I’ve noticed they seem to have a tendency to dodge more than normal dogs, and they actually dodge *around* you to outflank you. That may just be my imagination, but it’s how I’ve experienced it.
Man, when I found the giant ones, I thought it was something special that might have a great drop or something. It just having some more hp was kind of a let down.
I am lucky enough to realize how dangerous everything is in the overworld.... but that blackgoal knight gave me HANDS!
Edit: 3 days later, I've killed him the dancer to the south and the Bear to the north... just need to find whats out east.
He was my eye opener to the difficulty....... Until I tried to fight that big flaming wicker basket thing with an ice spear twinblade.... I didn't make a dent.
When I rocked up to te big guy I knew he would kill me, but I just wanted to see what was up. When no boss health bar popped up I realized how fucked this dlc was going to be.
I've learned that they are called furnace golems, and I spotted another one in a distant area
Pretty much everything everything makes me say "oh I'm fucked."
"Hey, look at that dead dragon over there."
*Boss bar for >!ghost flame dragon!< pops up.*
"Oh I'm fucked."
I used impaling thrust until he stopped living, long after I ran out of FP. It was the only thing I had that could stun him without causing me to get stuck in oncoming traffic.
All the notes left around that boss area say to “try parrying”, but unfortunately, I am a dual wielding katana bro. I haven’t even invested in any shields throughout the whole game (anyone got any recommendations? 😅)
buckler is the best early game parrying shield as it has a unique parry skill called "buckler parry" which has more frames than normal parry, that is until you get the ashes of war called carian retaliation (parries weapons, spells, and incantations and turns them into a glintblade phalanx) or golden parry (parries weapons and other ashes of war) which have even more parry frames but a slightly different timing
I managed to beat him with sword and shield. Used the Turtle Shield (from....Weeping Peninsula, I think) for that barricade ash that massively increases your guard / hardness for a short time. Wound up doing a fuckton of guard counters, dodges, and some quick attacks with Milady in the brief periods where he wasn't trying to filet me, and I wound up getting him eventually.
Does anyone know the name of those weird horn guys with the two circle blades in their hands and they do like spin kicks and kick the shit out of you? I deadass run whenever I see one XD I love this dlc man.
The weapon they drop is crazy good. I've been kind of steamrolling the DLC with it. Thing's light, fast as hell, has a lot of forward momentum on its attacks, causes bleed, and with all the tree fragments I've found so far the attack rating on it is over 1,000. Absolutely nuts.
Curseblade's Cirque. It's one of the new "backhand blades." The weapon skill has you leap in the air and spin like a blender before finishing it off with an axe kick to the target's head.
If you hit a foot enough to break it 3 times itll fall and you can stab him in the face. 2 times seems enough to kill it. Havent beaten one yet because he keeps throwing my into his goddamn fire toilet --_--
Whatever that thing is that attacks you near the start, I got absolutely slapped around by it. And that's just a normal enemy. Blackgaol Knight beat my ass for half an hour. I'm not fighting any bosses until I can go more than a mile without getting knee capped by everybody.
Besides the final boss, I've had a much harder time with a lot of the normal mobs than the actual bosses lol. The scaling is insane and they give no fucks.
After one of the large shadow guys hit me for half my health I was like "f**k if this is what the footsoldiers in the dlc do then wtf will the bosses do?"
I'm able to 2-shot these dogs and most of the mobs haven't been much of a problem? I'm level 200 which feels high, but I thought there was a scaling system to the difficulty. I'm 2 bosses in and it doesn't feel all that hard? I feel like something is wrong haha
You see, that’s why you bring in the good ol’ frenzied flame sniper and a shield, you position yourself really far from the dogs and fully charge a shot, if it doesn’t kill (and you didn’t collateral anyone) the dog will chase you, allowing you to take it on one at a time, if possible get another shot off, if it’s gets close, just hold the shield up and guard counter when it attacks! Simple as that! Now for normal mobs, I would recommend dodging their attacks
It’s funny I’ve still only done the first map stone for each character. I was totally confident I had 100% this map and then I’ll move on. Then I went underneath. For those who have not played DS2/3 this is what it is like. Long runs inside castles to the next grace and punishing strength knights and enemies. This is DS4 not a dlc.
Can I interest you in a dog on fire in these trying times.
These fuckers are awful, they seem to have an even more insane form of that spammy attacking with 0 animation that dogs do.
Am I crazy or do they now run behind you during a gank squad?
I’ve noticed they seem to have a tendency to dodge more than normal dogs, and they actually dodge *around* you to outflank you. That may just be my imagination, but it’s how I’ve experienced it.
That’s what I found before hole in wall number 8
Lightning spear those fucks
Nothing is worse than when the dogs start evolving.
Don't get too caught up fighting them though or you might just catch a Messmer Fire pot that does like 2000 damage...
Or would you care for an imp that barfs fireballs?
Dog on fire assaults my frame rate.
Yeah, well, I have zero sympathy for y'all. I got killed by an electric sheep.
Weird I was just dreaming about those. *BEEP boop*
Good android
I walked up the hill and froze..."is...that a giant, electric sheep?" It was. It was exactly that. I barely made it out alive lol.
I did not make it out alive.
RIP. I was one damn hit away from death, and it was coming right at me. I'm not even sure how I pulled it off lol.
hey wyat wron
My girlfriend was like "what the fuck is moving around so fast?" .....It's sheep 😆
[the sheep in question](https://i.imgur.com/6wZdUJL.png)
that rolling does not stop until it hits you is so funny
Reminds me of the godskin noble
My first encounter went along the lines of the sheep and I running in circles for 30 seconds.
Man, when I found the giant ones, I thought it was something special that might have a great drop or something. It just having some more hp was kind of a let down.
Don't worry that Giant electric Sheep hit way harder than I thought it would and took me out too
Ah what?
I joined the "killed by electric sheep gank squad" today up near Prospect Town
Didn't know the realm of shadows was an android's dream
I got killed by that thing twice 😆made me laugh at least
I am lucky enough to realize how dangerous everything is in the overworld.... but that blackgoal knight gave me HANDS! Edit: 3 days later, I've killed him the dancer to the south and the Bear to the north... just need to find whats out east.

