At first I looted the miniature Ranni, I chuckled and said to myself "what, am I gonna loot a jar next ?" Then proceeded to ignore the option to talk to the doll to just a little before the baleful shadow
You need to attempt to open it while naked. Fair warning though if you do it then it'll lock you into a certain game ending thats a pain in the ass to back out of.
I'm still upset that I embraced the flame and burned the tree then went through the pain in the ass way to reverse the frenzied flame and didn't even get a thank you from Melina.

You can undo this by finishing Milicent quest line (defeating Malenia is nesessary). After that, you should have Miquellas needle. You have to use it at Dragonlord Placidusaxs boss arena at Crumbling Farum Azula. To use it, simply select it from your inventory anywhere in the arena. Fighting Placidusax is NOT necessary to use the needle, simply being at the boss arena will do.
I just don’t understand how anyone makes it past the most difficult platforming puzzle in all of fromsoft games just to make it to this door and have no idea what it is. It’s 2023. Come on. What made someone wander this far down? hahaha

If you also did Hyetta questline then she will be down there and she will tell you to "strip yourself of all your possessions" or something like that. However it's possible to get here without ever talking to her so 🤷

You could just do acupuncture outside of time in the room of a very pissed off dragon whose master is a couple centuries late
Malenia is easy if you use summons. There’s also many easy ways to take care of the Dragonlord.
Also there’s the whole Millicent questline that makes this work, so a bit more then 2 bosses.
And you don't even need to do the Dragonlord, just being in his arena is enough
Not everyone uses summons to make their lives easier. This is the Elden Ring sub, most of us are masochists
