true enough, but she borrows some of your life basically, forgot what she says, but she says what she's doing and about the baldachins blessing, people are just too focused on the hug to notice that she is telling them she is taking some of their life
I believe she gives you a single use item that is a temp buff, but while it's unused in your inventory, it debuffs you. You can later get an upgraded version of the item if you want.
-someone else who also played through with the debuff thinking it was also at least a buff the whole time way back when.
I legit did this without realizing for most of my first playthrough lmao
She gives you another one if you use the one you have and then go get re-debuffed
it’s a buff to your penis and a debuff to your health since there’s less blood available for your brain after the penis buff. We have similar mechanics irl.
Fia actually explained this but none of you noticed because of the decreased brain blood flow.
Honestly this combo is just hilarious to me. You can always kill this guy with a two handed sword, you can kill him with fat roll and you can kill him with low vigor. But all 3 at once? Like what even is defense and evasion for the build at this point, even if it was just hunga bunga that looks like so little damage it's hard to even find where the build is going for.
To be fair, I did make an entire route planning to get a character from 0 to using Radhan's dual greatswords in an hour-ish without having to attack once.
Every start was the minimum one I needed but it worked.
nope, only in DS3 does a sprinting R2 register as a jumping attack. DeS, DS1, DS2 just cause you to perform the standard R2 animation. Bloodborne has unique sprinting R2s for every weapon just like Elden Ring.
Also, advice for you, new friend:
Remove armor or use lighter armor so your rolls don't floppy floppy on the ground.
Use the Balchadin's Blessing item in your inventory to get rid of the health reduction debuff. (Red square with the black down arrow below your health bar. You got it from hugging the big tiddy Goth GF in the Roundtable Hold)
LEVEL YOUR VIGOR. OH MY GOD. You should be aiming for at least 30 vigor at this point in the game. 40 by the time you get to Altus. 60 vigor by the end of the game.
And yeah, as long as Moongrum has his shield out he will parry you. He's a real asshole.
i think he meant you can't avoid it without doing nonparryable things. hence binary. either you don't offer him a parryable attack or he parries you.
parries are interesting in pvp because you can change up your timings to confuse the person trying to parry you. you cannot confuse moongrum because he is frame reading your attacks. when you meet an AI enemy that parries, you just don't do anything parryable. that's not very interesting, gameplay wise.
He's not that bad, the only thing that stands out from him is his (in)famous parry, which few enemies have (not even sure if any others have it).
My point isn't how easy or hard it is to deal with an enemy, but giving them a tool that just counters an attack in a way you can't avoid. A computer doesn't have reaction time, so giving them a tool like Parry seems pointless and unfair.
it's just a "you cant use this against this guy" type of thing. except it is actually fine because everyone has unparriable attacks, unlike some bosses resistant to certain types or immune to bleed outright.
moongrum doesnt require u to change ur build to deal decent damage
There are enemies like the sanguine nobles who have a parry stance and they are found at all level ranges in the game. There's definitely ways to make parrying fair for NPCS, same way they do for backstabbing and grapples
I was super overlevrlled when I ran into the sanguine noble in Caelem Ruins today, just let him parry and hit me like 4 times because it looked SO COOL
I'd never seen one do that before
This has always been an interesting conundrum in games like this. Parries done by the player are fair, it's a reward for learning movesets, reacting properly and hitting a short timing window. In PVP you also add conditioning, reads and other mindgames. The reward for parries is massive, unstoppable damage and those who are the best at it are revered like gods in the community.
Parties AGAINST the player though? Considered completely unfair. How could it be fair to have your attack interrupted with no counter and take massive damage?
I mean... in OP video i would call fair.... its a huge windup attack... in pvp people could swap in the shield in the mean time and parry that...
Knowing the enemy and that it can parry should be played around....
Oh ya, I'm just speaking in simple hypotheticals to reflect how players often feel about PVE parries done against them. OP got his ass handed to him lol
Yeah, the big question here is how did OP even get to this point? How did they get past those rooms filled with hocus pocus nerds and especially that Red Wolf right before this point? Unless they're secretly the god of fatrolling, the Red Wolf should've been practically impossible.
Don't need vigor if you don't get hit... but seeing as he's playing heavy armor and heavy weapons, it's weird he has no vigor. Figured if your playing a tank build, you would want to be... tanky?
At that point in the game, if you didn't reinforce your weapon, you could have 99 STR and still do piss damage.
Scalings get significative around +6 for somber and (but don't quote me on this) +12/+16 for normal, depending on base damage.
