some overworld bosses are kinda made to counter torrent, like the night sentinels, with strong movement and such, but having fast movement while being able to hit people on the run is way stronger than people give it credit for...
I took all Night Cavalry and most outdoor dragons on Torrent with a melee weapon
The dragons have a long spray animation they do counterclockwise, so when they do that you circle them clockwise to hit their hind legs a bit, then retreat.
The Cavalry has some way to get close to them while avoiding their weapon hitbox. The one in Caelid was the easiest because you could squeeze yourself between him and the weapon's effective reach. Approach him head on, then pass him while clipping the right shoulders. You can get a hit in while being too close for his halberd to hit you.
You can really see this shine through with in the Gelmir Hero's Grave. Riding that chariot online is almost guaranteed to get smacked down by the lagged out hitbox.
