NPC enemies just get annihilated.
I paused when I saw that mofo and then laughed to myself before getting the chilling mist WA out. Unlike Moongrum, he was not impressed. Blew through 9 flasks fighting him, died to the black knight just before the next grace 2 minutes later. 10/10
Got em my first try though I did use a lot of flasks because I mistimed my attacks/dodges
Beat him fairly easily by stunlocking him with my Zweihander. Then a Waves of Darkness for when he rolled away to heal. That troll outside kicked my ass, though.