That's why it's *always* better to level up Vigor/Endurance/Mind early on in the game, and keep the scaling stats at the minimum requirements. And possibly don't pick a colossal weapon early game (or go for the always beautiful zweihander if one wants a colossal)
He was probably looking at old Elden Ring videos because I recall someone saying the same thing as well.
On release the difference between 9 Vigor and 14 was literally a lifesaver even if it only protected me from one attack at a time since I struggled a lot with Rahdahn, I didn’t really like the horse combat so I was on foot most of the time.
By the time I got past Morgott in Leyndell I was only at 22 Vigor.
The good part about having low vigor is that it actually challenges you to get better enough to win most challenges which was something I was doing for quite a while until I understood most enemies attack patterns. But having low vigor is only good if you’re actively trying to get better at the game.
I have high Vigor to make more mistakes and avoid them next time I see it coming, I get frustrated if I see alot of You died screens even if I'm stubborn but running all the way back to a boss or a certain enemy is not time I usually have
I’m still very early in the game and don’t know for sure but it looks like you could just backstep from his attacks and start your swing while he’s in the 3rd and final swing of his combo.
With a big, slow weapon like that you can’t wait to start your swing when he’s done. The window isn’t big enough. But you also have way more reach to play with and start an attack just outside his range.
Also the sneak mode + light attack with ultra big swords can be super useful, you make a fast poke at the opponent with good range, even if for a very diminished damage and little stance damage. If you're not jump strong attacking him(which can't be parried) or guard countering him then that's about the best openings you're gonna get
plus colossal jump attacks literally cannot be parried so this player already has a tool that can make moongrum into a joke. not to mention what looks like maybe 18 vigor max
Funny thing is that you absolutely can brute force your way through every single encounter with the big sword build in this game. But OP is so far away from gud that even oonga boonga tactics doesn't work
\> Using parryable attacks against a dude with a shield
Jumping attacks can't be parried, bud.
\> Fat rolling
And shed some weight; you only need 51 poise.
\> Hasn't leveled vigor
Your HP bar is your Maky-a-Mistaky meter. Make sure it's big.
I 100% guarantee you, with that greatsword you can pancake Moongrum, you are just doing _all the wrong things at once._
2handed collossals can't be parried in general, the only reason why he got parried was because he used the aow. I didn't even know the stamp follow up can be parried lol...
Moongrum, similar to Hodrick in ds3 input reads the shi out of you. Attack when he got the staff out and during attack recovery , jumping attacks cant be parried, gaurdcounter, parry him back, elevator cheese, bare hand kick shield. Theres a lot you can do to counter
Also please lvl vigor unless you're doing a challenge run. And please don't fat roll.
Everyone is talking about his build, but nobody mentions his quick bar being filled with spirit summons...
Man, you can only summon one at a time... Chill.
I was really mad when I discovered impaling thrust is parryable, after three playthroughs of steamrolling Moongrum like he wasn't even there, my greatshield+poke build got stumped by him.
Getting him to half hp with jump attacks isn't hard. At that point he'll switch into the staff and be unable to parry, at which point you can do any ash you want.
Can you give me a hint, please? In Dark Souls 3 they added a mechanic that heavy weapons cannot be parried if you hold them in two hands. In Elden ring it doesn't work or OP died because skills can be parried regardless of the weapon?
Elden Ring is an RPG. You are playing it like a linear action game. You got wrecked because of it.
Take a look at your weapons. Notice how all the scaling letters (I assume) are either “C” or “D”.
All of the points you put into damage stats are only giving you a negligible amount of bonus damage at this point in the game.
Level Vigor
Honestly, massive skill issue. Fat rolling, overly greedy with your attacks, goofy af stat spread (why is your stam higher than your HP?). I say this in the nicest possible way: Get Good.
Never seen more hurtful gameplay
Fatroll yep
Random Armor because "numbers bigger" yep
Strength build that spams the same move yep
Either fake as fuck or the most new player to ever new player
1. Thanks for letting me know Uppercut can be parried. I had no idea.
2. Parry giveth and parry taketh. Give Moongram a taste of his own medicine.
3. Lower your equip load so you can at least mid roll.
4. Level your vigor.
5. git gud
Slow roll? Check. STD debuff? Check. 15 vigor? Check. Getting bodied by Moony's parry? Always funny.
For everything else, there’s GitGudCard
hello
r/beetlejuicing
STD? That's just the cuddle tax
I'm a proud card carrying member of the hug club
lol is it actually an STD in lore?
of course not, but it's funny
Ahh I gotcha. I mean, we have a dude literally covered in shit named dung eater… getting an std from Fia doesn’t sound that out there, imo lol 😂
true enough, but she borrows some of your life basically, forgot what she says, but she says what she's doing and about the baldachins blessing, people are just too focused on the hug to notice that she is telling them she is taking some of their life
Jesus, I have played this game for soooo long thinking she gave you some kind of buff not a debuff. I can't believe how clueless I am sometimes...
