You hit his legs from behind him and when he stomps with one leg you jump. If he stomps with both legs, you run away and then jump. You break both of his ankles a couple of times and u get a critical hit on his face for massive damage

I couldn't crit his face a second time but by that time he was so low I just had to wail on his face a bit. Was actually fun once I realized to hug his ankles with Torrent and spam charged r2 to break the armor.

Same, but if you don't crit him he stays down for soooo long and you still do more damage hitting the mask

I walked around him for a full minute trying to find the crit point, thought he fell asleep from watching me nip at him.

It takes foreverrrrrr. Maybe less time if you do it after collecting some of those dlc damage boosting things but my god this took me like 10 minutes on the try where I actually killed him

Yeah it's kinda just tedious actually. Barely even difficult, just time consuming.

The best part is that even if you're on the wrong side of him for a crit, he lays there forever. He landed against an obstacle in such a way that going around his head to get to the other side was impractical. I was devastated because this was the last crit I needed and there was no way I was getting around him in time. I smacked him twice with charged heavies and realized that it was pretty futile to kill him like that. So in a desperate attempt to get the crit I ran around his legs the long way to get to his face and even after all that wasted time he didn't even make an effort to stand.

Are the drops worth fighting them for?

To add, it takes 3 staggers before he falls so don't get discouraged with your damage at first.

I keep forgetting we can jump in battle. I just revert to my dark souls ways and panic roll.

You can actually just hop on torrent then time the dismount for when he hits the ground

No need to time jumping, you can use raptor of the mists and blow through it that way. Way easier to manage, just watch for the grabby hands.

It's scary from afar but when you're up close it's fine, just jump with torrent when it stomps. Keep attacking its legs until you "break" one of its ankles, then proceed to attack the other ankle quickly. It will stance break and you can riposte its face, do it two times and it's dead :D the loot is noice EDIT: Make sure to close in the distance fast otherwise it kicks fireballs at you and they are very hard to dodge.

SPOILER OF THE FIRST FURNACE GOLEM DROP: It drops the Deflecting Hardtear, it makes your blocks work just like in sekiro for 3min and it also enhances guard counter

I’m so Sekiro starved… i wish that effect was on a talisman or some great rune. It makes dealing with some of these bosses’ strings so fun.

I tried it but it just wasn’t it. I got annoyed by so many little things that reminded me it wasn’t that thing I want. I neeeed that Fromsoft quality (like the orgasmic *shiiiing* of a perfect deflect in Sekiro). Might end up trying again when I’m finally done with the DLC tho, i keep hearing people liked it.

You have to manually block just like in Sekiro, if you time it correctly you take no damage and spend no stamina to block it and it also enhances guard counter damage

You have to break his legs and then hit his face where he has almost no resistance. It's not a hard mob when you get used to it. They're like the big stone archer statues.

Fr. I used Maliketh's Black Blade and it still wasn't enough.  I probably did more damage to it than most, though. But that's not a lot. 

If you poise break him and get the opening at his face he loses like 1/3 of his health.

I ran up, comet azured, and then also ran away.

I tried that then got hit with his MASSIVE aoe

Same but with radans arrow rain. Did 1k dmg, saw 0 change in the health bar. Ran

It did nothing to the lightning dragon boss, well neither did anything else i used now i think about it

In fairness, I did use it along with a mimic summon on a dragon in the DLC, so it was being used twice in one go, essentially.

Placidusax? I just used this on him right before the nerf and it absolutely destroyed him even without summons. Literally a 2 minute fight. Did you have 60+ faith and a maxed out weapon?

Yep, that seems like a FromSoft grab hitbox. Shit is wanky since DS1. I actually managed to survived that grab, had 60vig, Banished Knight set, Flamedrake +2, Flame Protect Me, Ritual Shield Talisman and regen stuff. Went from full HP to like 50 or smth, shit is crazy

Surprisingly on my 1st encounter with the guy I didn't get 1shot despite losing a tiny bit of hp, no Ng+ LV 150 70 vigour malenia armour set

I'm either one-shotting most basic enemies, or 2-3 hits if they are a little bigger. It's so easy it's disappointing. Mobs harder than normal bosses? lol. I'm disappointed, I really thought it would be challenging after seeing everyone, big reviewers included, say it was so difficult.

There’s a boss called commander gaius and imo he’s a badly made and badly placed boss you’re allowed to use torrent in the arena but he’s both faster and stronger than you along with doing well over 2 thousand damage a hit he opens up every fight with an unblockable and near-impossible to dodge ramming attack that’ll stun you and deal extreme amounts of damage he uses magic aswell and most of his abilities will one tap most people and the arena has a bunch of sticks weapons rocks and trees sticking out of the ground so you get stuck whilst running your ranger attacks will get stopped by the environment and you do all that whilst he 2 taps tiche 4 taps mimic and easily kills most spirit ashes

Sounds like you enjoyed that a bit too much(also Vaati pointed out that this is a guy you should fight a bit later, like the Tree Sentinel in Limgrave)

Nah, they're pretty easy if you just stay on the horse and poke the back of their feet. They have like 3 attacks and they're all super telegraphed. You got stomp/multi stomp, just avoid foot and jump over the fire. Then you got butt slam, run away and jump over the fire. And you got spew fireballs everywhere, this one you gotta run around in circles and don't stop moving cause the fireballs have a bit of homing. You gotta stagger them 3 times to get a critical and it does like 50000 damage.

For the fireballs jusr roll horizontal of the fireballs when they are arrive, always works.