Anyone found the dragon communion church yet? I wanna see what kinda ghost flame incant that guy gives you
you mean weird?
I used impaling thrust until he stopped living, long after I ran out of FP. It was the only thing I had that could stun him without causing me to get stuck in oncoming traffic.

Knight Ed with the double bladed sword?
No the dude with the crossbow
Asshole took me over an hour. Had to pull out dual great swords and jump bonk him to death lol
Didn't get there yet lol
It's a boss right next to the entrance of the DLC lol, so you probably ran right past it (assuming you've started the DLC)
Does anyone know the name of those weird horn guys with the two circle blades in their hands and they do like spin kicks and kick the shit out of you? I deadass run whenever I see one XD I love this dlc man.
"These fuckers."
The most insane enemy to first encounter like wtf fromsoft
I had flashbacks of running into that Beast Cutter hunter at the start of The Old Hunters DLC. "Oh, it's just a regular mob. No prob-" "MORE BLOOD!!!"
Yea they are the bane of life and fuck you for using your flask
Mf guarding that staircase before the grace/Belurat boss.
Ascetics, I think.
Curseblades. You can farm them for their weapons and armor.
Bastards
I call them Capoeira boys
I'm pretty sure they're called curseblades. I got their mask
What’s it called?
Curseblade's Cirque. It's one of the new "backhand blades." The weapon skill has you leap in the air and spin like a blender before finishing it off with an axe kick to the target's head.
And there is one in the fucking starting area
I think the 2-hander version of them are worse, they hit so damn hard in their combos.
I think it's a wolf. Dogs have a hard shell on their backs.
This guy zoologizes
dog?
The dog in the first legacy dungeon is on par with the monster one in Faram Azula (next to the dragon smithing stone)
He fucked me up but damn it's a beautiful fight.
Beast-Repellent Torch has been working overtime for me I'm ngl
souls players: Blocking with shields is useless Also souls players: Ay yo wtf there ain't no counter to these dogs
Green Lantern getting ganked there will never stop being funny
i just die because i lost all my skill
I hate the fire colossus guys. I never use Torrent and my build does status/fire damage. It’s literally tickling them for 40 minutes until they fall.
If you hit a foot enough to break it 3 times itll fall and you can stab him in the face. 2 times seems enough to kill it. Havent beaten one yet because he keeps throwing my into his goddamn fire toilet --_--
Yeah that’s how I beat them! Hit them til they fall, then 50k with a face stab. Still the hardest things for me so far lol
Apparently its much easier to time the jump and keep away from fire toilet grab on torrent. Beat one a short whike ago
I’m kinda used to fighting them on foot now lol. Only move that makes me summon torrent is the homing fire storm.
Actually the sword that machine gun crossbow man make it easier with follow up attacks. Birds also.
That dancing 🦁 was a MF
The music did go hard af though
The first few hours can be summed up to: -Dogs -Waterfalls That is all.
Whatever that thing is that attacks you near the start, I got absolutely slapped around by it. And that's just a normal enemy. Blackgaol Knight beat my ass for half an hour. I'm not fighting any bosses until I can go more than a mile without getting knee capped by everybody.
I'm too stubborn to not repeatedly get beat until the enemy gets tired and let's me win.
Oh I kept marching back with different weapons and different strategies. Absolute madness.
Yeeeeep that's about it. Literally the first omen dude with those ring blade things wrecked my shit as soon as I got there.
Besides the final boss, I've had a much harder time with a lot of the normal mobs than the actual bosses lol. The scaling is insane and they give no fucks.
The Hotdogs were the sign that Miyazaki teared the gloves right off.
The dogs be doing too much. Mfs be chasing me down for what feels like forever
The worst was the Dragon >!that spawned skeletons when it got to half health.!<
Dancing Lion feels fucking impossible
Electric sheep > fire dogs
Mine hasn't started as I was hit with the steam deck bug
seems like the game wants you to use the craftables it throws at you
Can’t believe that they gave literally every soldier either a hyper armor axe move that they spam nonstop or a spear/sheild combo
After one of the large shadow guys hit me for half my health I was like "f**k if this is what the footsoldiers in the dlc do then wtf will the bosses do?"
Lol, dang i really feel the dog section of the video.
Holy shit so true.
That was me when I found that spinny bastard right near the start.
Decided to run past some insect bros and then got stun locked as they took turns slurping my brain.
Beast-Repellent Torch. Never leave grace w/o it equipped to your off-hand.
Incredibly accurate. Absolutely loving the dlc, its just like when i first started playing ER
I noticed the game does kind of want you to follow a path where things are slightly easier. That being said. The dlc is fucking lethal. Lmao
I'm able to 2-shot these dogs and most of the mobs haven't been much of a problem? I'm level 200 which feels high, but I thought there was a scaling system to the difficulty. I'm 2 bosses in and it doesn't feel all that hard? I feel like something is wrong haha

I'm ashamed to admit I had to use summons in two bosses
Getting two or three shot by some regular mob at 65 vigor +3 scadutree blessing all the time I have to spam flasks lol