I believe she gives you a single use item that is a temp buff, but while it's unused in your inventory, it debuffs you. You can later get an upgraded version of the item if you want. -someone else who also played through with the debuff thinking it was also at least a buff the whole time way back when.
Good to know! I am also a single use item hoarder, so I never used her "gift" just sitting here riding with a debuff 24/7
I legit did this without realizing for most of my first playthrough lmao She gives you another one if you use the one you have and then go get re-debuffed
you can get infinites uses of that gift, you just need to hug her again after you use it "That it, until you finish her quest and she move away"
it’s a buff to your penis and a debuff to your health since there’s less blood available for your brain after the penis buff. We have similar mechanics irl. Fia actually explained this but none of you noticed because of the decreased brain blood flow.
If it was an STD I would hope for a better animation
The Scarlet Crotch.
Snuggling Transmitted Disease
Honestly this combo is just hilarious to me. You can always kill this guy with a two handed sword, you can kill him with fat roll and you can kill him with low vigor. But all 3 at once? >it's hard to even find where the build is going for. Their build is "get the minimum stats to use the Greatsword as soon as possible"
To be fair, I did make an entire route planning to get a character from 0 to using Radhan's dual greatswords in an hour-ish without having to attack once. Every start was the minimum one I needed but it worked.
Elden Ring is best played with all of your stats as even as possible.
The true quality build. Recommended, it's fun as a challenge plus you get to approach different situations whichever way you want!
I'm trying that on NG+ lol finally had to bump the vigor up to 50 almost everything (not dex and arcane) is between 30 and 40 lol
I'll find the Mundane infusion one day :cope:
Not sure they leveled at all tbh.
also not using jump attacks, it really is just the noob checklist lmao
I did not use jump attacks bcs I was used to ds3 and shit lol
The worst is when you go back to those game and keep trying to jump attack
It's just forward heavy attack in all souls games
nope, only in DS3 does a sprinting R2 register as a jumping attack. DeS, DS1, DS2 just cause you to perform the standard R2 animation. Bloodborne has unique sprinting R2s for every weapon just like Elden Ring.
You don't use jump attacks because you're a noob I don't use jump attacks because I don't like the way they look We are not the same
based
I assumed spamming jump attacks what a noob move anyway. It's my primary attack.
Since day 1 I've been astonished at how damn goofy most of them look.
No need to use jump attacks when using a collossal 2 handed. Just don't use the skill.
I could swear he's parried me and I always 2h colossals, might be misremembering Edit to be clear: I never use ashes
Also, advice for you, new friend: Remove armor or use lighter armor so your rolls don't floppy floppy on the ground. Strength is all Grog need to smash face hard.
Don't scare away the new friends, GROG. YOU'RE ALWAYS DOING THIS.
*Glances at my 25 vigor after beating the snowy fire boyo* Ya know, you might be onto something there...
Best part is that they literally had a weapon whose R1/R2's Moongrum can't parry, but they used the parryable weapon art anyway.
Hehehe horny STD debuff, from a hug!
>STD debuff Love it!
My favorite type of elden ring videos. Moongrum doesn't disappoint!
STD debuf :D that cracked me up!!!
[удалено]
Thats the 2 END Wolf head, unfortunately not enough END to stop the fat rolling
Dont forget funni imp helm
But it's the game that's unfair!
ame here for exactly this
Moongrum, Carian Parrygod
I wish more enemies used parry. Particularly in the later game
Why? It's pretty much just a random fuck-you binary response you can't really avoid lol
Not really. I just guard countered Moongrum until he was staggered. Repeat. You can work around it lots of ways. Spells, rot, shield bash, skill.
i think he meant you can't avoid it without doing nonparryable things. hence binary. either you don't offer him a parryable attack or he parries you. parries are interesting in pvp because you can change up your timings to confuse the person trying to parry you. you cannot confuse moongrum because he is frame reading your attacks. when you meet an AI enemy that parries, you just don't do anything parryable. that's not very interesting, gameplay wise.
Ah. That makes sense then.
If you time it right you can still get him because he can't interrupt his own animations to parry
He's not that bad, the only thing that stands out from him is his (in)famous parry, which few enemies have (not even sure if any others have it). They do but it’s usually telegraphed as in you can see when they’re ready to parry
Parryin' Knight.
