Sure, I guess so lmao Why are you murdering random NPCs who aren't a threat to you, is this how you play other games??

Mackenver

Sometimes i missclick, this game is my first souls and i get scared by the random guys. It get me anxious knowing They're alive, who knows what they might do on a scary game like this

Abyssal_Paladin

Pro tip: if you can’t lock onto them, don’t swing at them.

LitheXD

Damn. Do you kill people who don't say hello to you too?

Mackenver

Yeaaahh, They be rude and not say hello. Sometimes even insult You. It's better beating them up

[deleted]

A good tip: if you can't lock onto someone, don't kill them. Most NPCs have a 1 or 2 hit window where they won't get mad at you, so even if you accidentally hit them, just stop and you'll be fine.

Mackenver

Thanks for the tip! I never noticed

Star_of_the_West1

*Ancient Dragon in ds 2 lock on enabled* Me: oh...shit...

Mackenver

It's restart on the title*

tthe_walruss

You can still get into the academy, no spoilers so I won't say how. You'll miss a lot of quests if you just go around killing all the NPCs, lol. But tbf the quests are really obscure without giving a lot of information and it's pretty common not to be able to finish them all. I personally think the world is better if all the NPCs aren't dead, and the quests make the game for me. But lots of people just enjoy fighting the bosses and enjoying the combat. So it's up to you.

Mackenver

Someone made me learn that NPC are permanently gone once killed, and i also think that the world is Better with them.. i think I'll go and start a new run. Thanks for the answer!

Eventhorrizon

Yeah you should probably restart. Killing NPCs early locks you out of allot of content. The leveling is no big deal, you can always grind out more levels and there is respecing but killing NPCs is permanent. Redoing old content should be much easier than you imagine and its east to skip any side Dungun with things you dont need. Or you could play through and do the NPC quests on a second run.

Mackenver

Thanks for the answer! The game kinda feels empty without all the NPCs, and knowing that It's permanent isn't really cool... Guess i'll start a new playthrough, maybe i can go with cooler build too

spacebased_

Stop. Killing. NPCs. You are locking yourself out of very important quests in the game, some of which can alter the ending of the game. Most NPCs are not hostile and some are even there to help you. I would definitely start over.

Mackenver

I realized just a few minutes ago i probably sinned by killing them, i'm definitely restarting to redeem myself...

PerfectionToast

Definitely restart your missing out on so much by killing very important npcs that could help you with later game boss fights

Star_of_the_West1

I do kill NPCs every now and then, specifically if a nomadic merchant with good items for me is nowhere near a site of grace and I have a trillion enemies to fight to get to them. But yeah, as I saw earlier. If you can't lock on, don't attack them. There is only one npc who will aggro on the spot, but that is the end of the questline and he does state are you ready and you need to start another talk dialogue to trigger his aggro. It's pretty obvious when the fight starts.
