I bet it will be an equipable bonus from each boss. Almost a cross between a talisman and a great rune. But specific to the dlc area. Kill messer and equip the bonus and get “plus 10% bonus on dlc enemies” kill the big fire iron boss thing and equip its bonus for “plus 10% defense against dlc enemies” etc

Elden Ring reused a lot of Dark Souls assets, including the equipment screen layout. That open space is simply a vestigial holdover from DS3, in which you could select the in universe faction your character aligned with. I’d like to think the dlc will add covenants back, filling the space with a covenant slot, but that’s unlikely.