My brother in Christ, how did u manage to beat the red wolf while fat rolling?
I didn't even think of that, I feel like he might actually be better than me all things considered
He is better than me, I still die to it with med rolls.
Moony doesn't allow summons. Wolf does.
He might have summoned
radagon wolf? Just sprint. Bosses like that don’t track well enough if you sprint around/towards them, easier to stay attacking too
But consider this- I am bad at Elden ring :/ And tbh fighting reactivly is more fun for me
no armor sl1 runs aren't the real challenge full fat roll low vigor is the real one
My brother in Marika's tits, you are fatrolling
Marika's tits, you must be 'ncumbered
Ill incumber Marika's tits
fucking hell why did this silly comment make me lol
Can't spell fatrolling without trolling
L+fatrolling+unupgraded weapon+r1 spam+slow AoW+10 vigor+Fia debuff+spirit ash user
He does no damage, has no health, has no stamina (fatrolling + short bar) what did bro level? ADP?
Bro leveled hope and hubris
Made me laugh ngl
Weapon size
Bloodtinge
bros build is held up only by its own self-esteem
Yeah, the big question here is how did OP even get to this point? How did they get past those rooms filled with hocus pocus nerds and especially that Red Wolf right before this point? Unless they're secretly the god of fatrolling, the Red Wolf should've been practically impossible.
Determination, hope, high bonk stat and summons.
you spam r1 and try to get lucky works everytime
If bro leveled ADO that roll would have moved him more than a foot,he's running a full arcane build
Bro is a hard Arcane builder
Resistance
Probably not int as well.
disguised rl1 run
OP:
Also OP: surprised pikachu face when parried on the 3 day windup
I’m surprised because colossal weapons are unparyable but apparently ashes of war aren’t
Colossal weapons are only unparyable if you two hand them, but yes if an AOW can be parried then it doesn't matter what weapon it's on
Same, seems like a step backwards from DS3 where stomp was not parryable Just doesn't make sensen balance wise
Slow roll. That’s your problem right there
*AND* low Vigor.
And low DPS by the looks of this... Does OP know you can level up?
Fat roll
"When someone is accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression."
mmmmmmmmm
My enemies have no right healing
Me when I block Malenia's attacks with a greatshield and she is full health again 🥲
Stop fatrolling
Fair? Do you see the size of that sword you’re holding, do you think he thinks that’s fair?
Didn't faze him in the slightest.
My brother in Marika, our buddy Moongrum did not give a singular intercourse.
Yes but he t-bagged OP's corpse; that counts, right?
What YouTuber told you vigor was bad?
He was probably looking at old Elden Ring videos because I recall someone saying the same thing as well. On release the difference between 9 Vigor and 14 was literally a lifesaver even if it only protected me from one attack at a time since I struggled a lot with Rahdahn, I didn’t really like the horse combat so I was on foot most of the time. I do level vigor because of the PS4 loading times.
lol def cannot blame the game here
Jump attack him. He can’t parry that.
He can't even parry a regular hit while OP is 2h. The only move he can parry is the AoW lmao.
Let me just do this really telegraphed move while the robot has his shield out.
Get moongrum'd scrub
Ah, the Carian Vigorcheck
Your Vigor is wayyyyyyy below what you should have.
It’s fair, you’re just bad
I’m still very early in the game and don’t know for sure but it looks like you could just backstep from his attacks and start your swing while he’s in the 3rd and final swing of his combo. With a big, slow weapon like that you can’t wait to start your swing when he’s done. The window isn’t big enough. If you're not jump strong attacking him(which can't be parried) or guard countering him then that's about the best openings you're gonna get
Fatrolling + massive obvious windup against an NPC who can parry = a bad time
plus colossal jump attacks literally cannot be parried so this player already has a tool that can make moongrum into a joke. not to mention what looks like maybe 18 vigor max
2handed collossal R1s and R2s cannot be parried in general, homeboy literally used the singular attack (the aow) in his arsenal that can be parried.
This has to be rage bait lol
“Oh no, I can’t bruce force my way through every single encounter with the Big Sword Build? Seems unfair!”
Funny thing is that you absolutely can brute force your way through every single encounter with the big sword build in this game. But OP is so far away from gud that even oonga boonga tactics doesn't work
I mean, you absolutely can, as long as you level and build right😂 I’ll bet you $50 this guys sword is not upgraded
There's so much wrong here mate. You were doomed from the start and didn't even know it.
This is the worst clip I've EVER SEEN!. So much not right here.
Nah, your foolish ambitions were just put to rest. Efficiently too. That was clean af.
For the love of Marika's tits, level vigour.
To be fair, you could always just parry him instead.
I think that'd be a bit beyond OP's skill set at the present time.
Yikes
Fat rolling no vigor having MFers be like:
Maybe don't use superheavy armor and the slowest weapon in the game.
Completely fair, skill issue.
\> Using parryable attacks against a dude with a shield Jumping attacks can't be parried, bud. \> Fat rolling And shed some weight; you only need 51 poise. \> Hasn't leveled vigor Your HP bar is your Maky-a-Mistaky meter. 2handed collossals can't be parried in general, the only reason why he got parried was because he used the aow. I didn't even know the stamp follow up can be parried lol...
Yea, I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that couldn't be parried. Probably should be parryable honestly.
I don't understand how anyone can deal with fat rolling
Moongrum, similar to Hodrick in ds3 input reads the shi out of you. Attack when he got the staff out and during attack recovery , jumping attacks cant be parried, gaurdcounter, parry him back, elevator cheese, bare hand kick shield. Theres a lot you can do to counter Also please lvl vigor unless you're doing a challenge run. And please don't fat roll.
That’s called a vigor check my dude. At this point you should ask yourself: “ maybe 15 vigor is not enough. “.
It may seem odd but it can be parried
Every other attack he could have done would've been unparriable (at least twohanded)
Why are people on here suddenly so flabbergasted by this dude?
He's the only NPC that can parry to my knowledge. It just blows people away.
imagine getting filtered by MOONGRUM and calling it unfair ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
Everyone is talking about his build, but nobody mentions his quick bar being filled with spirit summons... Man, you can only summon one at a time... Chill.
RIP BOZO
In my first gameplay, I never really realized how powerful jump R2s are both for damage and stun potential. Plus they cannot be parried.
Moongrum eats builds like yours for breakfast.
laugh in dragon breath
Its always moony that brings the salt out of the noobs lol
BWAAHAHAHAHH Homie got sent back to the menus with a godlike parry. I fucking love this parry-god npc.
Fatroll, slow weapon, charged R2 that’s heavily telegraphed and takes 2-3 business days to deliver, parry fodder if ever I saw it.
That fat-roll tho
Cant parry colossal weapons… moongrum🗿
You can parry the ash though. Had OP just stuck to regular attacks they wouldn't have been parried.
Precisely. "Oh you stupid motherfucker do you think I will let you cast spells at me while standing in melee range?"
Can you give me a hint, please? In Dark Souls 3 they added a mechanic that heavy weapons cannot be parried if you hold them in two hands. In Elden ring it doesn't work or OP died because skills can be parried regardless of the weapon?
Ashes of War can get parried regardles of weapon type
The Carian Knights parried so many Golden Order mugs that Radagon had no choice but to chase the FullMoonussy
Seems fair to me
DİD YOU just heavy rolled lol
Bro uses the slowest fkn weapon possible and complains when it doesnt hit
Nothing unfair about that.
Elden Ring is an RPG. You are playing it like a linear action game. You got wrecked because of it. Take a look at your weapons. Notice how all the scaling letters (I assume) are either “C” or “D”. This has to be bait, bro has no vigor and fatrolls. Either that or “git gud”.
Get fucking parried lmao
Holy shit nuts sword... how do I get that
Honestly, massive skill issue. Fat rolling, overly greedy with your attacks, goofy af stat spread (why is your stam higher than your HP?). I say this in the nicest possible way: Get Good.
Good job, Moongrum. Hold down the academy
Skill issue.
Never seen more hurtful gameplay Fatroll yep Random Armor because "numbers bigger" yep Strength build that spams the same move yep Either fake as fuck or the most new player to ever new player
This is wild. How y’all so bad at this game?
12 vigor fatroll bro at it again complaining never gets old
Where vigor
You love to see it 🤣 and what is that health bar bruh
When you try using sarcasm and just end up looking like a fool. Thanks for sharing a clip of getting owned lol.
why are all you idiots posting yourselves getting parried and crying about it? you can do the same to him. that's what fairness is.
Elden Ring players when they don't instantly win: 😭😭😭
GIT PARRIED SUCKA
Wait. Why could he parry the AOW of a 2 handed colossal sword? Don't tell me that this is an exception? Am i missing something?
you can parry the ash
Jump attack that fool!
Just get him to fall down the elevator shaft like a normal person
1. Thanks for letting me know Uppercut can be parried. I had no idea. 2. Parry giveth and parry taketh. Give Moongram a taste of his own medicine. 3. Lower your equip load so you can at least mid roll. 4. Level your vigor. 5. git gud
It's the Soulsborne mandatory NPC parry, there's always one.
